1 (HEM) משלי שלמה בן חכם ישמח אב ובן כסיל תוגת אמו׃
1 (UKJV) The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.

2 (HEM) לא יועילו אוצרות רשע וצדקה תציל ממות׃
2 (UKJV) Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivers from death.

3 (HEM) לא ירעיב יהוה נפש צדיק והות רשעים יהדף׃
3 (UKJV) The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casts away the substance of the wicked.

4 (HEM) ראש עשה כף רמיה ויד חרוצים תעשיר׃
4 (UKJV) He becomes poor that deals with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

5 (HEM) אגר בקיץ בן משכיל נרדם בקציר בן מביש׃
5 (UKJV) He that gathers in summer is a wise son: but he that sleeps in harvest is a son that causes shame.

6 (HEM) ברכות לראש צדיק ופי רשעים יכסה חמס׃
6 (UKJV) Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

7 (HEM) זכר צדיק לברכה ושם רשעים ירקב׃
7 (UKJV) The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.

8 (HEM) חכם לב יקח מצות ואויל שפתים ילבט׃
8 (UKJV) The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a babbling fool shall fall.

9 (HEM) הולך בתם ילך בטח ומעקש דרכיו יודע׃
9 (UKJV) He that walks uprightly walks surely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known.

10 (HEM) קרץ עין יתן עצבת ואויל שפתים ילבט׃
10 (UKJV) He that winks with the eye causes sorrow: but a babbling fool shall fall.

11 (HEM) מקור חיים פי צדיק ופי רשעים יכסה חמס׃
11 (UKJV) The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

12 (HEM) שנאה תעורר מדנים ועל כל פשעים תכסה אהבה׃
12 (UKJV) Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.

13 (HEM) בשפתי נבון תמצא חכמה ושבט לגו חסר לב׃
13 (UKJV) In the lips of him that has understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.

14 (HEM) חכמים יצפנו דעת ופי אויל מחתה קרבה׃
14 (UKJV) Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.

15 (HEM) הון עשיר קרית עזו מחתת דלים רישם׃
15 (UKJV) The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16 (HEM) פעלת צדיק לחיים תבואת רשע לחטאת׃
16 (UKJV) The labour of the righteous tends to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.

17 (HEM) ארח לחיים שומר מוסר ועוזב תוכחת מתעה׃
17 (UKJV) He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but he that refuses reproof errs.

18 (HEM) מכסה שנאה שפתי שקר ומוצא דבה הוא כסיל׃
18 (UKJV) He that hides hatred with lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool.

19 (HEM) ברב דברים לא יחדל פשע וחשך שפתיו משכיל׃
19 (UKJV) In the multitude of words there wants not sin: but he that refrains his lips is wise.

20 (HEM) כסף נבחר לשון צדיק לב רשעים כמעט׃
20 (UKJV) The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

21 (HEM) שפתי צדיק ירעו רבים ואוילים בחסר לב ימותו׃
21 (UKJV) The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for lack of wisdom.

22 (HEM) ברכת יהוה היא תעשיר ולא יוסף עצב עמה׃
22 (UKJV) The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

23 (HEM) כשחוק לכסיל עשות זמה וחכמה לאיש תבונה׃
23 (UKJV) It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding has wisdom.

24 (HEM) מגורת רשע היא תבואנו ותאות צדיקים יתן׃
24 (UKJV) The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 (HEM) כעבור סופה ואין רשע וצדיק יסוד עולם׃
25 (UKJV) As the whirlwind passes, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

26 (HEM) כחמץ לשנים וכעשן לעינים כן העצל לשלחיו׃
26 (UKJV) As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.

27 (HEM) יראת יהוה תוסיף ימים ושנות רשעים תקצרנה׃
27 (UKJV) The fear of the LORD prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 (HEM) תוחלת צדיקים שמחה ותקות רשעים תאבד׃
28 (UKJV) The hope of the righteous shall be gladness: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29 (HEM) מעוז לתם דרך יהוה ומחתה לפעלי און׃
29 (UKJV) The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

30 (HEM) צדיק לעולם בל ימוט ורשעים לא ישכנו ארץ׃
30 (UKJV) The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 (HEM) פי צדיק ינוב חכמה ולשון תהפכות תכרת׃
31 (UKJV) The mouth of the just brings forth wisdom: but the perverse tongue shall be cut out.

32 (HEM) שפתי צדיק ידעון רצון ופי רשעים תהפכות׃
32 (UKJV) The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverseness.
