1 (KJV) The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.
1 (ROH) Srdce kráľovo v ruke Hospodinovej ako potôčky vody: kamkoľvek chce, ta ho nakloní.
2 (KJV) Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
2 (ROH) Každá cesta človeka je priama v jeho očiach; ale ten, kto zpytuje srdcia, je Hospodin.
3 (KJV) To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
3 (ROH) Činiť spravedlivosť a súd má radšej Hospodin ako obeť.
4 (KJV) An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
4 (ROH) Vysokosť očí a nadutá širokosť srdca jako i gazdovanie bezbožných je hriech.
5 (KJV) The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
5 (ROH) Myšlienky usilovného vedú iba k zisku; ale každý, kto spiecha, robí to iba na nedostatok.
6 (KJV) The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
6 (ROH) Poklady, nahromadené lživým jazykom, sú pominuteľnou márnosťou tých, ktorí hľadajú smrť.
7 (KJV) The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
7 (ROH) Zkaza bezbožných odvlečie aj ich samých, lebo sa vzpečujú činiť súd.
8 (KJV) The way of man is froward and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
8 (ROH) Cesta zločinného muža je prevrátená; ale čo do čistého, toho skutok je spravedlivý.
9 (KJV) It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
9 (ROH) Lepšie je bývať v kúte na streche ako so svárlivou ženou v spoločnom dome.
10 (KJV) The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
10 (ROH) Duša bezbožného žiada zlé; jeho blížny nemá zľutovania v jeho očiach.
11 (KJV) When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
11 (ROH) Keď trescú posmievača, hlúpy múdreje, a keď poučujú múdreho, priberá známosti.
12 (KJV) The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
12 (ROH) Spravedlivý sa učí na dome bezbožníka, keď Bôh podvracia bezbožných vrhajúc ich do zlého.
13 (KJV) Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
13 (ROH) Ten, kto zapcháva svoje ucho, aby nepočul kriku chudobného, bude tiež raz volať, ale nebude vyslyšaný.
14 (KJV) A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
14 (ROH) Dar v skrytosti krotí hnev a úplatný dar v lone krutú prchlivosť.
15 (KJV) It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
15 (ROH) Spravedlivému je radosťou činiť súd, ale zkazou tým, ktorí páchajú neprávosť.
16 (KJV) The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
16 (ROH) Človek, ktorý blúdi z cesty rozumnosti, bude odpočívať v shromaždení mŕtvych.
17 (KJV) He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
17 (ROH) Ten, kto miluje veselosť, býva bedárom: ten, kto miluje víno a olej, nezbohatne.
18 (KJV) The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
18 (ROH) Výkupným za spravedlivého bude bezbožný, a namiesto úprimných bude ten, kto robí neverne.
19 (KJV) It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
19 (ROH) Lepšie je bývať v pustej zemi ako so svárlivou ženou a mrzutou.
20 (KJV) There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
20 (ROH) Vzácny poklad a olej je v príbytku múdreho; ale človek blázon ho pohlcuje.
21 (KJV) He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
21 (ROH) Ten, kto sa ženie za spravedlivosťou a za milosrdenstvom, najde život, spravedlivosť a slávu.
22 (KJV) A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.
22 (ROH) Múdry vyšiel hore do mesta hrdinov a zboril pevnosť, na ktorú sa nadejali.
23 (KJV) Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
23 (ROH) Ten, kto ostríha svoje ústa a svoj jazyk, ostríha svoju dušu od úzkostí.
24 (KJV) Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
24 (ROH) Pyšný človek nadutý, ktorého meno je posmievač, robí všetko v drzej pýche.
25 (KJV) The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
25 (ROH) Žiadosť leňocha zabije jeho samého, lebo jeho ruky sa vzpečujú robiť;
26 (KJV) He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
26 (ROH) každého dňa si dychtivo žiada; ale spravedlivý dáva a neskrblí.
27 (KJV) The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
27 (ROH) Obeť bezbožných je ohavnosťou, čím viacej, keď ju donesie v nešľachetnosti!
28 (KJV) A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
28 (ROH) Lživý svedok zahynie, ale človek, ktorý čuje, bude hovoriť vždycky.
29 (KJV) A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
29 (ROH) Bezbožný človek je tvrdý vo svojej tvári; ale úprimný uváži a upraví svoju cestu.
30 (KJV) There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
30 (ROH) Neni múdrosti ani umnosti ani rady proti Hospodinovi.
31 (KJV) The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
31 (ROH) Kôň je pripravený ku dňu boja; ale záchrana je Hospodinova.

Verš 2
Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD pondereth the hearts.
Prís 16:2 - All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
Verš 3
To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
1Sam 15:22 - And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
Ž 50:8 - I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.
Ž 50:14 - Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:
Iz 1:11 - To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats.
Iz 1:16 - Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Oz 6:6 - For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
Prís 10:4 - He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Prís 13:4 - The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro of them that seek death.
Prís 10:2 - Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death.
Prís 10:4 - He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.
Prís 13:11 - Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
Prís 21:19 - It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
Prís 25:24 - It is better to dwell in the corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman and in a wide house.
Prís 27:15 - A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.

When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
Prís 19:25 - Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Verš 14
A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
Prís 17:8 - A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth.
Prís 18:16 - A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Prís 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Ž 37:26 - He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.
Verš 27
The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
Prís 15:8 - The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the LORD: but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
Iz 1:13 - Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting.
Jer 6:20 - To what purpose cometh there to me incense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices sweet unto me.
Am 5:21 - I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies.

A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
Prís 19:5 - A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.
Prís 19:9 - A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.
Verš 31
The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.
Ž 33:17 - An horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength.
