1 (UKJV) Who is as the wise man? and who knows the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom makes his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed.
1 (ROH) Kto je ako múdry, a kto zná výklad veci? Múdrosť človeka osvecuje jeho tvár, a tvrdosť jeho tvári sa mení.

2 (UKJV) I counsel you to keep the king's commandment, and that in regard of the oath of God.
2 (ROH) Ja ti radím: Ostríhaj slovo kráľovo, a to pre prísahu Božiu.

3 (UKJV) "Be not hasty to go out of his sight: stand not in an evil thing; for he does whatsoever pleases him. "
3 (ROH) Neponáhľaj sa odísť zpred jeho tvári ani nestoj v zlej veci, lebo učiní všetko, čo chce;

4 (UKJV) Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What do you?
4 (ROH) pretože slovo kráľovo má moc, a kto mu povie: Čo robíš?

5 (UKJV) Whoso keeps the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerns both time and judgment.
5 (ROH) Ten, kto ostríha prikázanie, nepozná ničoho zlého. A srdce múdreho pozná čas a súd.

6 (UKJV) Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him.
6 (ROH) Lebo každá vec má svoj čas a súd, pretože zlo človeka je mnohé na ňom.

7 (UKJV) For he knows not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?
7 (ROH) Lebo nevie toho, čo bude; lebo jako bude, kto mu to oznámi?

8 (UKJV) "There is no man that has power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither has he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it. "
8 (ROH) Niet človeka, ktorý by vládol nad duchom, aby zadržal ducha, ani niet vlády nado dňom smrti, ani niet prepustenia z toho boja, ako ani nezachráni bezbožnosť toho, kto ju pácha.

9 (UKJV) All this have I seen, and applied my heart unto every work that is done under the sun: there is a time wherein one man rules over another to his own hurt.
9 (ROH) To všetko som videl priložiac svoje srdce ku každému dielu, ktoré sa deje pod slnkom, a videl som i to, že niekedy vládne človek nad človekom na svoje zlé.

10 (UKJV) And so I saw the wicked buried, who had come and gone from the place of the holy, and they were forgotten in the city where they had so done: this is also vanity.
10 (ROH) A tak som videl bezbožných pochovaných, a došli pokoja; ale zo svätého miesta odišli a boli zabudnutí v meste tí, ktorí robili spravedlivo. Aj to je márnosť.

11 (UKJV) Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
11 (ROH) Pretože sa ihneď nevykonáva súdny výrok za zlý skutok, preto je plné srdce synov človeka v nich robiť zlé.

12 (UKJV) Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
12 (ROH) Hoci sa niekedy hriešnikovi, ktorý vykoná i stokrát zlé, odkladá, viem i to cele iste, že bude dobre tým, ktorí sa boja Boha, ktorí sa boja jeho tvári.

13 (UKJV) "But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he fears not before God. "
13 (ROH) Ale nebude dobre bezbožnému, ani nepredĺži svojich dní, ktoré sa pominú jako tieň, pretože sa nebojí tvári Božej.

14 (UKJV) "There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happens according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happens according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity. "
14 (ROH) Je márnosť, ktorá sa deje na zemi, že sú spravedliví, ktorých stíha zlé, jako keby robili skutky bezbožných, a sú bezbožní, ktorých stíha dobré, jako keby robili skutky spravedlivých. Povedal som, že aj to je márnosť.

15 (UKJV) Then I commended delight, because a man has no better thing under the sun, than to eat, and to drink, and to be merry: for that shall abide with him of his labour the days of his life, which God gives him under the sun.
15 (ROH) Preto som vychvaľoval radosť, pretože človek nemá ničoho dobrého pod slncom krome jesť a piť a radovať sa, a to aby ho sprevádzalo v jeho trudnej práci vo dňoch jeho života, ktoré mu dal Bôh pod slnkom.

16 (UKJV) When I applied mine heart to know wisdom, and to see the business that is done upon the earth: (for also there is that neither day nor night sees sleep with his eyes:)
16 (ROH) A keď som priložil svoje srdce, aby som poznal múdrosť a videl zamestnanie, ktoré sa vykonáva na zemi, lebo ani vodne ani vnoci nevidí človek spánku na svojich očiach,

17 (UKJV) "Then I beheld all the work of God, that a man cannot find out the work that is done under the sun: because though a man labour to seek it out, yet he shall not find it; yea farther; though a wise man think to know it, yet shall he not be able to find it. "
17 (ROH) videl som všetko dielo Boha, že človek nemôže vystihnúť dielo, ktoré sa deje pod slnkom; keby sa i jakokoľvek namáhal človek vyhľadať, nenajde, ba ani keby povedal múdry, že pozná, nebude môcť najsť.
