Prís 16, 1-33

1 (UKJV) The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
1 (KAT) Človeku patrí uvažovať v srdci, no výpoveď (dáva) Pán na jazyk.

2 (UKJV) "All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weights the spirits. "
2 (KAT) Človeku sa môže zdať, že sú jeho cesty čisté napospol, ale Pán je ten, čo posudzuje pohnútky.

3 (UKJV) Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.
3 (KAT) Zver svoje diela na Pána a podaria sa tvoje zámery.

4 (UKJV) The LORD has made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
4 (KAT) Pán všetko stvoril pre svoj cieľ, aj bezbožného na deň pohromy.

5 (UKJV) Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
5 (KAT) Pánovi je odporný každý nadutec, stavím sa (s kýmkoľvek), že trestu neujde.

6 (UKJV) By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
6 (KAT) Previnenie sa vykupuje opravdivým milosrdenstvom a zlému sa vyhýba bázňou pred Pánom.

7 (UKJV) When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.
7 (KAT) Ak sa Pánovi ľúbia cesty (nejakého) človeka, pomerí aj jeho nepriateľov s ním.

8 (UKJV) Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
8 (KAT) Lepšie (mať) málo spravodlivým (spôsobom), ako veľké dôchodky a nespravodlivo.

9 (UKJV) A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps.
9 (KAT) Človek si v duchu rozvažuje svoju púť, ale Pán riadi jeho krok.

10 (UKJV) A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth trangresses not in judgment.
10 (KAT) Na kráľových perách je Božia výpoveď, (preto) sa jeho ústa neprehrešia v rozsudzovaní.

11 (UKJV) A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
11 (KAT) Váha a misky prináležia Pánovi, jeho dielom sú všetky kamienky (vo) vrecku.

12 (UKJV) It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
12 (KAT) Je ohavnosťou, aby králi konali bezbožne, lebo (len) spravodlivosťou sa upevňuje trón.

13 (UKJV) "Righteous lips are the delight of kings; and they love him that speaks right. "
13 (KAT) Kráľovou záľubou sú pery pravdivé a rád má toho, kto sa vyjadruje úprimne.

14 (UKJV) The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
14 (KAT) Kráľov hnev - poslovia smrti, a uchláchoľuje ho múdry muž.

15 (UKJV) "In the light of the king's countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain. "
15 (KAT) Na jasnej tvári kráľovej (sa) život (zrkadlí) a jeho láskavosť je sťa mrak pŕšky za vesny.

16 (UKJV) How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!
16 (KAT) Nadobúdanie múdrosti je oveľa lepšie nad zlato a získavanie rozumnosti vypláca sa nad striebro.

17 (UKJV) The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keeps his way perserves his soul.
17 (KAT) Vyhýbať zlu je hradskou cestou počestných, chráni si život, kto stráži svoju púť.

18 (UKJV) Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
18 (KAT) Pýcha (je) pred skazou a pred pádom je namyslený duch.

19 (UKJV) Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
19 (KAT) Lepšie ponižovať sa s poníženými, než s pyšnými sa deliť o korisť.

20 (UKJV) He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
20 (KAT) Nachádza šťastie, kto sa dáva (dobrým) slovom poučiť, a blažený je ten, kto sa spolieha na Pána.

21 (UKJV) The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increases learning.
21 (KAT) Ten, kto má múdre srdce, bude vyhlásený za rozumného; a prívetivá reč zvyšuje ešte vnímavosť.

22 (UKJV) Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
22 (KAT) Rozum je prameňom života pre (človeka), ktorý ho má, pre bláznov je však trestom bláznovstvo.

23 (UKJV) The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.
23 (KAT) Múdremu myseľ (vkladá) do úst rozvahu a na perách mu rozmnožuje účinnosť.

24 (UKJV) Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
24 (KAT) Plást medom pretekajúci sú slová láskavé, sladkosť (z nich prúdi do) duše a osvieženie (do) kostí.

25 (UKJV) There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
25 (KAT) Nejedna cesta vidí sa byť správna človeku, napokon však vedie do smrti.

26 (UKJV) "He that labours labours for himself; for his mouth craves it of him. "
26 (KAT) Hlad pracujúceho zaň pracuje, lebo ho naháňajú jeho ústa (do práce).

27 (UKJV) An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
27 (KAT) Ničomný človek strojí zlé a na perách má plameň blčiaci.

28 (UKJV) A perverse man sows strife: and a whisperer separates chief friends.
28 (KAT) Prevrátený človek seje rozbroje a pletkár rozlučuje priateľov.

29 (UKJV) A violent man entices his neighbour, and leads him into the way that is not good.
29 (KAT) Ukrutník (sa usiluje) zviesť svojho blížneho a viesť ho cestou nedobrou.

30 (UKJV) He shuts his eyes to devise perverse things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.
30 (KAT) (Keď niekto) prižmuruje oči, snuje zlo, (keď si niekto) hryzie pery, (už) zlo dokonal.

31 (UKJV) The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
31 (KAT) Šediny sú ozdobnou korunou, (no táto koruna) sa nadobúda čestnou púťou (života).

32 (UKJV) "He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that rules his spirit than he that takes a city. "
32 (KAT) Lepšie je byť trpezlivý ako silák, (lepšie) sa ovládať, než mesto zaujať.

33 (UKJV) "The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD. "
33 (KAT) Lós sa hádže do záhybu, ale každé jeho rozhodnutie (býva) od Pána.

Verš 1
The preparations of the heart in man, and the answer of the tongue, is from the LORD.
Prís 16:9 - A man's heart devises his way: but the LORD directs his steps.
Prís 19:21 - "There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD, that shall stand. "
Prís 20:24 - "Man's activities are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way? "
Jer 10:23 - O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walks to direct his steps.

"All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weights the spirits. "

Commit your works unto the LORD, and your thoughts shall be established.

Verš 4
The LORD has made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
Jób 21:30 - That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
Prís 6:17 - A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
Prís 8:13 - The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate.
Prís 11:21 - Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.
Ž 37:16 - A little that a righteous man has is better than the riches of many wicked.
Prís 15:16 - Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

Verš 11
A just weight and balance are the LORD's: all the weights of the bag are his work.
Lv 19:36 - Just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin, shall all of you have: I am the LORD your God, which brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Dt 25:13 - You shall not have in your bag divers weights, a great and a small.
Prís 11:1 - A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.
Prís 20:10 - Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
Prís 20:23 - "Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good. "

The wrath of a king is as messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
Prís 19:12 - "The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass. "
Prís 20:2 - The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provokes him to anger sins against his own soul.

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Verš 18
Pride goes before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Prís 11:2 - When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.
Prís 17:19 - He loves transgression that loves strife: and he that exalts his gate seeks destruction.

Verš 20
He that handles a matter wisely shall find good: and whoso trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
Ž 2:12 - Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and all of you perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Ž 34:8 - O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him.
Ž 125:1 - They that trust in the LORD shall be as mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides for ever.
Iz 30:18 - And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
Jer 17:7 - Blessed is the man that trusts in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that has it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.
Prís 12:18 - There is that speaks like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

Verš 28
A perverse man sows strife: and a whisperer separates chief friends.
Prís 15:18 - A wrathful man stirs up strife: but he that is slow to anger appeases strife.
Prís 26:21 - "As coals are to burning coals, and wood to fire; so is a contentious man to kindle strife. "
Prís 29:22 - An angry man stirs up strife, and a furious man abounds in transgression.

Verš 30
He shuts his eyes to devise perverse things: moving his lips he brings evil to pass.
Prís 6:13 - "He winks with his eyes, he speaks with his feet, he teaches with his fingers; "

Pris 16,1 - Človek mieni, Pán Boh mení. Porov. 16,9.

Pris 16,2 - Porov. Ž 7,10.

Pris 16,10 - Kráľ, keď súdi, zastupuje Boha, najvyššieho Sudcu (porov. 1 Kr 3,28).

Pris 16,11 - Obchod je tiež pod zákonom Božím. – V dávnoveku sa vážilo kamenčekmi, ktoré nosievali predavači – kupci v mešci za pásom.

Pris 16,14 - Porov. 1 Kr 2,22–46.

Pris 16,15 - Neskorý dážď v Palestíne v marci – apríli je veľmi dôležitý, lebo zaisťuje radostnú a hojnú žatvu. Bez neho by bola neúroda a hlad. Práve taká výdatná a nevyhnutná je aj milosť kráľova.

Pris 16,29 - Bezbožný by rád našiel spoločníka pre svoj hriešny zámer (porov. 1,10–19).

Pris 16,33 - Na prsiach bol náber na rúchu, čo slúžil ako vrecko na trasenie žrebu (lósu). Rozhodnutie žrebom bolo pokladané za súd Boží (porov. 18,18).
