Kniha proroka Izaiáša

1 (CPDV) Woe to those who make unfair laws, and who, when writing, write injustice:
1 (KAT) Beda tým, čo uzákoňujú zlé zákony, a pisárom, ktorí spisujú útlak,

2 (CPDV) in order to oppress the poor in judgment, and to do violence to the case of the humble of my people, in order that widows may be their prey, and that they might plunder the orphan.
2 (KAT) aby drobných ľudí odtisli od práva a biednych môjho ľudu odviedli od pravdy, aby vdovy boli ich korisťou a aby ozbíjali siroty.

3 (CPDV) What will you do on the day of visitation and calamity which is approaching from afar? To whom will you flee for assistance? And where will you leave behind your own glory,
3 (KAT) Čo však spravíte v deň navštívenia, keď nešťastie príde zďaleka? Ku komu sa budete utiekať o pomoc a kde zanecháte svoje bohatstvo?

4 (CPDV) so that you may not be bowed down under the chains, and fall with the slain? Concerning all this, his fury was not turned away; instead, his hand was still extended.
4 (KAT) Dostanete sa len medzi zajatcov a medzi pozabíjaných padnete. Tým všetkým nie je odvrátený jeho hnev a jeho ruka je ešte vystretá.

5 (CPDV) Woe to Assur! He is the rod and the staff of my fury, and my indignation is in their hands.
5 (KAT) Beda Asýrsku, je prútom môjho hnevu a palicou v ich rukách je moja prchkosť.

6 (CPDV) I will send him to a deceitful nation, and I will order him against the people of my fury, so that he may take away the plunder, and tear apart the prey, and place it to be trampled like the mud of the streets.
6 (KAT) K rúhavému národu ho posielam, proti ľudu môjho hnevu dávam rozkaz, aby koristil korisť a zbíjal zboj a aby ho rozšliapal ako blato ulíc.

7 (CPDV) But he will not consider it to be so, and his heart will not suppose it to be this way. Instead, his heart will be set to crush and to exterminate more than a few nations.
7 (KAT) Ale on tak nezmýšľa a jeho srdce tak nemieni, lež v mysli má vyničiť a vyhubiť nemálo národov.

8 (CPDV) For he will say:
8 (KAT) Veď hovorí: „Či nie sú moje kniežatá všetky kráľmi?

9 (CPDV) “Are not my princes like many kings? Is not Calno like Carchemish, and Hamath like Arpad? Is not Samaria like Damascus?
9 (KAT) Či nie je Kalano ako Karkemis? Či nie je Emat ako Arpad? Či nie je Samária ako Damask?

10 (CPDV) In the same manner as my hand reached the kingdoms of the idol, so also will it reach their false images, those of Jerusalem and of Samaria. 402
10 (KAT) Ako zasiahla moja ruka kráľovstvá bôžikov - a modiel mali veru viac než Jeruzalem (a Samária).

11 (CPDV) Should I not do to Jerusalem and her false images, just as I have done to Samaria and her idols?”
11 (KAT) Či tak, ako som urobil Samárii a jej bôžikom, neurobím tiež Jeruzalemu a jeho modlám?“

12 (CPDV) And this shall be: when the Lord will have completed each of his works on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, I will act against the fruit of the exalted heart of king Assur, and against the glory of the haughtiness of his eyes.
12 (KAT) Keď Pán doplní celé svoje dielo na vrchu Sion a v Jeruzaleme, navštívim pyšný výplod srdca asýrskeho kráľa a nadutú hrdosť jeho očí.

13 (CPDV) For he has said: “I have acted with the strength of my own hand, and I have understood with my own wisdom, and I have removed the limits of the people, and I have plundered their leaders, and, like one with power, I have pulled down those residing on high.
13 (KAT) Lebo hovorí: „Silou svojej ruky som to urobil a svojou múdrosťou, lebo som rozumný; odstránil som hranice národov, ich poklady som ukoristil a sťa obor som zvrhol tých, čo sedeli na tróne.

14 (CPDV) And my hand has reached to the strength of the people, as to a nest. And, just as the eggs which have been left behind are gathered, so have I gathered the entire earth. And there was no one who moved a wing, or opened a mouth, or uttered a snarl.”
14 (KAT) Moja ruka našla ako hniezdo bohatstvo národov a ako sa zhrabujú opustené vajcia, zhrabol som ja celú krajinu a nebolo, kto by krídlom strepotal a ústa otvoril a spišťal.“

15 (CPDV) Should the axe glorify itself over him who wields it? Or can the saw exalt itself over him who pulls it? How can a rod lift itself up against him who wields it, or a staff exalt itself, though it is only wood?
15 (KAT) Či sa môže vypínať sekera nad toho, čo ňou hýbe? Či sa môže vyvyšovať píla nad toho, kto ju ťahá? Akoby prút hýbal tými, čo ho dvíhajú, akoby palica dvíhala toho, ktorý nie je drevom.

16 (CPDV) Because of this, the sovereign Lord, the Lord of hosts, will send leanness among his fat ones. And under the influence of his glory, a burning ardor will rage, like a consuming fire.
16 (KAT) Preto pošle Pán, Vládca zástupov, na jeho silákov suchoty a pod jeho pýchou bude pražiť ako požiar oheň.

17 (CPDV) And the light of Israel will be like a fire, and the Holy One of Israel will be like a flame. And his thorns and briers will be set ablaze and devoured, in one day.
17 (KAT) Svetlo Izraela bude ohňom, a jeho Svätý plameňom. I bude horieť a strávi jeho tŕnie a bodľač v jeden deň.

18 (CPDV) And the glory of his forest and of his beautiful hill will be consumed, from the soul even to the flesh. And he will flee away in terror.
18 (KAT) Nádheru jeho lesa a hája znivočí od vrcholu až po koreň, že bude, ako kto hynie horúčkou.

19 (CPDV) And what remain of the trees of his forest will be so few, and so easily numbered, that even a child could write them down.
19 (KAT) Zvyšok stromov jeho lesa bude maličký, že to chlapček spočíta.

20 (CPDV) And this shall be in that day: those not added to the remnant of Israel, and those who escape of the house of Jacob, will not lean upon him who strikes them. Instead, they will lean upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
20 (KAT) V ten deň sa zvyšok Izraela a zachránení Jakubovho domu nebudú viac opierať o toho, kto ich bije, lež úprimne sa budú opierať na Pána, Svätého Izraela.

21 (CPDV) The remnant of Jacob, again I say the remnant, will be converted to the mighty God.
21 (KAT) Zvyšok sa obráti, zvyšok Jakubov k mocnému Bohu.

22 (CPDV) For though your people, O Israel, will be like the sand of the sea, yet only a remnant of them will be converted. The consummation, having been shortened, will be inundated with justice.
22 (KAT) Lebo čo by bolo tvojho ľudu, Izrael, ako piesku mora, len zvyšok z neho sa obráti. Záhuba ustanovená - prevláda spravodlivosť!

23 (CPDV) For the Lord, the God of hosts, will accomplish an abbreviation and a consummation, in the midst of all the earth.
23 (KAT) Lebo záhubu, a to neodvratnú, vykoná Vládca, Pán zástupov, prostred celej zeme.

24 (CPDV) For this reason, the Lord, the God of hosts, says this: “My people, who inhabit Zion: do not be afraid of Assur. He will strike you with his rod, and he will lift up his staff over you, on the way of Egypt.
24 (KAT) Preto takto vraví Vládca, Pán zástupov: „Neboj sa, ľud môj, čo bývaš na Sione, Asýra, ktorý ťa bije prútom a dvíha na teba svoju palicu ako Egypt.

25 (CPDV) But after a little while and a brief time, my indignation will be consumed, and my fury will turn to their wickedness.”
25 (KAT) Veď už len krátku chvíľku a prestane zloba a môj hnev bude ničiť ich.“

26 (CPDV) And the Lord of hosts will raise up a scourge over him, like the scourge of Midian at the rock of Oreb, and he will raise up his rod over the sea, and he will lift it up against the way of Egypt.
26 (KAT) Pán zástupov zdvihne nad nimi svoj bič, ako keď bil Madiánčana na skale Oreb, a svoju palicu pozdvihne nad more ako proti Egyptu.

27 (CPDV) And this shall be in that day: his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, and his yoke will be taken away from your neck, and the yoke will decay at the appearance of the oil.
27 (KAT) V ten deň spadne jeho bremä z tvojho pleca a jeho jarmo z tvojej šije: jarmo sa zláme od tučnoty.

28 (CPDV) He will approach Aiath; he will cross into Migron; he will entrust his vessels to Michmash.
28 (KAT) Ide na Ajat, tiahne cez Magron, v Machmase si necháva batožinu,

29 (CPDV) They have passed through in haste; Geba is our seat; Ramah was stupefied; Gibeah of Saul fled.
29 (KAT) prechádza priechodom: „Geba nám bude nocľahom.“ Trasie sa Ráma, Šaulova Gabaa uteká.

30 (CPDV) Neigh with your voice, daughter of Gallim; pay attention, Laishah, impoverished woman of Anathoth.
30 (KAT) Kvíľ hlasito, dcéra Galima, počúvajže, Laisa, úbohý Anatot.

31 (CPDV) Madmenah has moved away; be strengthened, you inhabitants of Gebim.
31 (KAT) Uteká Medemena, obyvatelia Gebimu bežia.

32 (CPDV) It is still daylight, so stand at Nob. He will shake his hand against the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.
32 (KAT) Ešte dnes má zastať v Nobe, zamáva rukou nad vrchom dcéry Siona, nad pahorkom Jeruzalema.

33 (CPDV) Behold, the sovereign Lord of hosts will crush the little bottle of wine with terror, and the exalted in stature will be cut down, and the lofty will be brought low.
33 (KAT) Hľa, Vládca, Pán zástupov, poobtína vetvy náporom; čo vysoko vzrástlo, bude sťaté, čo je vznešené, klesne.

34 (CPDV) And the dense forest will be overturned with iron. And Lebanon, with its exalted ones, will fall.
34 (KAT) Obkliesnená bude húšť lesa železom a Libanon padne s velikášmi.
