1 (HEM) נסו ואין רדף רשע וצדיקים ככפיר יבטח׃
1 (UKJV) The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

2 (HEM) בפשע ארץ רבים שריה ובאדם מבין ידע כן יאריך׃
2 (UKJV) For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

3 (HEM) גבר רש ועשק דלים מטר סחף ואין לחם׃
3 (UKJV) A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which left no food.

4 (HEM) עזבי תורה יהללו רשע ושמרי תורה יתגרו בם׃
4 (UKJV) They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

5 (HEM) אנשי רע לא יבינו משפט ומבקשי יהוה יבינו כל׃
5 (UKJV) Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

6 (HEM) טוב רש הולך בתמו מעקש דרכים והוא עשיר׃
6 (UKJV) Better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

7 (HEM) נוצר תורה בן מבין ורעה זוללים יכלים אביו׃
7 (UKJV) Whoso keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.

8 (HEM) מרבה הונו בנשך ובתרבית לחונן דלים יקבצנו׃
8 (UKJV) He that by interest and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

9 (HEM) מסיר אזנו משמע תורה גם תפלתו תועבה׃
9 (UKJV) He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

10 (HEM) משגה ישרים בדרך רע בשחותו הוא יפול ותמימים ינחלו טוב׃
10 (UKJV) Whoso causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

11 (HEM) חכם בעיניו איש עשיר ודל מבין יחקרנו׃
11 (UKJV) "The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that has understanding searches him out. "

12 (HEM) בעלץ צדיקים רבה תפארת ובקום רשעים יחפש אדם׃
12 (UKJV) When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

13 (HEM) מכסה פשעיו לא יצליח ומודה ועזב ירחם׃
13 (UKJV) He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

14 (HEM) אשרי אדם מפחד תמיד ומקשה לבו יפול ברעה׃
14 (UKJV) Happy is the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.

15 (HEM) ארי נהם ודב שוקק משל רשע על עם דל׃
15 (UKJV) "As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people. "

16 (HEM) נגיד חסר תבונות ורב מעשקות שנאי בצע יאריך ימים׃
16 (UKJV) The prince that wants understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.

17 (HEM) אדם עשק בדם נפש עד בור ינוס אל יתמכו בו׃
17 (UKJV) "A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him. "

18 (HEM) הולך תמים יושע ונעקש דרכים יפול באחת׃
18 (UKJV) Whoso walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

19 (HEM) עבד אדמתו ישבע לחם ומרדף רקים ישבע ריש׃
19 (UKJV) He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

20 (HEM) איש אמונות רב ברכות ואץ להעשיר לא ינקה׃
20 (UKJV) A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

21 (HEM) הכר פנים לא טוב ועל פת לחם יפשע גבר׃
21 (UKJV) To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

22 (HEM) נבהל להון איש רע עין ולא ידע כי חסר יבאנו׃
22 (UKJV) He that hastes to be rich has an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come upon him.

23 (HEM) מוכיח אדם אחרי חן ימצא ממחליק לשון׃
23 (UKJV) He that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.

24 (HEM) גוזל אביו ואמו ואמר אין פשע חבר הוא לאיש משחית׃
24 (UKJV) "Whoso robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer. "

25 (HEM) רחב נפש יגרה מדון ובוטח על יהוה ידשן׃
25 (UKJV) He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

26 (HEM) בוטח בלבו הוא כסיל והולך בחכמה הוא ימלט׃
26 (UKJV) He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walks wisely, he shall be delivered.

27 (HEM) נותן לרש אין מחסור ומעלים עיניו רב מארות׃
27 (UKJV) He that gives unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.

28 (HEM) בקום רשעים יסתר אדם ובאבדם ירבו צדיקים׃
28 (UKJV) When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
