1 (UKJV) My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow your ear to my understanding:
1 (ROH) Môj synu, nože pozoruj na moju múdrosť a nakloň svoje ucho k mojej umnosti,

2 (UKJV) That you may regard discretion, and that your lips may keep knowledge.
2 (ROH) aby si ostríhal obozretnosť, a tvoje rty aby pozorovaly na známosť.

3 (UKJV) For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
3 (ROH) Lebo rty cudzej ženy kvapkajú medom, a jej ústa sú hladšie ako olej.

4 (UKJV) But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.
4 (ROH) Ale jej koniec je horký jako palina; je ostrý jako dvojsečný meč.

5 (UKJV) "Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell. "
5 (ROH) Jej nohy sostupujú do smrti; jej kroky sa držia pekla.

6 (UKJV) Lest you should ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that you can not know them.
6 (ROH) Len aby nejako neuvážila cesty života, jej drahy sa túlajú; nevie, čo robí.

7 (UKJV) Hear me now therefore, O all of you children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
7 (ROH) Preto teraz, synovia, poslúchajte ma a neuhnite od rečí mojich úst.

8 (UKJV) Remove your way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
8 (ROH) Vzdiaľ svoju cestu od nej a nepribližuj sa ku dveriam jej domu,

9 (UKJV) Lest you give your honour unto others, and your years unto the cruel:
9 (ROH) aby si nedal iným svojej slávy a svojich rokov ukrutníkovi;

10 (UKJV) "Lest strangers be filled with your wealth; and your labours be in the house of a stranger; "
10 (ROH) aby sa nenasýtili cudzí tvojej sily, a tvoje práce aby nezostaly v dome cudzinca.

11 (UKJV) And you mourn at the last, when your flesh and your body are consumed,
11 (ROH) A reval by si ku svojmu koncu, keď by si zničil svoje telo a svoje mäso

12 (UKJV) "And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; "
12 (ROH) a povedal by si: Ej, ako som nenávidel kázne, a moje srdce pohŕdalo káraním!

13 (UKJV) And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!
13 (ROH) A nepočúval som na hlas svojich učiteľov a nenaklonil som svojho ucha k tým, ktorí ma učili.

14 (UKJV) I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
14 (ROH) Málo chýbalo, a bol by som býval v každom zle, prostred shromaždenia a obce.

15 (UKJV) Drink waters out of your own cistern, and running waters out of your own well.
15 (ROH) Pi vodu zo svojej cisterny a tečúce vody zo svojej vlastnej studne.

16 (UKJV) Let your fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
16 (ROH) Či sa budú rozlievať tvoje pramene ta von, po uliciach potoky vôd?

17 (UKJV) Let them be only your own, and not strangers' with you.
17 (ROH) Nech sú pre teba pre samého a nie pre cudzích s tebou.

18 (UKJV) Let your fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of your youth.
18 (ROH) Nech je tvoj prameň požehnaný, a raduj sa zo ženy svojej mladosti.

19 (UKJV) "Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and be you ravished always with her love. "
19 (ROH) Jako ľúbezná laň a utešená srna; nech ťa opájajú jej prsia každého času; v jej láske sa kochaj ustavične.

20 (UKJV) And why will you, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
20 (ROH) A prečo by si sa kochal, môj synu, v cudzej a prečo by si objímal ňádra cudzozemky?

21 (UKJV) For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his activities.
21 (ROH) Lebo cesty človeka sú pred očima Hospodinovými, a on váži všetky jeho stezy.

22 (UKJV) His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
22 (ROH) Jeho vlastné neprávosti zajmú bezbožného, a uviazne v povrazoch svojho hriechu.

23 (UKJV) "He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. "
23 (ROH) On zomrie preto, že niet u neho kázne, a bude blúdiť v množstve svojho bláznovstva.
