1 (HEM) מאזני מרמה תועבת יהוה ואבן שלמה רצונו׃
1 (UKJV) A false balance is abomination to the LORD: but a just weight is his delight.

2 (HEM) בא זדון ויבא קלון ואת צנועים חכמה׃
2 (UKJV) When pride comes, then comes shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

3 (HEM) תמת ישרים תנחם וסלף בוגדים ושדם׃
3 (UKJV) The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

4 (HEM) לא יועיל הון ביום עברה וצדקה תציל ממות׃
4 (UKJV) Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivers from death.

5 (HEM) צדקת תמים תישר דרכו וברשעתו יפל רשע׃
5 (UKJV) The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

6 (HEM) צדקת ישרים תצילם ובהות בגדים ילכדו׃
6 (UKJV) The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7 (HEM) במות אדם רשע תאבד תקוה ותוחלת אונים אבדה׃
7 (UKJV) When a wicked man dies, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perishes.

8 (HEM) צדיק מצרה נחלץ ויבא רשע תחתיו׃
8 (UKJV) The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked comes in his position.

9 (HEM) בפה חנף ישחת רעהו ובדעת צדיקים יחלצו׃
9 (UKJV) An hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 (HEM) בטוב צדיקים תעלץ קריה ובאבד רשעים רנה׃
10 (UKJV) When it goes well with the righteous, the city rejoices: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 (HEM) בברכת ישרים תרום קרת ובפי רשעים תהרס׃
11 (UKJV) By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 (HEM) בז לרעהו חסר לב ואיש תבונות יחריש׃
12 (UKJV) He that is void of wisdom despises his neighbour: but a man of understanding holds his peace.

13 (HEM) הולך רכיל מגלה סוד ונאמן רוח מכסה דבר׃
13 (UKJV) A talebearer reveals secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit conceals the matter.

14 (HEM) באין תחבלות יפל עם ותשועה ברב יועץ׃
14 (UKJV) Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

15 (HEM) רע ירוע כי ערב זר ושנא תקעים בוטח׃
15 (UKJV) He that is guarantor for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hates standing for surety is sure.

16 (HEM) אשת חן תתמך כבוד ועריצים יתמכו עשר׃
16 (UKJV) A gracious woman retains honour: and strong men retain riches.

17 (HEM) גמל נפשו איש חסד ועכר שארו אכזרי׃
17 (UKJV) The merciful man does good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubles his own flesh.

18 (HEM) רשע עשה פעלת שקר וזרע צדקה שכר אמת׃
18 (UKJV) The wicked works a deceitful work: but to him that sows righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 (HEM) כן צדקה לחיים ומרדף רעה למותו׃
19 (UKJV) As righteousness tends to life: so he that pursues evil pursues it to his own death.

20 (HEM) תועבת יהוה עקשי לב ורצונו תמימי דרך׃
20 (UKJV) They that are of a perverse heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 (HEM) יד ליד לא ינקה רע וזרע צדיקים נמלט׃
21 (UKJV) Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22 (HEM) נזם זהב באף חזיר אשה יפה וסרת טעם׃
22 (UKJV) As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 (HEM) תאות צדיקים אך טוב תקות רשעים עברה׃
23 (UKJV) The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 (HEM) יש מפזר ונוסף עוד וחושך מישר אך למחסור׃
24 (UKJV) "There is that scatters, and yet increases; and there is that withholds more than is meet, but it tends to poverty. "

25 (HEM) נפש ברכה תדשן ומרוה גם הוא יורא׃
25 (UKJV) The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that waters shall be watered also himself.

26 (HEM) מנע בר יקבהו לאום וברכה לראש משביר׃
26 (UKJV) He that withholds corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that sells it.

27 (HEM) שחר טוב יבקש רצון ודרש רעה תבואנו׃
27 (UKJV) He that diligently seeks good procures favour: but he that seeks mischief, it shall come unto him.

28 (HEM) בוטח בעשרו הוא יפל וכעלה צדיקים יפרחו׃
28 (UKJV) "He that trusts in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch. "

29 (HEM) עוכר ביתו ינחל רוח ועבד אויל לחכם לב׃
29 (UKJV) He that troubles his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 (HEM) פרי צדיק עץ חיים ולקח נפשות חכם׃
30 (UKJV) "The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that wins souls is wise. "

31 (HEM) הן צדיק בארץ ישלם אף כי רשע וחוטא׃
31 (UKJV) Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
