Prís 8, 1-36

1 (KJV) Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?
1 (B21) Což moudrost nevolá, nezvedá rozumnost svůj hlas?

2 (KJV) She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.
2 (B21) Na vrcholech kopců, u cesty, u křižovatek postává.

3 (KJV) She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.
3 (B21) Přímo před branami, u vstupu do města, v průchodu stojí a křičí tam:

4 (KJV) Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.
4 (B21) "Na vás, ó lidé, volám, svůj hlas ke všemu lidstvu obracím.

5 (KJV) O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.
5 (B21) Pochopte, prosťáčci, prozíravost, dospějte, tupci, k rozumu!

6 (KJV) Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.
6 (B21) Slyšte, řeknu vám něco zásadního, co vyjde z mých rtů, slova ryzí jsou.

7 (KJV) For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
7 (B21) Má ústa mluví pouze pravdu, mým rtům se darebáctví oškliví.

8 (KJV) All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.
8 (B21) Všechny mé výroky jsou spravedlivé, křivého, zvráceného v nich není nic.

9 (KJV) They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.
9 (B21) Chápavému jsou všechny zřejmé, jasné jsou těm, kdo došli poznání.

10 (KJV) Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
10 (B21) Mé poučení berte raději než stříbro, mého vědění si važte nad zlato.

11 (KJV) For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
11 (B21) Daleko nad perly je moudrost nádherná, nic žádoucího se jí vůbec nerovná!

12 (KJV) I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.
12 (B21) Já, Moudrost, spolu s rozvážností bydlím, s prozíravostí já se dobře znám.

13 (KJV) The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
13 (B21) Úcta k Hospodinu je nenávist ke zlu. Pýchu a povýšenost, zlé způsoby a pokrytecká ústa nesnáším.

14 (KJV) Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.
14 (B21) U mne je rozvaha a jistý úspěch, já jsem rozumnost a sílu mám!

15 (KJV) By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.
15 (B21) S mojí pomocí vládnou vladaři a panovníci právo určují.

16 (KJV) By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.
16 (B21) S mojí pomocí vedou vůdci, velmoži a všichni, kdo rozhodují na zemi.

17 (KJV) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.
17 (B21) Já miluji ty, kdo milují mne, ti, kdo mě hledají, mě jistě naleznou.

18 (KJV) Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.
18 (B21) Bohatství a sláva se nachází u mě, trvalé jmění a pravý blahobyt.

19 (KJV) My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.
19 (B21) Mé plody jsou nad zlato nejryzejší, výnosy mé nad stříbro nejčistší.

20 (KJV) I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:
20 (B21) Stezkou spravedlnosti kráčím, pěšinami práva se ubírám,

21 (KJV) That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.
21 (B21) abych své milovníky obdařila jměním, jejich pokladnice abych plnila!

22 (KJV) The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.
22 (B21) Na počátku své cesty mne Hospodin zplodil, před všemi svými činy, před časem.

23 (KJV) I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.
23 (B21) Od věků jsem byla ustavena, od počátku, dříve než začal svět.

24 (KJV) When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.
24 (B21) Než vznikly propasti, zrodila jsem se, než vodou naplněny byly prameny.

25 (KJV) Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:
25 (B21) Předtím než byly hory zapuštěny, dříve než pahorky jsem se zrodila,

26 (KJV) While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.
26 (B21) ještě než učinil zemi a vše kolem, dříve než světa první prach.

27 (KJV) When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:
27 (B21) Byla jsem při tom, když nebesa chystal, když nad propastí obzor vyměřil,

28 (KJV) When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:
28 (B21) oblaka když ve výšinách věšel, propastné prameny když vytryskly.

29 (KJV) When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:
29 (B21) Byla jsem tam, když oceán spoutal, na jeho rozkaz vody poslechly! Základy země když vyměřoval,

30 (KJV) Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;
30 (B21) po jeho boku věrně stála jsem. Zůstávám jeho rozkoší den za dnem, svým hrám se před ním stále oddávám.

31 (KJV) Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.
31 (B21) Na jeho zemi, na světě si hraji, lidští synové jsou mou rozkoší!

32 (KJV) Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.
32 (B21) Proto, synové, poslyšte mne: Blaze těm, kdo drží se mých cest!

33 (KJV) Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
33 (B21) Slyšte poučení a naberte moudrost, nebuďte ke mně lhostejní.

34 (KJV) Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
34 (B21) Blaze tomu, kdo naslouchá mi, tomu, kdo v mých branách denně bdí, tomu, kdo čeká u mých veřejí!

35 (KJV) For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
35 (B21) Kdo mě nalezl, nalezl život, Hospodinovou přízní se nechal zahrnout.

36 (KJV) But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
36 (B21) Kdo však mě míjí, škodí své vlastní duši, kdo mě nenávidí, je smrti milencem."

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

Ž 119:1 - Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Ž 128:1 - Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.

Lk 11:28 - But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

Prís 1:20 - Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:

For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Jób 28:15 - It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

Ž 19:10 - More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Prís 3:14 - For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

Prís 16:16 - How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

Prís 3:16 - Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.

I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

Jób 26:10 - He hath compassed the waters with bounds, until the day and night come to an end.

When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

Gn 7:11 - In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.

When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

Gn 1:9 - And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.

Jób 38:10 - And brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors,

Ž 104:9 - Thou hast set a bound that they may not pass over; that they turn not again to cover the earth.

Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Pris 8,1-7 - Zosobnená múdrosť vystupuje všade, kde sa hmýri život (v. 1–3), ako kazateľka pravdy (v. 4–7); porov. 1,20–33.

Pris 8,22-31 - Pôvod všetkej múdrosti je v Bohu. Nemyslí sa tu však na stvorenú (ľudskú) múdrosť, ale na nejakú múdrosť vyššiu, lebo sa jej pripisujú také vlastnosti, čo patria, alebo čo sa môžu pripisovať iba Bohu. Nuž a táto nestvorená, večná múdrosť nebola len na začiatku stvoriteľskej Božej činnosti (v. 22); a tým menej nie iba odvtedy a vtedy, keď už spolupracovala s Bohom pri stvorení neviditeľných a viditeľných svetov (v. 30). Bola od samého počiatku, prv než Boh začal konať navonok, ba podľa vážnych exegétov (Knabenbauer) bola dôvodom, že sa Boh zjavil v stvorenstve, že začal konať navonok. Nuž podľa toho katolícki exegéti chápu túto múdrosť rozmanite. Jedni vidia v nej len nadzmyslovú zosobnenú múdrosť. Iní zas v nej vidia zosobnenú múdrosť Božiu (vlastnosť Božiu, Sapientia essentialis). Tí, čo idú ešte ďalej, napokon v nej vidia bytosť skutočnú a samostatnú (hypostázu, naozajstnú osobu). Tá, vystrojená vlastnosťami Božími, zúčastňuje sa na stvoriteľskej a spravujúcej činnosti Božej (Sapientia notionalis). – Pozri pozn. ku Knihe Jób 28,1.
