1 (UKJV) "My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments with you; "
1 (KAT) Syn môj, ak prijmeš moje výroky a moje prikázania schováš u seba,

2 (UKJV) "So that you incline your ear unto wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; "
2 (KAT) ak budeš napínať ucho za múdrosťou a nakloníš si srdce k umnosti,

3 (UKJV) "Yea, if you cry after knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding; "
3 (KAT) keď budeš vzývať rozumnosť, dovolávať sa svojím hlasom umnosti,

4 (UKJV) "If you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures; "
4 (KAT) ak ju budeš hľadať ako strieborniak a sliediť za ňou ako za skrytými pokladmi,

5 (UKJV) Then shall you understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
5 (KAT) vtedy porozumieš bázni pred Pánom a získaš Božie poznanie.

6 (UKJV) For the LORD gives wisdom: out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
6 (KAT) Bo múdrosť udeľuje Pán, z jeho úst (pochádzajú) poznanie a rozumnosť.

7 (UKJV) He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
7 (KAT) Ukladá pomoc pre statočných, bude štítom tým, čo žijú neporušene,

8 (UKJV) He keeps the paths of judgment, and perserves the way of his saints.
8 (KAT) lebo chráni cesty spravodlivosti a stráži dráhu svojich ctiteľov.

9 (UKJV) "Then shall you understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path. "
9 (KAT) (Až) vtedy porozumieš, (čo je) spravodlivosť a (čo) právo (je), (čo je to) statočnosť (a) každý dobrý chodník,

10 (UKJV) "When wisdom enters into your heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto your soul; "
10 (KAT) bo sa ti múdrosť nasťahuje do srdca a tvoju dušu blažiť bude poznanie,

11 (UKJV) Discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep you:
11 (KAT) rozvaha bude bedliť nad tebou (a) rozumnosť ťa bude strážiť

12 (UKJV) "To deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaks perverse things; "
12 (KAT) tak, že ťa od zlej cesty zachová, od človeka, čo vraví mam a klam,

13 (UKJV) "Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; "
13 (KAT) od (tých), čo zanechali priame chodníky a vykračujú temravými cestami,

14 (UKJV) "Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perverseness of the wicked; "
14 (KAT) ktorí sa tešia, keď sa môžu podopúšťať zla, rozplývajú sa radosťou z (tých) najmrzkejších výčinov,

15 (UKJV) Whose ways are crooked, and they perverse in their paths:
15 (KAT) (od ľudí), ktorých cesty sú kľukaté a sú podlí (všade), kde len nohou vykročia.

16 (UKJV) "To deliver you from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flatters with her words; "
16 (KAT) Zachová ťa (tiež) od manželky blížneho, od cudzinky, čo zalieča sa líškavými rečami,

17 (UKJV) Which forsakes the guide of her youth, and forgets the covenant of her God.
17 (KAT) čo zanecháva druha svojej mladosti a zabúda na zmluvu svojho Boha.

18 (UKJV) For her house inclines unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
18 (KAT) Jej dom sa vskutku zvažuje do smrti, jej cesty (vedú) k nebohým.

19 (UKJV) None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
19 (KAT) Nevráti sa nik z tých, ktorí zalietajú k nej, (nik z nich) viac nevkročí na chodník života.

20 (UKJV) That you may walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
20 (KAT) Preto sa cestou dobrých uberaj a zachovávaj spravodlivých chodníky!

21 (UKJV) For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
21 (KAT) Lebo (len ľudia) správni budú bývať v krajine a zostanú v nej (iba) počestní.

22 (UKJV) But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
22 (KAT) Nečestní sa odstránia z krajiny a zločinci sa vykorenia z nej.
