Kniha Exodus

1 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it:
1 (B21) Hospodin promluvil k Mojžíšovi: "Jdi, pokračuj odsud dál. Spolu s lidem, který jsi vyvedl z Egypta, jdi do země, kterou jsem zaslíbil Abrahamovi, Izákovi a Jákobovi s přísahou: ‚Dám ji tvému semeni.'

2 (KJV) And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite:
2 (B21) Pošlu před tebou svého anděla a vyženu Kananejce, Emorejce, Chetejce, Perizejce, Hivejce i Jebusejce.

3 (KJV) Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.
3 (B21) Půjdeš do země oplývající mlékem a medem, avšak já s tebou nepůjdu, abych tě cestou nevyhladil, neboť jste tvrdošíjný lid."

4 (KJV) And when the people heard these evil tidings, they mourned: and no man did put on him his ornaments.
4 (B21) A když lid uslyšel tu zlou zprávu, truchlili a nikdo na sebe nevzal žádnou ozdobu.

5 (KJV) For the LORD had said unto Moses, Say unto the children of Israel, Ye are a stiffnecked people: I will come up into the midst of thee in a moment, and consume thee: therefore now put off thy ornaments from thee, that I may know what to do unto thee.
5 (B21) Hospodin totiž Mojžíšovi řekl: "Vyřiď synům Izraele: Jste tvrdošíjný lid. Kdybych s vámi šel jedinou chvíli, musel bych vás vyhladit. Nyní se zbavte ozdob, potom se rozhodnu, co s vámi učiním."

6 (KJV) And the children of Israel stripped themselves of their ornaments by the mount Horeb.
6 (B21) Od hory Oréb šli tedy synové Izraele bez ozdob.

7 (KJV) And Moses took the tabernacle, and pitched it without the camp, afar off from the camp, and called it the Tabernacle of the congregation. And it came to pass, that every one which sought the LORD went out unto the tabernacle of the congregation, which was without the camp.
7 (B21) Mojžíš bral stan a vztyčoval si jej venku za táborem, daleko od tábora. Nazval jej Stan setkávání. Když chtěl kdokoli hledat Hospodina, musel vycházet ke Stanu setkávání, který byl venku za táborem.

8 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Moses went out unto the tabernacle, that all the people rose up, and stood every man at his tent door, and looked after Moses, until he was gone into the tabernacle.
8 (B21) Když Mojžíš vycházel ke Stanu, všechen lid vstával. Zůstali stát každý u vchodu do svého stanu a dívali se za Mojžíšem, dokud nevešel do Stanu.

9 (KJV) And it came to pass, as Moses entered into the tabernacle, the cloudy pillar descended, and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
9 (B21) Kdykoli Mojžíš vcházel do Stanu, sestupoval oblakový sloup a stavěl se ke vchodu do Stanu, kde Bůh mluvil s Mojžíšem.

10 (KJV) And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door.
10 (B21) Všechen lid tehdy viděl oblakový sloup stojící u vchodu do Stanu a všechen lid vstával a klaněli se, každý u vchodu do svého stanu.

11 (KJV) And the LORD spake unto Moses face to face, as a man speaketh unto his friend. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Joshua, the son of Nun, a young man, departed not out of the tabernacle.
11 (B21) Hospodin mluvíval s Mojžíšem tváří v tvář, jako mluví člověk se svým přítelem. Mojžíš se potom vracel do tábora, ale jeho pomocník, mladý Jozue, Nunův syn, od Stanu neodcházel.

12 (KJV) And Moses said unto the LORD, See, thou sayest unto me, Bring up this people: and thou hast not let me know whom thou wilt send with me. Yet thou hast said, I know thee by name, and thou hast also found grace in my sight.
12 (B21) Mojžíš Hospodinu namítl: "Pohleď, říkáš mi: ‚Veď tento lid dál,' ale neukázal jsi mi, koho se mnou pošleš. Řekl jsi: ‚Znám tě osobně a našel jsem v tobě zalíbení.'

13 (KJV) Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
13 (B21) Máš-li ve mně zalíbení, dej mi prosím poznat své cesty, abych tě znal a nacházel u tebe milost. Pohleď, vždyť tento národ je tvůj lid!"

14 (KJV) And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
14 (B21) Ten odpověděl: "Má přítomnost půjde s tebou a dám ti odpočinout."

15 (KJV) And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
15 (B21) Mojžíš mu řekl: "Nemá-li s námi jít tvá přítomnost, nikam nás odsud nevoď!

16 (KJV) For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.
16 (B21) Jak by se jinak poznalo, že máš ve mně a v mém lidu zalíbení, než když půjdeš s námi? Právě to mě i tvůj lid odliší od každého lidu na povrchu země."

17 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, I will do this thing also that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name.
17 (B21) Hospodin Mojžíšovi odpověděl: "Splním i tuto tvou prosbu, neboť jsem v tobě našel zalíbení a znám tě osobně."

18 (KJV) And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.
18 (B21) Mojžíš řekl: "Ukaž mi prosím svou slávu!"

19 (KJV) And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the LORD before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.
19 (B21) Odpověděl: "Nechám před tebou projít všechnu svou dobrotu a vyslovím před tebou jméno Hospodin. Smiluji se, nad kým se smiluji, a slituji se, nad kým se slituji."

20 (KJV) And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.
20 (B21) Potom dodal: "Nebudeš moci spatřit mou tvář. Žádný člověk mě nemůže spatřit a zůstat naživu."

21 (KJV) And the LORD said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
21 (B21) Hospodin ještě řekl: "Hle, u mne je místo, kde staneš na skále.

22 (KJV) And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
22 (B21) Až tudy půjde má sláva, postavím tě do skalní rozsedliny a přikryji tě svou dlaní, dokud nepřejdu.

23 (KJV) And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.
23 (B21) Až potom dlaň odtáhnu, spatříš má záda; mou tvář však nikdo nespatří."
