1 (CPDV) The words of Jeremiah, the son of Hilkiah of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin.
1 (HEM) דברי ירמיהו בן חלקיהו מן הכהנים אשר בענתות בארץ בנימן׃
1 (KAT) Reči Jeremiáša, syna Helkiášovho, spomedzi kňazov, ktorí boli v Anatote, v Benjamínovej krajine.
2 (CPDV) The word of the Lord, which came to him in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
2 (HEM) אשר היה דבר יהוה אליו בימי יאשיהו בן אמון מלך יהודה בשלש עשרה שנה למלכו׃
2 (KAT) Pán hovoril k nemu v dňoch júdskeho kráľa Joziáša, syna Amonovho, v trinástom roku jeho panovania,
3 (CPDV) and which came to him in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, even until the completion of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, even until the transmigration of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
3 (HEM) ויהי בימי יהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה עד תם עשתי עשרה שנה לצדקיהו בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה עד גלות ירושלם בחדש החמישי׃
3 (KAT) aj v dňoch júdskeho kráľa Joakima, syna Joziášovho, až do konca jedenásteho roku júdskeho kráľa Sedekiáša, syna Joziášovho, až po presídlenie Jeruzalema v piatom mesiaci.
4 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me, saying:
4 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר׃
4 (KAT) Pán prehovoril ku mne takto:
5 (CPDV) “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you went forth from the womb, I sanctified you. And I made you a prophet to the nations.”
5 (HEM) בטרם אצורך בבטן ידעתיך ובטרם תצא מרחם הקדשתיך נביא לגוים נתתיך׃
5 (KAT) „Skôr, než som ťa utvoril v matkinom živote, poznal som ťa, skôr, než si vyšiel z lona, zasvätil som ťa, za proroka pre pohanov som ťa ustanovil.“
6 (CPDV) And I said: “Alas, alas, alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am a boy.”
6 (HEM) ואמר אהה אדני יהוה הנה לא ידעתי דבר כי נער אנכי׃
6 (KAT) I povedal som: „Ach, Pane, veď neviem hovoriť, mladučký som.“
7 (CPDV) And the Lord said to me: “Do not choose to say, ‘I am a boy.’ For you shall go forth to everyone to whom I will send you. And you shall speak all that I will command you.
7 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אלי אל תאמר נער אנכי כי על כל אשר אשלחך תלך ואת כל אשר אצוך תדבר׃
7 (KAT) Ale Pán mi riekol: „Nehovor: »Mladučký som,« lebo pôjdeš všade, kde ťa pošlem, a povieš všetko, čo ti prikážem.
8 (CPDV) You should not be afraid before their face. For I am with you, so that I may deliver you,” says the Lord.
8 (HEM) אל תירא מפניהם כי אתך אני להצלך נאם יהוה׃
8 (KAT) Neboj sa ich, veď ja som s tebou, aby som ťa vyslobodil!“ - hovorí Pán.
9 (CPDV) And the Lord put forth his hand, and he touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have placed my words in your mouth.
9 (HEM) וישלח יהוה את ידו ויגע על פי ויאמר יהוה אלי הנה נתתי דברי בפיך׃
9 (KAT) Vtedy vystrel Pán ruku a dotkol sa mi úst. A Pán mi riekol: „Hľa, vložil som svoje slová do tvojich úst!
10 (CPDV) Behold, today I have appointed you over nations and over kingdoms, so that you may root up, and pull down, and destroy, and scatter, and so that you may build and plant.”
10 (HEM) ראה הפקדתיך היום הזה על הגוים ועל הממלכות לנתוש ולנתוץ ולהאביד ולהרוס לבנות ולנטוע׃
10 (KAT) Pozri, postavil som ťa dnes nad národy a nad kráľovstvá, aby si vytrhával a rúcal, nivočil a pustošil, aby si budoval a sadil.“
11 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” And I said, “I see a staff, keeping watch.”
11 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר מה אתה ראה ירמיהו ואמר מקל שקד אני ראה׃
11 (KAT) Pán sa ma pýtal toto: „Čo vidíš, Jeremiáš?“ Odpovedal som: „Vidím prút mandľovníka.“
12 (CPDV) And the Lord said to me: “You have seen well. For I will keep watch over my word, so that I may accomplish it.”
12 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אלי היטבת לראות כי שקד אני על דברי לעשתו׃
12 (KAT) A Pán mi povedal: „Dobre si videl, pretože budem bedliť na svoje slovo a splním ho.“
13 (CPDV) And the word of the Lord came to me a second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a cooking pot upon a fire, and its face is before the face of the north.”
13 (HEM) ויהי דבר יהוה אלי שנית לאמר מה אתה ראה ואמר סיר נפוח אני ראה ופניו מפני צפונה׃
13 (KAT) Pán sa ma pýtal po druhý raz toto: „Čo vidíš?“ Odpovedal som: „Vidím kypiaci hrniec a jeho ústie je od severu.“
14 (CPDV) And the Lord said to me: “From the north, an evil will spread over all the inhabitants of the earth.
14 (HEM) ויאמר יהוה אלי מצפון תפתח הרעה על כל ישבי הארץ׃
14 (KAT) Nato mi Pán povedal: „Od severu kypí nešťastie na všetkých obyvateľov krajiny.
15 (CPDV) For behold, I will call together all the close associates of the kingdoms of the north, says the Lord. And they will arrive, and each one of them will place his throne at the entrance to the gates of Jerusalem, and over all its surrounding walls, and over all the cities of Judah.
15 (HEM) כי הנני קרא לכל משפחות ממלכות צפונה נאם יהוה ובאו ונתנו איש כסאו פתח שערי ירושלם ועל כל חומתיה סביב ועל כל ערי יהודה׃
15 (KAT) Bo hľa, ja zavolám všetky kmene kráľovstiev severu - hovorí Pán. Prídu a každý postaví svoj trón pred vchodom do brán Jeruzalema proti všetkým jeho múrom vôkol a proti všetkým júdskym mestám.
16 (CPDV) And I will speak my judgments with them, concerning all the wickedness of those who have forsaken me, and who have offered libations to strange gods, and who have adored the work of their own hands.
16 (HEM) ודברתי משפטי אותם על כל רעתם אשר עזבוני ויקטרו לאלהים אחרים וישתחוו למעשי ידיהם׃
16 (KAT) I prerokujem s nimi svoj spor pre všetku ich zlobu, že ma opustili, že okiadzali cudzích bohov a klaňali sa dielu svojich rúk.“
17 (CPDV) Therefore, you should gird your waist, and 427 rise up, and speak to them everything that I instruct you. You should not have dread before their face. For I will cause you to be unafraid of their countenance.
17 (HEM) ואתה תאזר מתניך וקמת ודברת אליהם את כל אשר אנכי אצוך אל תחת מפניהם פן אחתך לפניהם׃
17 (KAT) „Ale ty si opáš bedrá, povstaň a rozpovedz im všetko, čo som ti prikázal! Nemaj pred nimi strach, aby som ťa nimi nenastrašil!
18 (CPDV) For certainly, this day, I have made you like a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and a brass wall, over all the land, to the kings of Judah, to its leaders, and to the priests, and to the people of the land.
18 (HEM) ואני הנה נתתיך היום לעיר מבצר ולעמוד ברזל ולחמות נחשת על כל הארץ למלכי יהודה לשריה לכהניה ולעם הארץ׃
18 (KAT) A ja, hľa, urobil som ťa dnes opevneným mestom, železným stĺpom a kovovým múrom proti celej krajine, proti kráľom Júdska a jeho kniežatám, proti jeho kňazom a ľudu krajiny.
19 (CPDV) And they will make war against you, but they will not prevail. For I am with you, says the Lord, so that I may free you.”
19 (HEM) ונלחמו אליך ולא יוכלו לך כי אתך אני נאם יהוה להצילך׃
19 (KAT) Budú s tebou zápasiť, ale nepremôžu ťa, lebo s tebou som ja - hovorí Pán, aby som ťa vyslobodil.“

Verš 2
The word of the Lord, which came to him in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign,
2Kr 21:26 - And they buried him in his sepulcher, in the garden of Uzza. And his son, Josiah, reigned in his place.
2Kr 22:1 - Josiah was eight years old when he had begun to reign. He reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. The name of his mother was Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah, from Bozkath.
2Krn 34:1 - Josiah was eight years old when he had begun to reign, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
Verš 3
and which came to him in the days of Jehoiakim, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, even until the completion of the eleventh year of Zedekiah, the son of Josiah, king of Judah, even until the transmigration of Jerusalem in the fifth month.
2Kr 23:34 - And Pharaoh Neco appointed Eliakim, the son of Josiah, as king in place of Josiah his father. And he changed his name to Jehoiakim. Then he took Jehoahaz away, and he brought him into Egypt, and there he died.
2Krn 36:4 - And he appointed Eliakim, his brother, as king in his place, over Judah and Jerusalem. And he changed his name to Jehoiakim. Truly, he took Jehoahaz with him, and he led him away to Egypt.
2Kr 24:17 - And he appointed Mattaniah, his uncle, in his place. And he imposed the name Zedekiah upon him.
2Krn 36:10 - And when the course of a year had turned, king Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon, carrying away, at the same time, the most precious vessels of the house of the Lord. Truly, he appointed his uncle, Zedekiah, as king over Judah and Jerusalem.
Jer 52:1 - Zedekiah was a son of twenty-one years when he first began to reign. And he reigned for eleven years in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah from Libnah.
2Kr 25:8 - In the fifth month, on the seventh day of the month, the same is the nineteenth year of the king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan, the leader of the army, a servant of the king of Babylon, went into Jerusalem.

“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. And before you went forth from the womb, I sanctified you. And I made you a prophet to the nations.”

Verš 6
And I said: “Alas, alas, alas, Lord God! Behold, I do not know how to speak, for I am a boy.”
Ex 3:1 - Now Moses was pasturing the sheep of his father-in-law Jethro, a priest of Midian. And when he had driven the flock into the interior of the desert, he came to the mountain of God, Horeb.
Ex 4:1 - Responding, Moses said, “They will not believe me, and they will not listen to my voice, but they will say: ‘The Lord has not appeared to you.’ ”
Ex 6:12 - Moses responded in the sight the Lord: “Behold, the sons of Israel do not listen to me. And how will Pharaoh listen to me, especially since I am of uncircumcised lips?”
Ex 6:30 - And Moses said in the sight of the Lord: “Lo, I am of uncircumcised lips, how will Pharaoh listen to me?”
Verš 8
You should not be afraid before their face. For I am with you, so that I may deliver you,” says the Lord.
Ez 3:9 - I have made your face like hardened iron and like flint. You should not fear them, and you should not have dread before their face. For they are a provoking house.”
Dt 31:6 - Act manfully and be strengthened. Do not be afraid, and do not dread at the sight of them. For the Lord your God himself is your commander, and he will neither dismiss nor abandon you.”
Dt 31:8 - And the Lord, who is your commander, will himself be with you. He will neither renounce nor abandon you. Do not be afraid, and do not dread.”
Joz 1:5 - No one will be able to resist you during all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so will I be with you. I will not leave you, nor will I forsake you.

And the Lord put forth his hand, and he touched my mouth. And the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have placed my words in your mouth.
Iz 6:6 - And one of the Seraphims flew to me, and in his hand was a burning coal, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.
Jer 5:14 - Thus says the Lord, the God of hosts: “Since you have spoken this word, behold, I will make my words in your mouth like fire and this people like wood, and it will devour them.

Behold, today I have appointed you over nations and over kingdoms, so that you may root up, and pull down, and destroy, and scatter, and so that you may build and plant.”
Jer 18:7 - Suddenly, I will speak against a nation and against a kingdom, so that I may uproot, and destroy, and scatter it.
2Kor 10:4 - For the weapons of our battles are not carnal, yet still they are powerful with God, unto the destruction of fortifications: tearing down every counsel

And the Lord said to me: “From the north, an evil will spread over all the inhabitants of the earth.
Jer 4:6 - Lift up a standard in Zion. Be strengthened! Do not choose to stand still. For I am bringing an evil from the north, with great destruction.
Verš 15
For behold, I will call together all the close associates of the kingdoms of the north, says the Lord. And they will arrive, and each one of them will place his throne at the entrance to the gates of Jerusalem, and over all its surrounding walls, and over all the cities of Judah.
Jer 5:15 - Behold, O house of Israel, I will lead over you a far away nation, says the Lord, a robust nation, an ancient nation, a nation whose language you will not know, nor will you understand what they are saying.
Jer 6:22 - Thus says the Lord: “Behold, a people is coming from the land of the north, and a great nation will rise up from the ends of the earth.
Jer 10:22 - Behold, the sound of a voice approaches, a great commotion from the land of the north: so that he may make the cities of Judah into a wilderness and into a dwelling place for serpents.
Jer 52:4 - And it happened that, in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, he and his entire army, came against Jerusalem. And they besieged it, and they built fortifications against it, on every side.
Verš 18
For certainly, this day, I have made you like a fortified city, and an iron pillar, and a brass wall, over all the land, to the kings of Judah, to its leaders, and to the priests, and to the people of the land.
Jer 6:27 - I have presented you as a strong tester among my people. And you will test and know their way.
Jer 15:20 - And I will present you to this people as a strong wall of brass. And they will fight against you, and they will not prevail. For I am with you, so as to save you and to rescue you, says the Lord.
Jer 1,1-3 - Tieto verše sú nadpisom Knihy. Zahrňujú Jeremiášovu činnosť len do 11. roku panovania Sedekiáša. Dnešná Kniha Jeremiášova obsahuje však aj udalosti po tomto roku, preto je pravdepodobné, že úvod bol pôvodne určený pre kratšiu zbierku, ktorú neskoršie sám prorok alebo jeho učeník Baruch doplnil časťami, ktoré hovoria o udalostiach po spomenutom roku, no v nadpise to neoznačil. O životopisných dátach prorokových a dejepisných údajoch pozri úvod.
Jer 1,5 - Nie je tu reč o tom, že by Boh bol Jeremiášovi už pred narodením odpustil dedičný hriech a obdaril ho posväcujúcou milosťou. Hovorí sa len o jeho zasvätení, určení k prorockému úradu.
Jer 1,10 - Treba si všimnúť, že sa štyrmi výrazmi označuje rúcanie a len dvoma budovanie. Toto je skutočný ráz knihy. Predpovedá väčšinou pohromy a len miestami preráža v nej nádej na požehnanú budúcnosť.
Jer 1,11-12 - V pôvodine je slovná hračka. Prút mandľovníka sa v prorokovej materčine volá "bdelý prút", pretože sa prvý prebúdza zo zimného spánku a bedlí, keď ostatné rastliny ešte spia. I Boh bude bedliť a splní, čo predpovedal.
Jer 1,13 - Obsah hrnca kypel od severu. Najmocnejší nepriatelia Júdska prichádzali naozaj od severu.
Jer 1,15 - Tróny sú kreslá vojvodcov nepriateľských vojsk, ktoré budú obliehať Jeruzalem.
Jer 1,16 - Národ okiadzal cudzích bohov, keď im prinášal kadidlové a zápalné obety.
Jer 1,17 - Dlhý šat, aký nosili Izraeliti, bolo treba podpásať, keď sa niekto chystal na cestu, do roboty alebo do boja. Aj na Jeremiáša čaká robota a boj. – Koniec verša znie vo Vulg: "a nedopustím, aby si sa bál".
