Iz 40, 1-31

1 (UKJV) Comfort all of you, comfort all of you my people, says your God.
1 (LS) Consolez, consolez mon peuple, Dit votre Dieu.

2 (UKJV) Speak all of you comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she has received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
2 (LS) Parlez au coeur de Jérusalem, et criez lui Que sa servitude est finie, Que son iniquité est expiée, Qu'elle a reçu de la main de l'Eternel Au double de tous ses péchés.

3 (UKJV) The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
3 (LS) Une voix crie: Préparez au désert le chemin de l'Eternel, Aplanissez dans les lieux arides Une route pour notre Dieu.

4 (UKJV) Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
4 (LS) Que toute vallée soit exhaussée, Que toute montagne et toute colline soient abaissées! Que les coteaux se changent en plaines, Et les défilés étroits en vallons!

5 (UKJV) And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.
5 (LS) Alors la gloire de l'Eternel sera révélée, Et au même instant toute chair la verra; Car la bouche de l'Eternel a parlé.

6 (UKJV) The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
6 (LS) Une voix dit: Crie! -Et il répond: Que crierai-je? Toute chair est comme l'herbe, Et tout son éclat comme la fleur des champs.

7 (UKJV) The grass withers, the flower fades: because the spirit of the LORD blows upon it: surely the people is grass.
7 (LS) L'herbe sèche, la fleur tombe, Quand le vent de l'Eternel souffle dessus. -Certainement le peuple est comme l'herbe:

8 (UKJV) The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
8 (LS) L'herbe sèche, la fleur tombe; Mais la parole de notre Dieu subsiste éternellement.

9 (UKJV) "O Zion, that bring good tidings, get you up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bring good tidings, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! "
9 (LS) Monte sur une haute montagne, Sion, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Elève avec force ta voix, Jérusalem, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Elève ta voix, ne crains point, Dis aux villes de Juda: Voici votre Dieu!

10 (UKJV) Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
10 (LS) Voici, le Seigneur, l'Eternel vient avec puissance, Et de son bras il commande; Voici, le salaire est avec lui, Et les rétributions le précèdent.

11 (UKJV) He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
11 (LS) Comme un berger, il paîtra son troupeau, Il prendra les agneaux dans ses bras, Et les portera dans son sein; Il conduira les brebis qui allaitent.

12 (UKJV) Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
12 (LS) Qui a mesuré les eaux dans le creux de sa main, Pris les dimensions des cieux avec la paume, Et ramassé la poussière de la terre dans un tiers de mesure? Qui a pesé les montagnes au crochet, Et les collines à la balance?

13 (UKJV) Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor has taught him?
13 (LS) Qui a sondé l'esprit de l'Eternel, Et qui l'a éclairé de ses conseils?

14 (UKJV) With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?
14 (LS) Avec qui a-t-il délibéré pour en recevoir de l'instruction? Qui lui a appris le sentier de la justice? Qui lui a enseigné la sagesse, Et fait connaître le chemin de l'intelligence?

15 (UKJV) Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he takes up the isles as a very little thing.
15 (LS) Voici, les nations sont comme une goutte d'un seau, Elles sont comme de la poussière sur une balance; Voici, les îles sont comme une fine poussière qui s'envole.

16 (UKJV) And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
16 (LS) Le Liban ne suffit pas pour le feu, Et ses animaux ne suffisent pas pour l'holocauste.

17 (UKJV) "All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. "
17 (LS) Toutes les nations sont devant lui comme un rien, Elles ne sont pour lui que néant et vanité.

18 (UKJV) To whom then will all of you liken God? or what likeness will all of you compare unto him?
18 (LS) A qui voulez-vous comparer Dieu? Et quelle image ferez-vous son égale?

19 (UKJV) The workman melts a graven image, and the goldsmith spreads it over with gold, and casts silver chains.
19 (LS) C'est un ouvrier qui fond l'idole, Et c'est un orfèvre qui la couvre d'or, Et y soude des chaînettes d'argent.

20 (UKJV) "He that is so impoverished that he has no oblation chooses a tree that will not rot; he seeks unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. "
20 (LS) Celui que la pauvreté oblige à donner peu Choisit un bois qui résiste à la vermoulure; Il se procure un ouvrier capable, Pour faire une idole qui ne branle pas.

21 (UKJV) Have all of you not known? have all of you not heard? has it not been told you from the beginning? have all of you not understood from the foundations of the earth?
21 (LS) Ne le savez-vous pas? ne l'avez-vous pas appris? Ne vous l'a-t-on pas fait connaître dès le commencement? N'avez-vous jamais réfléchi à la fondation de la terre?

22 (UKJV) "It is he that sits upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretches out the heavens as a curtain, and spreads them out as a tent to dwell in: "
22 (LS) C'est lui qui est assis au-dessus du cercle de la terre, Et ceux qui l'habitent sont comme des sauterelles; Il étend les cieux comme une étoffe légère, Il les déploie comme une tente, pour en faire sa demeure.

23 (UKJV) "That brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth as vanity. "
23 (LS) C'est lui qui réduit les princes au néant, Et qui fait des juges de la terre une vanité;

24 (UKJV) "Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. "
24 (LS) Ils ne sont pas même plantés, pas même semés, Leur tronc n'a pas même de racine en terre: Il souffle sur eux, et ils se dessèchent, Et un tourbillon les emporte comme le chaume.

25 (UKJV) To whom then will all of you liken me, or shall I be equal? says the Holy One.
25 (LS) A qui me comparerez-vous, pour que je lui ressemble? Dit le Saint.

26 (UKJV) "Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who has created these things, that brings out their host by number: he calls them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one fails. "
26 (LS) Levez vos yeux en haut, et regardez! Qui a créé ces choses? Qui fait marcher en ordre leur armée? Il les appelle toutes par leur nom; Par son grand pouvoir et par sa force puissante, Il n'en est pas une qui fasse défaut.

27 (UKJV) Why say you, O Jacob, and speak, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
27 (LS) Pourquoi dis-tu, Jacob, Pourquoi dis-tu, Israël: Ma destinée est cachée devant l'Eternel, Mon droit passe inaperçu devant mon Dieu?

28 (UKJV) Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
28 (LS) Ne le sais-tu pas? ne l'as-tu pas appris? C'est le Dieu d'éternité, l'Eternel, Qui a créé les extrémités de la terre; Il ne se fatigue point, il ne se lasse point; On ne peut sonder son intelligence.

29 (UKJV) "He gives power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increases strength. "
29 (LS) Il donne de la force à celui qui est fatigué, Et il augmente la vigueur de celui qui tombe en défaillance.

30 (UKJV) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
30 (LS) Les adolescents se fatiguent et se lassent, Et les jeunes hommes chancellent;

31 (UKJV) "But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. "
31 (LS) Mais ceux qui se confient en l'Eternel renouvellent leur force. Ils prennent le vol comme les aigles; Ils courent, et ne se lassent point, Ils marchent, et ne se fatiguent point.

The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

Mt 3:3 - For this is he that was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Mk 1:3 - The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Lk 3:4 - As it is written in the book of the words (o. logos) of Isaiah the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare all of you the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Jn 1:23 - He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah.

And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD has spoken it.

Jn 1:14 - And the Word (o. logos) was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Verš 6

The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

Jób 14:2 - He comes forth like a flower, and is cut down: he flees also as a shadow, and continues not.

Ž 90:5 - "You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which grows up. "

Ž 102:11 - "My days are like a shadow that declines; and I am withered like grass. "

Ž 103:15 - As for man, his days are as grass: as a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

Jak 1:10 - But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away.

1Pt 1:24 - For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away:

Verš 8

The grass withers, the flower fades: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

1Pt 1:25 - But the word (o. rhema) of the Lord endures for ever. And this is the word (o. rhema) which by the gospel is preached unto you.

Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

Iz 62:11 - "Behold, the LORD has proclaimed unto the end of the world, Say all of you to the daughter of Zion, Behold, your salvation comes; behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. "

Ez 34:23 - "And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. "

Mi 7:14 - Feed your people with your rod, the flock of your heritage, which dwell solitarily in the wood, in the midst of Carmel: let them feed in Bashan and Gilead, as in the days of old.

Jn 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd gives his life for the sheep.

Iz 49:10 - "They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun strike them: for he that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. "

Who has directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor has taught him?

Rim 11:34 - For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counsellor?

1Kor 2:16 - For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

Verš 17

"All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. "

Dan 4:35 - And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What do you?

Verš 18

To whom then will all of you liken God? or what likeness will all of you compare unto him?

Iz 46:5 - To whom will all of you liken me, and make me equal, and compare me, that we may be like?

Sk 17:29 - Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by are and man's device.

Jób 9:8 - Which alone spreads out the heavens, and treads upon the waves of the sea.

Ž 104:2 - Who cover yourself with light as with a garment: who stretch out the heavens like a curtain:

Iz 44:24 - "Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself; "

Verš 23

"That brings the princes to nothing; he makes the judges of the earth as vanity. "

Jób 12:21 - He pours contempt upon princes, and weakens the strength of the mighty.

Ž 107:40 - He pours contempt upon princes, and causes them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

Verš 28

Have you not known? have you not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, faints not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

Ž 147:5 - Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite.
