1 (UKJV) The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests that were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin:
1 (LS) Paroles de Jérémie, fils de Hilkija, l'un des sacrificateurs d'Anathoth, dans le pays de Benjamin.
2 (UKJV) To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
2 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel lui fut adressée au temps de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda, la treizième année de son règne,
3 (UKJV) It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
3 (LS) et au temps de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu'à la fin de la onzième année de Sédécias, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu'à l'époque où Jérusalem fut emmenée en captivité, au cinquième mois.
4 (UKJV) Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
4 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots:
5 (UKJV) "Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations. "
5 (LS) Avant que je t'eusse formé dans le ventre de ta mère, je te connaissais, et avant que tu fusses sorti de son sein, je t'avais consacré, je t'avais établi prophète des nations.
6 (UKJV) Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
6 (LS) Je répondis: Ah! Seigneur Eternel! voici, je ne sais point parler, car je suis un enfant.
7 (UKJV) But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for you shall go to all that I shall send you, and whatsoever I command you you shall speak.
7 (LS) Et l'Eternel me dit: Ne dis pas: Je suis un enfant. Car tu iras vers tous ceux auprès de qui je t'enverrai, et tu diras tout ce que je t'ordonnerai.
8 (UKJV) Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.
8 (LS) Ne les crains point, car je suis avec toi pour te délivrer, dit l'Eternel.
9 (UKJV) Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
9 (LS) Puis l'Eternel étendit sa main, et toucha ma bouche; et l'Eternel me dit: Voici, je mets mes paroles dans ta bouche.
10 (UKJV) See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
10 (LS) Regarde, je t'établis aujourd'hui sur les nations et sur les royaumes, pour que tu arraches et que tu abattes, pour que tu ruines et que tu détruises, pour que tu bâtisses et que tu plantes.
11 (UKJV) Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what see you? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
11 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: Que vois-tu, Jérémie? Je répondis: Je vois une branche d'amandier.
12 (UKJV) Then said the LORD unto me, You have well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
12 (LS) Et l'Eternel me dit: Tu as bien vu; car je veille sur ma parole, pour l'exécuter.
13 (UKJV) "And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What see you? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north. "
13 (LS) La parole de l'Eternel me fut adressée une seconde fois, en ces mots: Que vois-tu? Je répondis: Je vois une chaudière bouillante, du côté du septentrion.
14 (UKJV) Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
14 (LS) Et l'Eternel me dit: C'est du septentrion que la calamité se répandra sur tous les habitants du pays.
15 (UKJV) "For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, says the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. "
15 (LS) Car voici, je vais appeler tous les peuples des royaumes du septentrion, dit l'Eternel; ils viendront, et placeront chacun leur siège à l'entrée des portes de Jérusalem, contre ses murailles tout alentour, et contre toutes les villes de Juda.
16 (UKJV) And I will utter my judgments against them concerning all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
16 (LS) Je prononcerai mes jugements contre eux, à cause de toute leur méchanceté, parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et ont offert de l'encens à d'autres dieux, et parce qu'ils se sont prosternés devant l'ouvrage de leurs mains.
17 (UKJV) You therefore gird up your loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command you: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound you before them.
17 (LS) Et toi, ceins tes reins, lève-toi, et dis-leur tout ce que je t'ordonnerai. Ne tremble pas en leur présence, de peur que je ne te fasse trembler devant eux.
18 (UKJV) For, behold, I have made you this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
18 (LS) Voici, je t'établis en ce jour sur tout le pays comme une ville forte, une colonne de fer et un mur d'airain, contre les rois de Juda, contre ses chefs, contre ses sacrificateurs, et contre le peuple du pays.
19 (UKJV) "And they shall fight against you; but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you, says the LORD, to deliver you. "
19 (LS) Ils te feront la guerre, mais ils ne te vaincront pas; car je suis avec toi pour te délivrer, dit l'Eternel.

Verš 2
To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
2Kr 21:26 - And he was buried in his tomb in the garden of Uzza: and Josiah his son reigned in his position.
2Kr 22:1 - Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.
2Krn 34:1 - Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem one and thirty years.

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
2Kr 23:34 - And Pharaohnechoh made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the room of Josiah his father, and turned his name to Jehoiakim, and took Jehoahaz away: and he came to Egypt, and died there.
2Krn 36:4 - And the king of Egypt made Eliakim his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem, and turned his name to Jehoiakim. And Necho took Jehoahaz his brother, and carried him to Egypt.
2Kr 24:17 - And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father's brother king in his position, and changed his name to Zedekiah.
2Krn 36:10 - And when the year was expired, king Nebuchadnezzar sent, and brought him to Babylon, with the goodly vessels of the house of the LORD, and made Zedekiah his brother king over Judah and Jerusalem.
Jer 52:1 - Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
2Kr 25:8 - And in the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, which is the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, a servant of the king of Babylon, unto Jerusalem:

"Before I formed you in the belly I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I sanctified you, and I ordained you a prophet unto the nations. "

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
Ex 3:1 - Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.
Ex 4:1 - And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD has not appeared unto you.
Ex 6:12 - "And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying, Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips? "
Ex 6:30 - And Moses said before the LORD, Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?
Verš 8
Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with you to deliver you, says the LORD.
Ez 3:9 - As an adamant harder than flint have I made your forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.
Dt 31:6 - "Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD your God, he it is that does go with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you. "
Dt 31:8 - "And the LORD, he it is that does go before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you, neither forsake you: fear not, neither be dismayed. "
Joz 1:5 - There shall not any man be able to stand before you all the days of your life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you: I will not fail you, nor forsake you.

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in your mouth.
Iz 6:6 - Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
Jer 5:14 - Wherefore thus says the LORD God of hosts, Because all of you speak this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth fire, and this people wood, and it shall devour them.
Verš 10
See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
Jer 18:7 - "At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it; "
2Kor 10:4 - "(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) "
Verš 14
Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
Jer 4:6 - Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
Verš 15
"For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, says the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah. "
Jer 5:15 - Lo, I will bring a nation upon you from far, O house of Israel, says the LORD: it is a mighty nation, it is an ancient nation, a nation whose language you know not, neither understand what they say.
Jer 6:22 - Thus says the LORD, Behold, a people comes from the north country, and a great nation shall be raised from the sides of the earth.
Jer 10:22 - Behold, the noise of the bruit has come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
Jer 52:4 - And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and pitched against it, and built forts against it round about.
Verš 18
For, behold, I have made you this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brazen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
Jer 6:27 - I have set you for a tower and a fortress among my people, that you may know and try their way.
Jer 15:20 - And I will make you unto this people a fenced brazen wall: and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you: for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says the LORD.
Jer 1,1-3 - Tieto verše sú nadpisom Knihy. Zahrňujú Jeremiášovu činnosť len do 11. roku panovania Sedekiáša. Dnešná Kniha Jeremiášova obsahuje však aj udalosti po tomto roku, preto je pravdepodobné, že úvod bol pôvodne určený pre kratšiu zbierku, ktorú neskoršie sám prorok alebo jeho učeník Baruch doplnil časťami, ktoré hovoria o udalostiach po spomenutom roku, no v nadpise to neoznačil. O životopisných dátach prorokových a dejepisných údajoch pozri úvod.
Jer 1,5 - Nie je tu reč o tom, že by Boh bol Jeremiášovi už pred narodením odpustil dedičný hriech a obdaril ho posväcujúcou milosťou. Hovorí sa len o jeho zasvätení, určení k prorockému úradu.
Jer 1,10 - Treba si všimnúť, že sa štyrmi výrazmi označuje rúcanie a len dvoma budovanie. Toto je skutočný ráz knihy. Predpovedá väčšinou pohromy a len miestami preráža v nej nádej na požehnanú budúcnosť.
Jer 1,11-12 - V pôvodine je slovná hračka. Prút mandľovníka sa v prorokovej materčine volá "bdelý prút", pretože sa prvý prebúdza zo zimného spánku a bedlí, keď ostatné rastliny ešte spia. I Boh bude bedliť a splní, čo predpovedal.
Jer 1,13 - Obsah hrnca kypel od severu. Najmocnejší nepriatelia Júdska prichádzali naozaj od severu.
Jer 1,15 - Tróny sú kreslá vojvodcov nepriateľských vojsk, ktoré budú obliehať Jeruzalem.
Jer 1,16 - Národ okiadzal cudzích bohov, keď im prinášal kadidlové a zápalné obety.
Jer 1,17 - Dlhý šat, aký nosili Izraeliti, bolo treba podpásať, keď sa niekto chystal na cestu, do roboty alebo do boja. Aj na Jeremiáša čaká robota a boj. – Koniec verša znie vo Vulg: "a nedopustím, aby si sa bál".
