Prís 29, 1-27

1 (UKJV) He, that being often reproved hardens his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy.
1 (KAT) Človek, ktorý je (popri všetkom) dohováraní hlavatý, bude znezrady zničený a záchrany (preň) nebude.

2 (UKJV) When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
2 (KAT) Keď vládnu spravodliví, ľud sa raduje, no keď sa násilníci zmocnia vlády, národ lká.

3 (UKJV) Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
3 (KAT) Kto má rád múdrosť, naplňuje svojho otca radosťou, ten však, čo vydržiava pobehlice, prehajdáka majetok.

4 (UKJV) The king by judgment establishes the land: but he that receives gifts overthrows it.
4 (KAT) Kráľ spravodlivým (počínaním) upevňuje krajinu, lež borí ju, kto dane vydiera.

5 (UKJV) A man that flatters his neighbour spreads a net for his feet.
5 (KAT) Človek, čo pochlebuje svojmu blížnemu, pred jeho krokmi rozprestiera sieť.

6 (UKJV) In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare: but the righteous does sing and rejoice.
6 (KAT) V priestupku zlého človeka (skrýva sa) osídlo, spravodlivý však plesá a je veselý.

7 (UKJV) The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
7 (KAT) Spravodlivý sa zaujíma o právo bedárov, bezbožník nemá (pre to) porozumenia.

8 (UKJV) Scornful men bring a city into a snare: but wise men turn away wrath.
8 (KAT) Rozdúchavajú mesto lapaji, múdri však odvracajú srditosť.

9 (UKJV) If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest.
9 (KAT) (Ak) sa múdry muž súdi s mužom bláznivým, už či sa (ten) jeduje a či sa smeje, nedá mu pokoja.

10 (UKJV) The bloodthirsty hate the upright: but the just seek his soul.
10 (KAT) Krvilační nenávidia bezúhonného, no zastávajú jeho život statoční.

11 (UKJV) A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.
11 (KAT) Pochábeľ vybuchuje celou svojou prudkosťou, múdry ho však opätovne chlácholí.

12 (UKJV) If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.
12 (KAT) U panovníka, ktorý počúva rád nepravdu, čo služobník, to bezbožník.

13 (UKJV) The poor and the deceitful man meet together: the LORD lightens both their eyes.
13 (KAT) Utláčaný i utláčateľ patria dovedna, Pán osvecuje zraky obidvom.

14 (UKJV) The king that faithfully judges the poor, his throne shall be established for ever.
14 (KAT) Trón kráľa, ktorý spravodlivo súdi bedárov, bude stáť pevne naveky.

15 (UKJV) The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself brings his mother to shame.
15 (KAT) Korbáč a karhanie dopomáha k múdrosti, no samopašné dieťa robí hanbu svojej materi.

16 (UKJV) When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases: but the righteous shall see their fall.
16 (KAT) Keď pribúda bezbožných, rozmáha sa aj hriech, spravodliví však uvidia ich pád.

17 (UKJV) "Correct your son, and he shall give you rest; yea, he shall give delight unto your soul. "
17 (KAT) Karhaj svojho syna a dožičí ti pokojného (života) a bude skytať tvojej duši slasť.

18 (UKJV) Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keeps the law, happy is he.
18 (KAT) Bez zjavenia (sa šíri) v ľude bezuzdnosť, no sláva tomu (ľudu), ktorý sa pridržiava zákona.

19 (UKJV) A servant will not be corrected by words: for though he understand he will not answer.
19 (KAT) Nevoľníka nemožno vyučovať (iba) slovami, lebo nepodrobuje sa, hoci rozumie.

20 (UKJV) See you a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him.
20 (KAT) (Ak) vidíš muža, ktorý sa prenáhľuje vo svojom konaní, (nuž vedz, že) pochábeľ (má viac) nádeje než on.

21 (UKJV) He that delicately brings up his servant from a child shall have him become his son at the length.
21 (KAT) Kto vychováva svojho sluhu zmladi maznavo, (pozná, že) skončí s pánovitosťou.

22 (UKJV) An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.
22 (KAT) Hnevlivý človek nieti roztržku a prchký chlap (sa podopúšťa) veľa priestupkov.

23 (UKJV) A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
23 (KAT) Vlastná pýcha ponižuje človeka, ponížený duchom však dosahuje slávu.

24 (UKJV) Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and betrayed it not.
24 (KAT) Ten, kto sa spriaha so zlodejom, nenávidí seba samého, počuje kliatbu, ale neoznámi.

25 (UKJV) The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
25 (KAT) Strach z ľudí kladie nástrahu, ten však, kto dôveruje v Pána, bude bezpečný.

26 (UKJV) "Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD. "
26 (KAT) Mnohí sa usilujú získať blahovôľu panovníka, lenže od Pána (je) rozhodnutie pre každého (človeka).

27 (UKJV) An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.
27 (KAT) Pre spravodlivých (je) bezbožník ohavou a pre bezbožného (je) ohavou (ten, kto kráča) cestou statočnou.

Verš 2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bears rule, the people mourn.
Prís 11:10 - When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
Prís 28:12 - When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
Prís 28:28 - When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Whoso loves wisdom rejoices his father: but he that keeps company with harlots spends his substance.
Prís 10:1 - The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
Prís 15:20 - A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish man despises his mother.
Prís 28:7 - Whoso keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.
Lk 15:13 - And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.

Verš 7
The righteous considers the cause of the poor: but the wicked regards not to know it.
Jób 29:16 - I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out.

A fool utters all his mind: but a wise man keeps it in till afterwards.

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Jób 22:29 - "When men are cast down, then you shall say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person. "
Prís 15:33 - "The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility. "
Prís 18:12 - Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honour is humility.

Whoso is partner with a thief hates his own soul: he hears cursing, and betrayed it not.
Lv 5:1 - "And if a soul sin, and hear the voice of swearing, and is a witness, whether he has seen or known of it; if he do not utter it, then he shall bear his iniquity. "

Verš 26
"Many seek the ruler's favour; but every man's judgment comes from the LORD. "
Prís 19:6 - Many will implore the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that gives gifts.

Pris 29,13 - Boh je Stvoriteľom oboch, utláčaného i utlačovateľa; rovnako dal obom svetlo očí.

Pris 29,18 - Zdivočie ľud bez poučovania v náboženských pravdách.

Pris 29,24 - Nad zlodejmi sa vyslovovala kliatba (porov. Sdc 17,2). Táto kliatba rozprestierala sa taktiež na tých, ktorým bolo zbojstvo známe, aby ich tým väčšmi pohýnala vyzradiť a udať zbojníkov (porov. Lv 5,1).
