1 (KJV) My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;
1 (ROH) Môj synu, ak prijmeš moje slová a schováš moje prikázania u seba,

2 (KJV) So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, and apply thine heart to understanding;
2 (ROH) tak, aby tvoje ucho pozorovalo na múdrosť, a jestli nakloníš svoje srdce umnosti;

3 (KJV) Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;
3 (ROH) áno, ak zavoláš na rozumnosť a pozdvihneš svoj hlas k umnosti;

4 (KJV) If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;
4 (ROH) ak ju budeš hľadať ako striebro a budeš ju vyhľadávať ako skryté poklady,

5 (KJV) Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
5 (ROH) vtedy porozumieš bázni Hospodinovej a najdeš známosť Božiu.

6 (KJV) For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
6 (ROH) Lebo Hospodin dáva múdrosť; z jeho úst pochádza známosť a umnosť.

7 (KJV) He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.
7 (ROH) Prechováva úprimným prospech; je štítom tým, ktorí chodia v bezúhonnosti,

8 (KJV) He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.
8 (ROH) strežúc stezky súdu a ostríha cestu svojich svätých.

9 (KJV) Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.
9 (ROH) Vtedy porozumieš spravedlivosti a súdu a úprimnosti, každej koľaji dobrého.

10 (KJV) When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;
10 (ROH) Lebo múdrosť vojde do tvojho srdca, a známosť bude milou tvojej duši.

11 (KJV) Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
11 (ROH) Prozreteľnosť bude strážiť nad tebou; umnosť bude mať na teba obrátený pozor

12 (KJV) To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things;
12 (ROH) vytrhujúc ťa od zlej cesty, od človeka, ktorý hovorí prevrátené veci,

13 (KJV) Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
13 (ROH) od tých, ktorí opúšťajú priame stezky, aby chodili po cestách tmy,

14 (KJV) Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
14 (ROH) ktorí sa radujú, keď môžu urobiť zlé; plesajú v najhorších prevrátenostiach;

15 (KJV) Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
15 (ROH) ktorých stezky sú krivolaké, a sami sú prevrátení na svojich cestách;

16 (KJV) To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words;
16 (ROH) vytrhujúc ťa od cudzej ženy, od cudzozemky, ktorá lichotí svojimi hladkými rečami,

17 (KJV) Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
17 (ROH) ktorá opúšťa druha svojej mladosti a zabúda na smluvu svojho Boha

18 (KJV) For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead.
18 (ROH) (Lebo zapáda do smrti i so svojím domom, a jej cesty vedú k mŕtvym;

19 (KJV) None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
19 (ROH) niktorí z tých, ktorí vojdú k nej, sa nenavrátia a nedostihnú steziek života),

20 (KJV) That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
20 (ROH) aby si chodil cestou dobrých a aby si ostríhal stezky spravedlivých.

21 (KJV) For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it.
21 (ROH) Lebo úprimní budú bývať v zemi, a bezúhonní zbudnú v nej.

22 (KJV) But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.
22 (ROH) Ale bezbožníci budú vyťatí zo zeme, a vierolomných z nej vytrhnú.
