1 (KJV) The song of songs, which is Solomon's.
1 (HEM) שיר השירים אשר לשלמה׃
1 (KAT) Veľpieseň od Šalamúna.
2 (KJV) Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
2 (HEM) ישקני מנשיקות פיהו כי טובים דדיך מיין׃
2 (KAT) Zľúbaj ma bozkami svojich úst, bo láska tvoja lepšia je nad víno.
3 (KJV) Because of the savour of thy good ointments thy name is as ointment poured forth, therefore do the virgins love thee.
3 (HEM) לריח שמניך טובים שמן תורק שמך על כן עלמות אהבוך׃
3 (KAT) Dobrá je vôňa tvojich olejkov; jak olej rozliaty je tvoje meno. Zato ťa dievčence majú tak rady.
4 (KJV) Draw me, we will run after thee: the king hath brought me into his chambers: we will be glad and rejoice in thee, we will remember thy love more than wine: the upright love thee.
4 (HEM) משכני אחריך נרוצה הביאני המלך חדריו נגילה ונשמחה בך נזכירה דדיך מיין מישרים אהבוך׃
4 (KAT) Tiahni ma za sebou! Pobežme! Zaveď ma, kráľ, do svojej komnaty! Tam jasať budeme a z teba tešiť sa a ľúbosť tvoju vynášať viac ako víno. Ozaj, právom ťa milujú.
5 (KJV) I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon.
5 (HEM) שחורה אני ונאוה בנות ירושלם כאהלי קדר כיריעות שלמה׃
5 (KAT) Ja čierna som, no pekná jednako, dcéry jeruzalemské, jak stany kedarské, jak plachty šiatrov šalmaských.
6 (KJV) Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
6 (HEM) אל תראוני שאני שחרחרת ששזפתני השמש בני אמי נחרו בי שמני נטרה את הכרמים כרמי שלי לא נטרתי׃
6 (KAT) Nehľaďte na mňa, že som čierna, že ma tak opálilo slnko! Synovia mojej matky zanevreli na mňa, postavili ma strážiť (svoje) vinice, nuž o vinicu svoju dbať som nemohla.
7 (KJV) Tell me, O thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon: for why should I be as one that turneth aside by the flocks of thy companions?
7 (HEM) הגידה לי שאהבה נפשי איכה תרעה איכה תרביץ בצהרים שלמה אהיה כעטיה על עדרי חבריך׃
7 (KAT) Povedz mi ty, ktorého z tej duše milujem, kde pásavaš, kde odpočívaš cez poludnie, aby som sa nemusela potĺkať od stáda ku stádu druhov tvojich.
8 (KJV) If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
8 (HEM) אם לא תדעי לך היפה בנשים צאי לך בעקבי הצאן ורעי את גדיתיך על משכנות הרעים׃
8 (KAT) Nevieš to, ty, zo žien najkrajšia? Nuž choď len čriedam po stopách a kozliatka svoje pri pastierskych kolibách popásaj!
9 (KJV) I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
9 (HEM) לססתי ברכבי פרעה דמיתיך רעיתי׃
9 (KAT) K paripám v kočoch faraónových ťa môžem prirovnať, priateľka moja.
10 (KJV) Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
10 (HEM) נאוו לחייך בתרים צוארך בחרוזים׃
10 (KAT) Ako len svedčia lícam tvojim ozdobné retiazky a šiji tvojej náhrdelníky koralové!
11 (KJV) We will make thee borders of gold with studs of silver.
11 (HEM) תורי זהב נעשה לך עם נקדות הכסף׃
11 (KAT) Dáme ti vytepať zlatých retiazok so striebornými zvončekmi.
12 (KJV) While the king sitteth at his table, my spikenard sendeth forth the smell thereof.
12 (HEM) עד שהמלך במסבו נרדי נתן ריחו׃
12 (KAT) Pokiaľ kráľ hovie na svojom ležadle, vydáva môj nard svoju vôňu.
13 (KJV) A bundle of myrrh is my wellbeloved unto me; he shall lie all night betwixt my breasts.
13 (HEM) צרור המר דודי לי בין שדי ילין׃
13 (KAT) Vrecúškom myrhy je mi môj milý; odpočíva mi na prsiach.
14 (KJV) My beloved is unto me as a cluster of camphire in the vineyards of En-gedi.
14 (HEM) אשכל הכפר דודי לי בכרמי עין גדי׃
14 (KAT) Môj milý je mi strapcom cyprovým vo vinohradoch Engadi.
15 (KJV) Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.
15 (HEM) הנך יפה רעיתי הנך יפה עיניך יונים׃
15 (KAT) Aká si krásna, priateľka moja, aká spanilá! Tvoje oči sú sťa holubice!
16 (KJV) Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
16 (HEM) הנך יפה דודי אף נעים אף ערשנו רעננה׃
16 (KAT) Aký si krásny, milý môj, aký pôvabný! Postieľka naša samá zeleň!
17 (KJV) The beams of our house are cedar, and our rafters of fir.
17 (HEM) קרות בתינו ארזים רחיטנו ברותים׃
17 (KAT) Cédre sú trámami nášho paláca, doskami našich stien sú cyprusy.

Verš 2
Let him kiss me with the kisses of his mouth: for thy love is better than wine.
Pie 4:10 - How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! how much better is thy love than wine! and the smell of thine ointments than all spices!

Dt 12:5 - But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:
Pie 3:1 - By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.
Verš 8
If thou know not, O thou fairest among women, go thy way forth by the footsteps of the flock, and feed thy kids beside the shepherds' tents.
Pie 5:9 - What is thy beloved more than another beloved, O thou fairest among women? what is thy beloved more than another beloved, that thou dost so charge us?
Pie 6:1 - Whither is thy beloved gone, O thou fairest among women? whither is thy beloved turned aside? that we may seek him with thee.

I have compared thee, O my love, to a company of horses in Pharaoh's chariots.
Pie 2:2 - As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.
Pie 2:10 - My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
Pie 2:13 - The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.
Pie 4:1 - Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.
Pie 4:7 - Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee.
Pie 5:2 - I sleep, but my heart waketh: it is the voice of my beloved that knocketh, saying, Open to me, my sister, my love, my dove, my undefiled: for my head is filled with dew, and my locks with the drops of the night.
Pie 6:4 - Thou art beautiful, O my love, as Tirzah, comely as Jerusalem, terrible as an army with banners.
Jn 15:14 - Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Thy cheeks are comely with rows of jewels, thy neck with chains of gold.
Ez 16:11 - I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.

Behold, thou art fair, my beloved, yea, pleasant: also our bed is green.
Pie 4:1 - Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes within thy locks: thy hair is as a flock of goats, that appear from mount Gilead.
Pie 5:12 - His eyes are as the eyes of doves by the rivers of waters, washed with milk, and fitly set.
Pies 1,1 - O Šalamúnovom autorstve Veľpiesne pozri úvod.
Pies 1,3 - Vzácny olej urodzení obyvatelia Šalamúnovej krajiny mávali v dobre zatvorených nádobách. Len jeho rozliatím sa roznášala jeho vôňa. Iní prekladajú "olej prelievaný", prelievaním pozbavený nečistoty, teda veľmi čistý.
Pies 1,4 - V Palestíne sa manželia nazývajú kráľ a kráľovná, kým trvá sobáš, a ten u niektorých bohatších rodín trval aj niekoľko dní. V tom čase novomanželia sedávali na napodobenom tróne a hostia im vzdávali priamo kráľovské pocty.
Pies 1,5 - Kedar, Šalma, mená severoarabských beduínskych kmeňov. Pleť snúbenice podobá sa farbe stanov, ktoré boli z hnedej kozej srsti.
Pies 1,6 - Bratia snúbenice na Východe mali plnú právomoc, keď zomrel otec.
Pies 1,7 - Pastieri sa cez poludnie zdržiavali pri nejakom prameni, kde napájali stáda a kde potom trávili svoj odpočinok.
Pies 1,9 - Faraón mal rád prepych. Jeho kone boli najkrajšie a skvostne vyzdobené.
Pies 1,12 - Nard nosievali ženy pre jeho silnú vôňu vo vrecúškach na prsiach.
Pies 1,14 - Cyprusový ker je zo dva metre vysoký a v kvete šíri vôkol seba silnú vôňu. Z jeho kvetov strapcového tvaru sa získava voňavka. Rástol vo viniciach utešenej oázy (Engadi) na západnom brehu Mŕtveho mora.
Pies 1,17 - Predstava je táto: Snúbenci si sadli na zelenú pažiť. Majestátne cédre so svojimi vetvami sú kostrou, stĺpmi a povalou ich "domu" a menšie cyprusy sú výplňou stien.
