1 (CPDV) O Lord, you are my God! I will exalt you, and I will confess your name. For you have accomplished miracles. Your plan, from antiquity, is faithful. Amen.
1 (ROH) Hospodine, ty si môj Bôh; vyvyšovať ťa budem, oslavovať budem tvoje meno, lebo si učinil predivné veci, rady, uradené od pradávna, vernú pravdu.
2 (CPDV) For you have appointed a city as a tomb, a strong city for ruination, a house of foreigners: so that it may not be a city, and so that it may not be rebuilt forever.
2 (ROH) Lebo si obrátil mesto v hromadu rozvalín, ohradené mesto v zrúcaninu, paláce cudzozemcov, aby neboly mestom; nebude viacej vystavené až na veky.
3 (CPDV) Concerning this, a strong people will praise you; a city with a robust people will fear you.
3 (ROH) Preto ťa bude ctiť a oslavovať silný ľud urputný, mesto ukrutných národov sa ťa bude báť.
4 (CPDV) For you have been the strength of the poor, the strength of the indigent in his tribulation, a refuge from the whirlwind, a shadow from the heat. For the spirit of the mighty is like a whirlwind striking against a wall.
4 (ROH) Lebo si bol pevnosťou chudobnému, pevnosťou núdznemu, keď mu bolo úzko, útočišťom pred prívalom, tôňou pred horúčavou, lebo vzteklý duch ukrutníkov je ako príval na stenu.
5 (CPDV) You will bring low the uprising of foreigners, just as heat brings thirst. And like heat under a torrential cloud, you will cause the offshoot of the strong to wither away.
5 (ROH) Jako horúčavu vo vypráhlej zemi, tak potlačíš veselý hlomoz cudzincov, ako horúčavu tôňou hustého oblaku. - Pokorí spev ukrutníkov.
6 (CPDV) And the Lord of hosts will cause all the peoples on this mountain to feast on fatness, to feast on wine, a fatness full of marrow, a purified wine.
6 (ROH) A Hospodin Zástupov učiní všetkým národom hostinu tučných vecí na tomto vrchu, hostinu pri kvasenom víne, hostinu tučných vecí, plných špiku, kvaseného vína očisteného.
7 (CPDV) And he will cast down violently, on this mountain, the face of the chains, with which all peoples had been bound, and the net, with which all nations had been covered.
7 (ROH) A pohltí na tomto vrchu tvár závoja, ktorý leží na všetkých ľuďoch, aby zavil, a prikrývku, ktorá je rozprestretá na všetkých národoch, aby prikryla;
8 (CPDV) He will violently cast down death forever. And the Lord God will take away the tears from every face, and he will take away the disgrace of his people from the entire earth. For the Lord has spoken it.
8 (ROH) pohltí smrť na večnosť, a Pán Hospodin sotrie slzu s každej tvári a odstráni potupu svojho ľudu s celej zeme, lebo Hospodin hovoril.
9 (CPDV) And they will say in that day: “Behold, this is our God! We have waited for him, and he will save us. This is the Lord! We have endured for him. We will exult and rejoice in his salvation.”
9 (ROH) Preto povedia toho dňa: Hľa, toto je náš Bôh, na ktorého sme očakávali, a vše nás spasil; toto je Hospodin, na ktorého sme očakávali! Plesajme a radujme sa v jeho spasení!
10 (CPDV) For the hand of the Lord will rest upon this mountain. And Moab will be trampled under him, just as stubble is worn away by a wagon.
10 (ROH) Lebo ruka Hospodinova odpočinie na tomto vrchu, a Moáb bude zašliapaný na svojom mieste, jako sa zašliape slama do moku hnoja,
11 (CPDV) And he will extend his hands under him, like a swimmer extending his hands to swim. And he will bring down his glory with a clap of his hands.
11 (ROH) a rozprestrie svoje ruky vo svojom strede, jako ich rozprestiera plavec plávajúc. A tak poníži jeho pýchu s úkladmi jeho rúk.
12 (CPDV) And the fortifications of your sublime walls will fall, and be brought low, and be torn down to the ground, even to the dust.
12 (ROH) A ohradu, vysokosť tvojich múrov zohne, poníži a srazí na zem až do prachu.

Verš 8
He will violently cast down death forever. And the Lord God will take away the tears from every face, and he will take away the disgrace of his people from the entire earth. For the Lord has spoken it.
1Kor 15:54 - And when this mortality has been clothed with immortality, then the word that was written shall occur: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”

Iz 21:9 - Behold, a certain man approaches, a man riding on a two-horse chariot.” And he responded, and he said: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon! And all its graven gods have been crushed into the earth!
Iz 23:13 - Behold, the land of the Chaldeans: never before was there such a people! Assur founded it. They have led away its strong ones into captivity. They have dug under its houses. They have left it in ruins.
Zjv 14:8 - And another Angel followed, saying: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, who inebriated all nations with the wine of her wrath and of fornication.”
Zjv 18:2 - And he cried out with strength, saying: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great. And she has become the habitation of demons, and the keepsake of every unclean spirit, and the possession of every unclean and hateful flying thing.
Verš 11
And he will extend his hands under him, like a swimmer extending his hands to swim. And he will bring down his glory with a clap of his hands.
Iz 16:6 - We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. His pride and his arrogance and his indignation is more than his strength.
Iz 25,2 - O ničomnom meste pozri 24,10 n.
Iz 25,6 - Hostinou sa tu rozumejú radosti spasených v nebi; porov. Mt 8,11; 22,2 n. Spasení nebudú Boha vidieť už len cez závoj, ale z tváre do tváre (porov. 1 Kor 13,12). – Vulg miesto závoja spomína puto.
Iz 25,10 - Moabčania uvádzajú sa tu len ako príklad, ako jeden z nepriateľských národov.
