1 (HEM) הוי בנים סוררים נאם יהוה לעשות עצה ולא מני ולנסך מסכה ולא רוחי למען ספות חטאת על חטאת׃
1 (UKJV) "Woe to the rebellious children, says the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: "

2 (HEM) ההלכים לרדת מצרים ופי לא שאלו לעוז במעוז פרעה ולחסות בצל מצרים׃
2 (UKJV) "That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! "

3 (HEM) והיה לכם מעוז פרעה לבשת והחסות בצל מצרים לכלמה׃
3 (UKJV) Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

4 (HEM) כי היו בצען שריו ומלאכיו חנס יגיעו׃
4 (UKJV) For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

5 (HEM) כל הבאיש על עם לא יועילו למו לא לעזר ולא להועיל כי לבשת וגם לחרפה׃
5 (UKJV) They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

6 (HEM) משא בהמות נגב בארץ צרה וצוקה לביא וליש מהם אפעה ושרף מעופף ישאו על כתף עירים חילהם ועל דבשת גמלים אוצרתם על עם לא יועילו׃
6 (UKJV) The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

7 (HEM) ומצרים הבל וריק יעזרו לכן קראתי לזאת רהב הם שבת׃
7 (UKJV) For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

8 (HEM) עתה בוא כתבה על לוח אתם ועל ספר חקה ותהי ליום אחרון לעד עד עולם׃
8 (UKJV) Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

9 (HEM) כי עם מרי הוא בנים כחשים בנים לא אבו שמוע תורת יהוה׃
9 (UKJV) That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

10 (HEM) אשר אמרו לראים לא תראו ולחזים לא תחזו לנו נכחות דברו לנו חלקות חזו מהתלות׃
10 (UKJV) "Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: "

11 (HEM) סורו מני דרך הטו מני ארח השביתו מפנינו את קדוש ישראל׃
11 (UKJV) Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

12 (HEM) לכן כה אמר קדוש ישראל יען מאסכם בדבר הזה ותבטחו בעשק ונלוז ותשענו עליו׃
12 (UKJV) Wherefore thus says the Holy One of Israel, Because all of you despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:

13 (HEM) לכן יהיה לכם העון הזה כפרץ נפל נבעה בחומה נשגבה אשר פתאם לפתע יבוא שברה׃
13 (UKJV) Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking comes suddenly at an instant.

14 (HEM) ושברה כשבר נבל יוצרים כתות לא יחמל ולא ימצא במכתתו חרש לחתות אש מיקוד ולחשף מים מגבא׃
14 (UKJV) "And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a potsherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water likewise out of the pit. "

15 (HEM) כי כה אמר אדני יהוה קדוש ישראל בשובה ונחת תושעון בהשקט ובבטחה תהיה גבורתכם ולא אביתם׃
15 (UKJV) "For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall all of you be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and all of you would not. "

16 (HEM) ותאמרו לא כי על סוס ננוס על כן תנוסון ועל קל נרכב על כן יקלו רדפיכם׃
16 (UKJV) "But all of you said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall all of you flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift. "

17 (HEM) אלף אחד מפני גערת אחד מפני גערת חמשה תנסו עד אם נותרתם כתרן על ראש ההר וכנס על הגבעה׃
17 (UKJV) "One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall all of you flee: till all of you be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an explicit sign on an hill. "

18 (HEM) ולכן יחכה יהוה לחננכם ולכן ירום לרחמכם כי אלהי משפט יהוה אשרי כל חוכי לו׃
18 (UKJV) And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

19 (HEM) כי עם בציון ישב בירושלם בכו לא תבכה חנון יחנך לקול זעקך כשמעתו ענך׃
19 (UKJV) "For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: you shall weep no more: he will be very gracious unto you at the voice of your cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer you. "

20 (HEM) ונתן לכם אדני לחם צר ומים לחץ ולא יכנף עוד מוריך והיו עיניך ראות את מוריך׃
20 (UKJV) And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not your teachers be removed into a corner any more, but your eyes shall see your teachers:

21 (HEM) ואזניך תשמענה דבר מאחריך לאמר זה הדרך לכו בו כי תאמינו וכי תשמאילו׃
21 (UKJV) And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way, walk all of you in it, when all of you turn to the right hand, and when all of you turn to the left.

22 (HEM) וטמאתם את צפוי פסילי כספך ואת אפדת מסכת זהבך תזרם כמו דוה צא תאמר לו׃
22 (UKJV) "All of you shall defile also the covering of your graven images of silver, and the ornament of your molten images of gold: you shall cast them away as a menstruous cloth; you shall say unto it, Get you behind. "

23 (HEM) ונתן מטר זרעך אשר תזרע את האדמה ולחם תבואת האדמה והיה דשן ושמן ירעה מקניך ביום ההוא כר נרחב׃
23 (UKJV) "Then shall he give the rain of your seed, that you shall sow the ground likewise; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and abundant: in that day shall your cattle feed in large pastures. "

24 (HEM) והאלפים והעירים עבדי האדמה בליל חמיץ יאכלו אשר זרה ברחת ובמזרה׃
24 (UKJV) The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean animal food, which has been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

25 (HEM) והיה על כל הר גבה ועל כל גבעה נשאה פלגים יבלי מים ביום הרג רב בנפל מגדלים׃
25 (UKJV) And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

26 (HEM) והיה אור הלבנה כאור החמה ואור החמה יהיה שבעתים כאור שבעת הימים ביום חבש יהוה את שבר עמו ומחץ מכתו ירפא׃
26 (UKJV) Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD binds up the breach of his people, and heals the stroke of their wound.

27 (HEM) הנה שם יהוה בא ממרחק בער אפו וכבד משאה שפתיו מלאו זעם ולשונו כאש אכלת׃
27 (UKJV) Behold, the name of the LORD comes from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

28 (HEM) ורוחו כנחל שוטף עד צואר יחצה להנפה גוים בנפת שוא ורסן מתעה על לחיי עמים׃
28 (UKJV) And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to go astray.

29 (HEM) השיר יהיה לכם כליל התקדש חג ושמחת לבב כהולך בחליל לבוא בהר יהוה אל צור ישראל׃
29 (UKJV) "All of you shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goes with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel. "

30 (HEM) והשמיע יהוה את הוד קולו ונחת זרועו יראה בזעף אף ולהב אש אוכלה נפץ וזרם ואבן ברד׃
30 (UKJV) And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

31 (HEM) כי מקול יהוה יחת אשור בשבט יכה׃
31 (UKJV) For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which stroke with a rod.

32 (HEM) והיה כל מעבר מטה מוסדה אשר יניח יהוה עליו בתפים ובכנרות ובמלחמות תנופה נלחם בה׃
32 (UKJV) And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with timbrels and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

33 (HEM) כי ערוך מאתמול תפתה גם הוא למלך הוכן העמיק הרחב מדרתה אש ועצים הרבה נשמת יהוה כנחל גפרית בערה בה׃
33 (UKJV) "For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he has made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, does kindle it. "
