Kniha proroka Izaiáša

1 (KJV) The burden of Babylon, which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
1 (ROH) Bremä Babylona, ktoré videl Izaiáš, syn Ámosov.

2 (KJV) Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain, exalt the voice unto them, shake the hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
2 (ROH) Vyzdvihnite prápor na lysom vrchu, povýšte hlas k nim, mávajte rukou, aby vošli do brán kniežat.

3 (KJV) I have commanded my sanctified ones, I have also called my mighty ones for mine anger, even them that rejoice in my highness.
3 (ROH) Ja som prikázal svojim posväteným, aj som povolal svojich hrdinov pre svoj hnev, tých, ktorí sa veselia z môjho vyvýšenia.

4 (KJV) The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.
4 (ROH) Zvuk množstva počuť na vrchoch, podobný zvuku mnohého ľudu, zvuk hukot kráľovstiev shromaždených národov: Hospodin Zástupov prehliada vojsko do boja.

5 (KJV) They come from a far country, from the end of heaven, even the LORD, and the weapons of his indignation, to destroy the whole land.
5 (ROH) Prichádzajú z ďalekej zeme, od konca nebies. Hospodin je to a nádoby jeho zúrivého hnevu; ide aby zkazil celú zem.

6 (KJV) Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
6 (ROH) Kvíľte, lebo je blízko deň Hospodinov. Prijde jako záhuba od Všemohúceho.

7 (KJV) Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:
7 (ROH) Preto ochabnúc klesnú všetky ruky, a každé srdce človeka sa rozplynie.

8 (KJV) And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
8 (ROH) Predesia sa; kŕče a bolesti ich pochytia; budú sa svíjať ako žena, ktorá ide porodiť; každý bude s desením a v rozpakoch hľadieť na svojho blížneho; ich tváre budú horieť plameňom.

9 (KJV) Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
9 (ROH) Hľa, deň Hospodinov prichádza, ukrutný, prchlivosť a páľa hnevu, aby obrátil zem na púšť, a jej hriešnikov zahladí z nej.

10 (KJV) For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
10 (ROH) Lebo hviezdy nebies, ani ich najjasnejšie súhvezdia nedajú svietiť svojmu svetlu; slnce sa zatmie vtedy, keď bude vychádzať, a mesiac nedá svietiť svojmu svetlu.

11 (KJV) And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
11 (ROH) A navštívim zlosť na okruhu sveta a na bezbožných ich neprávosť. A spôsobím to, že prestane hrdosť pyšných, a vysokomyseľnosť tyranov ponížim.

12 (KJV) I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
12 (ROH) A učiním to, že bude mizerný človek drahší nad čisté zlato a obecný človek nad klenoty zo zlata z Ofíra.

13 (KJV) Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.
13 (ROH) Pre tú príčinu zatrasiem nebesami, a chvieť sa bude zem, takže sa pohne zo svojho miesta pre prchlivosť Hospodina Zástupov a pre deň pále jeho hnevu.

14 (KJV) And it shall be as the chased roe, and as a sheep that no man taketh up: they shall every man turn to his own people, and flee every one into his own land.
14 (ROH) A bude jako zaplašená srna a jako stádo oviec, kde nie je toho, kto by shromaždil; každý sa obráti k svojmu ľudu, a každý bude utekať do svojej zeme.

15 (KJV) Every one that is found shall be thrust through; and every one that is joined unto them shall fall by the sword.
15 (ROH) Každý, kto bude najdený, bude prebodnutý, a každý, kto bude dochytený, padne od meča.

16 (KJV) Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be spoiled, and their wives ravished.
16 (ROH) Ich deti budú porozrážané pred ich očami, ich domy budú olúpené a ich ženy sprznené.

17 (KJV) Behold, I will stir up the Medes against them, which shall not regard silver; and as for gold, they shall not delight in it.
17 (ROH) Hľa, ja zobudím na nich Médov, ktorí nebudú dbať o striebro a nebudú mať záľuby v zlate.

18 (KJV) Their bows also shall dash the young men to pieces; and they shall have no pity on the fruit of the womb; their eye shall not spare children.
18 (ROH) Ich luky porozrážajú mládencov, a nezľutujú sa nad plodom života; ich oko nebude ľutovať synov.

19 (KJV) And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.
19 (ROH) A bude Babylon, krása kráľovstiev, ozdoba, pýcha Chaldejov, ako podvrátenie od Boha, jako čo podvrátil Sodomu i Gomoru.

20 (KJV) It shall never be inhabited, neither shall it be dwelt in from generation to generation: neither shall the Arabian pitch tent there; neither shall the shepherds make their fold there.
20 (ROH) Nebude už viacej obydlený až na veky ani nebude obývaný do pokolenia a pokolenia, ani tam nepostaví stánu Arab, ani pastieri sa tam nepoložia so svojím stádom.

21 (KJV) But wild beasts of the desert shall lie there; and their houses shall be full of doleful creatures; and owls shall dwell there, and satyrs shall dance there.
21 (ROH) Ale tam budú brložiť divé mačky, a ich domy budú plné sôv, budú tam bývať pštrosi, a skákať tam budú démonské príšery;

22 (KJV) And the wild beasts of the islands shall cry in their desolate houses, and dragons in their pleasant palaces: and her time is near to come, and her days shall not be prolonged.
22 (ROH) na jeho opustených hradoch ozývať sa budú sebe navzájom hyeny a šakaly na palácoch rozkoše. A je už blízko, aby prišiel jeho čas, a jeho dni sa nepretiahnu.
