1 (HEM) אהב מוסר אהב דעת ושנא תוכחת בער׃
1 (UKJV) Whoso loves instruction loves knowledge: but he that hates reproof is brutish.

2 (HEM) טוב יפיק רצון מיהוה ואיש מזמות ירשיע׃
2 (UKJV) A good man obtains favour of the LORD: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3 (HEM) לא יכון אדם ברשע ושרש צדיקים בל ימוט׃
3 (UKJV) A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 (HEM) אשת חיל עטרת בעלה וכרקב בעצמותיו מבישה׃
4 (UKJV) A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that makes ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5 (HEM) מחשבות צדיקים משפט תחבלות רשעים מרמה׃
5 (UKJV) The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6 (HEM) דברי רשעים ארב דם ופי ישרים יצילם׃
6 (UKJV) The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

7 (HEM) הפוך רשעים ואינם ובית צדיקים יעמד׃
7 (UKJV) The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

8 (HEM) לפי שכלו יהלל איש ונעוה לב יהיה לבוז׃
8 (UKJV) A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

9 (HEM) טוב נקלה ועבד לו ממתכבד וחסר לחם׃
9 (UKJV) He that is despised, and has a servant, is better than he that honors himself, and lacks bread.

10 (HEM) יודע צדיק נפש בהמתו ורחמי רשעים אכזרי׃
10 (UKJV) A righteous man regards the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 (HEM) עבד אדמתו ישבע לחם ומרדף ריקים חסר לב׃
11 (UKJV) He that tills his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that follows vain persons is void of understanding.

12 (HEM) חמד רשע מצוד רעים ושרש צדיקים יתן׃
12 (UKJV) The wicked desires the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yields fruit.

13 (HEM) בפשע שפתים מוקש רע ויצא מצרה צדיק׃
13 (UKJV) The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14 (HEM) מפרי פי איש ישבע טוב וגמול ידי אדם ישוב לו׃
14 (UKJV) A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man's hands shall be rendered unto him.

15 (HEM) דרך אויל ישר בעיניו ושמע לעצה חכם׃
15 (UKJV) The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkens unto counsel is wise.

16 (HEM) אויל ביום יודע כעסו וכסה קלון ערום׃
16 (UKJV) A fool's wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covers shame.

17 (HEM) יפיח אמונה יגיד צדק ועד שקרים מרמה׃
17 (UKJV) He that speaks truth shows forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

18 (HEM) יש בוטה כמדקרות חרב ולשון חכמים מרפא׃
18 (UKJV) There is that speaks like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

19 (HEM) שפת אמת תכון לעד ועד ארגיעה לשון שקר׃
19 (UKJV) The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 (HEM) מרמה בלב חרשי רע וליעצי שלום שמחה׃
20 (UKJV) Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 (HEM) לא יאנה לצדיק כל און ורשעים מלאו רע׃
21 (UKJV) There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 (HEM) תועבת יהוה שפתי שקר ועשי אמונה רצונו׃
22 (UKJV) Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.

23 (HEM) אדם ערום כסה דעת ולב כסילים יקרא אולת׃
23 (UKJV) A prudent man conceals knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaims foolishness.

24 (HEM) יד חרוצים תמשול ורמיה תהיה למס׃
24 (UKJV) The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25 (HEM) דאגה בלב איש ישחנה ודבר טוב ישמחנה׃
25 (UKJV) Heaviness in the heart of man makes it stoop: but a good word makes it glad.

26 (HEM) יתר מרעהו צדיק ודרך רשעים תתעם׃
26 (UKJV) The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduces them.

27 (HEM) לא יחרך רמיה צידו והון אדם יקר חרוץ׃
27 (UKJV) The slothful man roasts not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28 (HEM) בארח צדקה חיים ודרך נתיבה אל מות׃
28 (UKJV) In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.
