Prís 14, 1-35

1 (CPDV) A wise woman builds up her household. But a foolish one will pull down with her own hands what has been built up.
1 (HEM) חכמות נשים בנתה ביתה ואולת בידיה תהרסנו׃

2 (CPDV) One who walks on a virtuous journey, and who fears God, is despised by him who advances along a disreputable way.
2 (HEM) הולך בישרו ירא יהוה ונלוז דרכיו בוזהו׃

3 (CPDV) In the mouth of the foolish, there is a rod of arrogance. But the lips of the wise guard them.
3 (HEM) בפי אויל חטר גאוה ושפתי חכמים תשמורם׃

4 (CPDV) Where there are no oxen, the feeding trough is empty. But where there are many crops, there the strength of the ox is manifest.
4 (HEM) באין אלפים אבוס בר ורב תבואות בכח שור׃

5 (CPDV) A faithful witness will not lie. But a deceitful witness offers a lie.
5 (HEM) עד אמונים לא יכזב ויפיח כזבים עד שקר׃

6 (CPDV) A mocker seeks wisdom and does not find it. The doctrine of the prudent is accessible.
6 (HEM) בקש לץ חכמה ואין ודעת לנבון נקל׃

7 (CPDV) Go against a foolish man, and he does not acknowledge lips of prudence.
7 (HEM) לך מנגד לאיש כסיל ובל ידעת שפתי דעת׃

8 (CPDV) The wisdom of a discerning man is to understand his way. And the imprudence of the foolish is to be wandering astray.
8 (HEM) חכמת ערום הבין דרכו ואולת כסילים מרמה׃

9 (CPDV) The foolish will speak mockingly of sin. But grace lingers among the just.
9 (HEM) אולים יליץ אשם ובין ישרים רצון׃

10 (CPDV) The heart that knows the bitterness of its own soul, in its gladness the outsider shall not meddle.
10 (HEM) לב יודע מרת נפשו ובשמחתו לא יתערב זר׃

11 (CPDV) The house of the impious will be wiped away. Yet truly, the tabernacles of the just shall spring forth.
11 (HEM) בית רשעים ישמד ואהל ישרים יפריח׃

12 (CPDV) There is a way which seems just to a man, but its conclusion leads to death.
12 (HEM) יש דרך ישר לפני איש ואחריתה דרכי מות׃

13 (CPDV) Laughter shall be mingled with sorrow, and mourning occupies the limits of joy.
13 (HEM) גם בשחוק יכאב לב ואחריתה שמחה תוגה׃

14 (CPDV) The foolish will be filled up by his own ways. And the good man shall be above him.
14 (HEM) מדרכיו ישבע סוג לב ומעליו איש טוב׃

15 (CPDV) The innocent trust every word. The astute one considers his own steps. Nothing good will be for the deceitful son. But the wise servant shall act prosperously and his way will be set in order.
15 (HEM) פתי יאמין לכל דבר וערום יבין לאשרו׃

16 (CPDV) The wise fear, and so turn away from evil. The foolish leap ahead with confidence.
16 (HEM) חכם ירא וסר מרע וכסיל מתעבר ובוטח׃

17 (CPDV) The impatient will work foolishness. And a resourceful man is hated.
17 (HEM) קצר אפים יעשה אולת ואיש מזמות ישנא׃

18 (CPDV) The childish will possess foolishness, and the discerning will anticipate knowledge.
18 (HEM) נחלו פתאים אולת וערומים יכתרו דעת׃

19 (CPDV) The evil will fall down before the good. And the impious will fall down before the gates of the just.
19 (HEM) שחו רעים לפני טובים ורשעים על שערי צדיק׃

20 (CPDV) The pauper will be hated, even by his own neighbor. Yet truly, the friends of the wealthy are many.
20 (HEM) גם לרעהו ישנא רש ואהבי עשיר רבים׃

21 (CPDV) Whoever despises his neighbor, sins. But whoever pities the poor shall be blessed. Whoever trusts in the Lord loves mercy.
21 (HEM) בז לרעהו חוטא ומחונן עניים אשריו׃

22 (CPDV) They wander astray who work evil. But mercy and truth prepare good things.
22 (HEM) הלוא יתעו חרשי רע וחסד ואמת חרשי טוב׃

23 (CPDV) In every work, there shall be abundance. But where there are many words, there is often need.
23 (HEM) בכל עצב יהיה מותר ודבר שפתים אך למחסור׃

24 (CPDV) The crown of the wise is their wealth. The senselessness of the foolish is imprudence.
24 (HEM) עטרת חכמים עשרם אולת כסילים אולת׃

25 (CPDV) A faithful witness frees souls. And the chameleon utters lies.
25 (HEM) מציל נפשות עד אמת ויפח כזבים מרמה׃

26 (CPDV) In the fear of the Lord is the faithfulness of strength, and there shall be hope for his sons.
26 (HEM) ביראת יהוה מבטח עז ולבניו יהיה מחסה׃

27 (CPDV) The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so as to turn aside from the ruin of death.
27 (HEM) יראת יהוה מקור חיים לסור ממקשי מות׃

28 (CPDV) In a multitude of people, there is dignity for the king. And in a paucity of people, there is disgrace for the prince.
28 (HEM) ברב עם הדרת מלך ובאפס לאם מחתת רזון׃

29 (CPDV) Whoever is patient is governed by much prudence. But whoever is impatient exalts his foolishness.
29 (HEM) ארך אפים רב תבונה וקצר רוח מרים אולת׃

30 (CPDV) The well-being of the heart is life for the flesh. But envy is decay for the bones.
30 (HEM) חיי בשרים לב מרפא ורקב עצמות קנאה׃

31 (CPDV) Whoever slanders the indigent argues against his Maker. But he who has compassion on the poor honors his Maker.
31 (HEM) עשק דל חרף עשהו ומכבדו חנן אביון׃

32 (CPDV) The impious will be expelled in his malice. But the just finds hope even in his own death.
32 (HEM) ברעתו ידחה רשע וחסה במותו צדיק׃

33 (CPDV) In the heart of the prudent, wisdom finds rest. And so shall he instruct all the uneducated.
33 (HEM) בלב נבון תנוח חכמה ובקרב כסילים תודע׃

34 (CPDV) Justice elevates a nation. But sin makes the peoples miserable.
34 (HEM) צדקה תרומם גוי וחסד לאמים חטאת׃

35 (CPDV) An intelligent minister is acceptable to the king. Whoever is useless shall bear his wrath.
35 (HEM) רצון מלך לעבד משכיל ועברתו תהיה מביש׃

Verš 33
In the heart of the prudent, wisdom finds rest. And so shall he instruct all the uneducated.
Prís 10:14 - The wise store away knowledge. But the mouth of the foolish is a neighbor to confusion.
Prís 12:23 - A resourceful man conceals knowledge. And the heart of the unwise provokes foolishness.
Prís 13:16 - The discerning do everything with counsel. But whoever is senseless discloses his stupidity.

Jób 12:4 - He who is mocked by his friends as I am, will call upon God, and he will listen to him because it is the sincerity of the just that is being mocked.

Verš 5
A faithful witness will not lie. But a deceitful witness offers a lie.
Ex 23:1 - “You shall not accept a lying voice. Neither shall you join your hand so as to give false testimony on behalf on the impious.
Prís 12:17 - He is a sign of justice, who speaks what he knows. But whoever deceives is a dishonest witness.

The foolish will be filled up by his own ways. And the good man shall be above him.
Prís 1:31 - Therefore, they shall eat the fruit of their way, and they shall have their fill of their own counsels.

The pauper will be hated, even by his own neighbor. Yet truly, the friends of the wealthy are many.
Prís 19:4 - Riches adds many friends. But from the pauper, even those whom he had become separated.
Prís 19:7 - The brothers of the poor man hate him. Moreover, even his friends have withdrawn far from him. Whoever pursues only words shall have nothing.

Verš 22
They wander astray who work evil. But mercy and truth prepare good things.
Lk 6:38 - Give, and it will be given to you: a good measure, pressed down and shaken together and overflowing, they will place upon your lap. Certainly, the same measure that you use to measure out, will be used to measure back to you again.”

Verš 27
The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, so as to turn aside from the ruin of death.
Prís 10:11 - The mouth of the just is a vein of life. And the mouth of the impious covers iniquity.
Prís 13:14 - The law of the wise is a fountain of life, so that he may turn aside from the ruin of death.

Whoever slanders the indigent argues against his Maker. But he who has compassion on the poor honors his Maker.
Prís 17:5 - Whoever despises the poor rebukes his Maker. And whoever rejoices in the ruin of another will not go unpunished.
Prís 14:21 - Whoever despises his neighbor, sins. But whoever pities the poor shall be blessed. Whoever trusts in the Lord loves mercy.
