Kniha proroka Izaiáša

1 (KJV) Woe unto them that decree unrighteous decrees, and that write grievousness which they have prescribed;
1 (B21) Běda těm, kdo uzákoňují zlé zákony, těm, kdo sepisují kruté předpisy,

2 (KJV) To turn aside the needy from judgment, and to take away the right from the poor of my people, that widows may be their prey, and that they may rob the fatherless!
2 (B21) aby ovlivnili soudy s chudáky, ubohým v mém lidu aby právo upřeli, aby se vdovy staly jejich kořistí, aby okrádali sirotky!

3 (KJV) And what will ye do in the day of visitation, and in the desolation which shall come from far? to whom will ye flee for help? and where will ye leave your glory?
3 (B21) Co si počnete v den odplaty, až zdálky přižene se neštěstí? Koho poběžíte o pomoc poprosit? Kde zanecháte své bohatství?

4 (KJV) Without me they shall bow down under the prisoners, and they shall fall under the slain. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
4 (B21) Nezbude vám než se krčit s vězni, než padnout mezi mrtvými. Tím vším ale jeho hněv stále nekončí, jeho ruka se ještě chystá udeřit!

5 (KJV) O Assyrian, the rod of mine anger, and the staff in their hand is mine indignation.
5 (B21) Běda Asýrii, metle mého hněvu - hůl v jejich ruce je má prchlivost!

6 (KJV) I will send him against an hypocritical nation, and against the people of my wrath will I give him a charge, to take the spoil, and to take the prey, and to tread them down like the mire of the streets.
6 (B21) Vypravil jsem je proti bezbožnému národu, poslal jsem je na lid, jenž ve mně budí zlost, aby se vrhli na kořist, aby shrábli lup, aby je pošlapali jak bahno v ulicích.

7 (KJV) Howbeit he meaneth not so, neither doth his heart think so; but it is in his heart to destroy and cut off nations not a few.
7 (B21) Asyrský král však takto nepřemýšlí, jiné záměry nosí na srdci - myslí jen na to, jak by hubil, jak by vymýtil mnohé národy.

8 (KJV) For he saith, Are not my princes altogether kings?
8 (B21) Říká totiž: "Nejsou mí velitelé samí králové?

9 (KJV) Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus?
9 (B21) Nedopadlo Kalno jako Karkemiš? Nedopadl Chamát jako Arpád? Nedopadlo Samaří jako Damašek?

10 (KJV) As my hand hath found the kingdoms of the idols, and whose graven images did excel them of Jerusalem and of Samaria;
10 (B21) Má ruka uchvátila modlářská království, jež měla lepší sochy než Jeruzalém a Samaří.

11 (KJV) Shall I not, as I have done unto Samaria and her idols, so do to Jerusalem and her idols?
11 (B21) Co jsem provedl se Samařím a jeho modlami, to provedu s Jeruzalémem a jeho sochami!"

12 (KJV) Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.
12 (B21) Proto, až Pán dokončí vše, co chtěl vykonat proti hoře Sion a Jeruzalému, potrestá asyrského krále za jeho zpupnou pýchu a za to, jak s nadutě povýšeným pohledem

13 (KJV) For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man:
13 (B21) říká: "Svou vlastní silou jsem to způsobil a svou moudrostí - vždyť jsem zkušený! Hranice národů jsem odstranil, vyplenil jsem jejich poklady, zporážel jsem jejich trůny jako býk.

14 (KJV) And my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the people: and as one gathereth eggs that are left, have I gathered all the earth; and there was none that moved the wing, or opened the mouth, or peeped.
14 (B21) Bohatství národů má ruka pobrala, jako se hnízdo vybírá; jako se sbírají opuštěná vajíčka, tak jsem já celou zemi vysbíral a nikdo ani křídlem nezamával, neotevřel zobák, aby zapípal."

15 (KJV) Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? or shall the saw magnify itself against him that shaketh it? as if the rod should shake itself against them that lift it up, or as if the staff should lift up itself, as if it were no wood.
15 (B21) Honosí se sekera nad toho, kdo s ní seká? Povyšuje se pila nad svého drvoštěpa? Jako by metla mávala tím, kdo ji zvedá, a hůl se chlubila, že není dřevěná!

16 (KJV) Therefore shall the Lord, the Lord of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory he shall kindle a burning like the burning of a fire.
16 (B21) A proto Panovník, Hospodin zástupů, sešle na jejich vypasence úbytě a pod jejich chloubou zapálí plamen nejprudší.

17 (KJV) And the light of Israel shall be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame: and it shall burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day;
17 (B21) Světlo Izraele se stane ohněm, jejich Svatý bude plamenem; v jediném dni ten oheň pohltí jejich trní i bodláčí.

18 (KJV) And shall consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and they shall be as when a standardbearer fainteth.
18 (B21) Jejich krásné lesy i zahrady až ke kořenům vypálí, jako když choré sklátí choroba.

19 (KJV) And the rest of the trees of his forest shall be few, that a child may write them.
19 (B21) Z lesů jim zůstane tak málo stromů, že by je i dítě mohlo spočítat.

20 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the LORD, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
20 (B21) V ten den už pozůstatek Izraele a ti, kdo se zachrání z domu Jákobova, nebudou spoléhat na toho, kdo je bije, ale budou opravdově spoléhat na Hospodina, Svatého izraelského.

21 (KJV) The remnant shall return, even the remnant of Jacob, unto the mighty God.
21 (B21) Pozůstatek se navrátí, pozůstatek Jákoba se navrátí k Mocnému Bohu.

22 (KJV) For though thy people Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet a remnant of them shall return: the consumption decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
22 (B21) I kdyby tvého lidu, Izraeli, bylo jako písku v moři, jen pozůstatek se navrátí. Záhuba už je rozhodnuta, spravedlnost přijde jako záplava.

23 (KJV) For the Lord GOD of hosts shall make a consumption, even determined, in the midst of all the land.
23 (B21) Pán, Hospodin zástupů, se rozhodl přivést na celou zemi záhubu.

24 (KJV) Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD of hosts, O my people that dwellest in Zion, be not afraid of the Assyrian: he shall smite thee with a rod, and shall lift up his staff against thee, after the manner of Egypt.
24 (B21) Nuže, toto praví Pán, Hospodin zástupů: "Můj lide, jenž bydlíš na Sionu, neboj se Asyřanů, kteří tě bijí metlou a zvedají na tebe hůl tak jako kdysi Egyptští.

25 (KJV) For yet a very little while, and the indignation shall cease, and mine anger in their destruction.
25 (B21) Má prchlivost totiž velmi brzy skončí a můj hněv se obrátí k jejich záhubě."

26 (KJV) And the LORD of hosts shall stir up a scourge for him according to the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb: and as his rod was upon the sea, so shall he lift it up after the manner of Egypt.
26 (B21) Hospodin zástupů po nich šlehne bičem, jako když porazil Midiánce u Havraní skály; zvedne hůl nad moře tak jako kdysi v Egyptě.

27 (KJV) And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.
27 (B21) V ten den jejich břemeno spadne z tvého ramene a jejich jho ze tvé šíje - jho se po oleji sesmekne.

28 (KJV) He is come to Aiath, he is passed to Migron; at Michmash he hath laid up his carriages:
28 (B21) Přitáhli do Ajatu, prošli Migronem, v Michmasu zřídili si skladiště.

29 (KJV) They are gone over the passage: they have taken up their lodging at Geba; Ramah is afraid; Gibeah of Saul is fled.
29 (B21) Prošli průsmykem: "Přenocujeme v Gebě!" Ráma se vyděsila, Gibea Saulova se dala na útěk.

30 (KJV) Lift up thy voice, O daughter of Gallim: cause it to be heard unto Laish, O poor Anathoth.
30 (B21) Galimská dcero, hlasitě naříkej! Laišo, poslouchej! Anatote, přidej se!

31 (KJV) Madmenah is removed; the inhabitants of Gebim gather themselves to flee.
31 (B21) Madmena se rozutekla, obyvatelé Gebimu skryli se.

32 (KJV) As yet shall he remain at Nob that day: he shall shake his hand against the mount of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
32 (B21) V Nobu se zastaví ještě dnes, proti hoře Dcery sionské zvednou pěst, pohrozí jeruzalémské výšině.

33 (KJV) Behold, the Lord, the LORD of hosts, shall lop the bough with terror: and the high ones of stature shall be hewn down, and the haughty shall be humbled.
33 (B21) Avšak hle, Panovník, Hospodin zástupů, strašlivou silou ty větve oklestí. Pokácí ty statné velikány, sraženi budou i nejvyšší.

34 (KJV) And he shall cut down the thickets of the forest with iron, and Lebanon shall fall by a mighty one.
34 (B21) Sekerou vymýtí ty lesní houštiny, libanonský les padne před Vznešeným!
