1 (HEM) בני אם תקח אמרי ומצותי תצפן אתך׃
1 (UKJV) "My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you; "

2 (HEM) להקשיב לחכמה אזנך תטה לבך לתבונה׃
2 (UKJV) "So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; "

3 (HEM) כי אם לבינה תקרא לתבונה תתן קולך׃
3 (UKJV) "Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; "

4 (HEM) אם תבקשנה ככסף וכמטמונים תחפשנה׃
4 (UKJV) "If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; "

5 (HEM) אז תבין יראת יהוה ודעת אלהים תמצא׃
5 (UKJV) Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

6 (HEM) כי יהוה יתן חכמה מפיו דעת ותבונה׃
6 (UKJV) For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.

7 (HEM) וצפן לישרים תושיה מגן להלכי תם׃
7 (UKJV) He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

8 (HEM) לנצר ארחות משפט ודרך חסידו ישמר׃
8 (UKJV) He keeps the paths of judgment, and perserves the way of his saints.

9 (HEM) אז תבין צדק ומשפט ומישרים כל מעגל טוב׃
9 (UKJV) "Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. "

10 (HEM) כי תבוא חכמה בלבך ודעת לנפשך ינעם׃
10 (UKJV) "When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; "

11 (HEM) מזמה תשמר עליך תבונה תנצרכה׃
11 (UKJV) Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you:

12 (HEM) להצילך מדרך רע מאיש מדבר תהפכות׃
12 (UKJV) "To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; "

13 (HEM) העזבים ארחות ישר ללכת בדרכי חשך׃
13 (UKJV) "Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; "

14 (HEM) השמחים לעשות רע יגילו בתהפכות רע׃
14 (UKJV) "Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of the wicked; "

15 (HEM) אשר ארחתיהם עקשים ונלוזים במעגלותם׃
15 (UKJV) Whose ways are crooked, and they perverse in their paths:

16 (HEM) להצילך מאשה זרה מנכריה אמריה החליקה׃
16 (UKJV) "To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words; "

17 (HEM) העזבת אלוף נעוריה ואת ברית אלהיה שכחה׃
17 (UKJV) Which forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God.

18 (HEM) כי שחה אל מות ביתה ואל רפאים מעגלתיה׃
18 (UKJV) For her house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead.

19 (HEM) כל באיה לא ישובון ולא ישיגו ארחות חיים׃
19 (UKJV) None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.

20 (HEM) למען תלך בדרך טובים וארחות צדיקים תשמר׃
20 (UKJV) That you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.

21 (HEM) כי ישרים ישכנו ארץ ותמימים יותרו בה׃
21 (UKJV) For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.

22 (HEM) ורשעים מארץ יכרתו ובוגדים יסחו ממנה׃
22 (UKJV) But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
