1 (HEM) וישמע יתרו כהן מדין חתן משה את כל אשר עשה אלהים למשה ולישראל עמו כי הוציא יהוה את ישראל ממצרים׃
1 (KAT) Keď Mojžišov tesť, madiánsky kňaz Jetro, počul, čo všetko Boh urobil Mojžišovi a jeho ľudu, Izraelu, že totiž vyviedol Izraelitov z Egypta,
1 (UKJV) "When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt; "

2 (HEM) ויקח יתרו חתן משה את צפרה אשת משה אחר שלוחיה׃
2 (KAT) vzal Mojžišov tesť Jetro Mojžišovu ženu Seforu, ktorú on poslal späť,
2 (UKJV) Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,

3 (HEM) ואת שני בניה אשר שם האחד גרשם כי אמר גר הייתי בארץ נכריה׃
3 (KAT) a s ňou oboch synov. Jeden z nich mal meno Gerson, lebo povedal: „Som prišelcom v cudzej krajine,“
3 (UKJV) "And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an foreigner in a strange land: "

4 (HEM) ושם האחד אליעזר כי אלהי אבי בעזרי ויצלני מחרב פרעה׃
4 (KAT) druhý sa volal Eliezer, lebo povedal: „Boh môjho otca bol mojou pomocou a vyslobodil ma od faraónovho meča.“
4 (UKJV) "And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh: "

5 (HEM) ויבא יתרו חתן משה ובניו ואשתו אל משה אל המדבר אשר הוא חנה שם הר האלהים׃
5 (KAT) A Jetro prišiel s jeho synmi a s jeho ženou k Mojžišovi na púšť, kde on táboril pri Božom vrchu.
5 (UKJV) And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:

6 (HEM) ויאמר אל משה אני חתנך יתרו בא אליך ואשתך ושני בניה עמה׃
6 (KAT) Keď odkázal Mojžišovi: „Ja, tvoj tesť Jetro, idem k tebe s tvojou ženou a obaja jej synovia s ňou,“
6 (UKJV) And he said unto Moses, I your father in law Jethro am come unto you, and your wife, and her two sons with her.

7 (HEM) ויצא משה לקראת חתנו וישתחו וישק לו וישאלו איש לרעהו לשלום ויבאו האהלה׃
7 (KAT) vybral sa Mojžiš a šiel svojmu tesťovi naproti, poklonil sa mu a pobozkal ho. Potom sa vypytovali jeden druhého, ako sa majú, a vošli do stanu.
7 (UKJV) "And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did reverence, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent. "

8 (HEM) ויספר משה לחתנו את כל אשר עשה יהוה לפרעה ולמצרים על אודת ישראל את כל התלאה אשר מצאתם בדרך ויצלם יהוה׃
8 (KAT) Potom Mojžiš rozprával svojmu tesťovi, čo Pán urobil faraónovi a Egypťanom pre Izrael, o všetkých strastiach, ktoré ich cestou zastihli, a (ako) ich Pán zachránil.
8 (UKJV) And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.

9 (HEM) ויחד יתרו על כל הטובה אשר עשה יהוה לישראל אשר הצילו מיד מצרים׃
9 (KAT) A Jetro sa tešil zo všetkého dobrého, čo Pán urobil Izraelu, keď ho vyslobodil z ruky Egypťanov.
9 (UKJV) And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.

10 (HEM) ויאמר יתרו ברוך יהוה אשר הציל אתכם מיד מצרים ומיד פרעה אשר הציל את העם מתחת יד מצרים׃
10 (KAT) Jetro povedal: „Nech je zvelebený Pán, ktorý vás vyslobodil z rúk Egypťanov a faraóna.
10 (UKJV) And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

11 (HEM) עתה ידעתי כי גדול יהוה מכל האלהים כי בדבר אשר זדו עליהם׃
11 (KAT) Teraz už viem, že Pán je väčší ako všetci bohovia. To sa stalo preto, že sa vynášali nad vás.“
11 (UKJV) Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.

12 (HEM) ויקח יתרו חתן משה עלה וזבחים לאלהים ויבא אהרן וכל זקני ישראל לאכל לחם עם חתן משה לפני האלהים׃
12 (KAT) Potom Mojžišov tesť Jetro obetoval Bohu zápalnú a krvavú obetu a Áron so všetkými staršími Izraela prišli, aby boli s Mojžišovým tesťom pred Bohom prítomní na obetnej hostine.
12 (UKJV) And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.

13 (HEM) ויהי ממחרת וישב משה לשפט את העם ויעמד העם על משה מן הבקר עד הערב׃
13 (KAT) Na druhý deň sa Mojžiš posadil a súdil ľud, ktorý k nemu prichodil od rána až do večera.
13 (UKJV) And it came to pass on the next day, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.

14 (HEM) וירא חתן משה את כל אשר הוא עשה לעם ויאמר מה הדבר הזה אשר אתה עשה לעם מדוע אתה יושב לבדך וכל העם נצב עליך מן בקר עד ערב׃
14 (KAT) Keď Mojžišov tesť videl, čo všetko robí pre ľud, povedal: „Čo to ty všetko robíš pre ľud?! Prečo zasadáš (na súd) sám a všetok ľud ťa od rána do večera obklopuje?“
14 (UKJV) And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that you do to the people? why sit you yourself alone, and all the people stand by you from morning unto even?

15 (HEM) ויאמר משה לחתנו כי יבא אלי העם לדרש אלהים׃
15 (KAT) Mojžiš odvetil svojmu tesťovi: „Preto, že ľud prichádza ku mne, aby si vyžiadal Boží rozsudok.
15 (UKJV) And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:

16 (HEM) כי יהיה להם דבר בא אלי ושפטתי בין איש ובין רעהו והודעתי את חקי האלהים ואת תורתיו׃
16 (KAT) Keď sa medzi nimi vyskytne spor, prichádzajú ku mne, aby som rozhodol medzi stránkami a oznamoval im Božie predpisy a zákony.“
16 (UKJV) "When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws. "

17 (HEM) ויאמר חתן משה אליו לא טוב הדבר אשר אתה עשה׃
17 (KAT) Mojžišov tesť mu povedal: „To nie je dobre, ako to robíš!
17 (UKJV) And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that you do is not good.

18 (HEM) נבל תבל גם אתה גם העם הזה אשר עמך כי כבד ממך הדבר לא תוכל עשהו לבדך׃
18 (KAT) Takto celkom vysilíš seba aj tento ľud, ktorý je pri tebe. Veď táto vec je ťažká pre teba, sám (jediný) ju nebudeš môcť konať.
18 (UKJV) "You will surely wear away, both you, and this people that is with you: for this thing is too heavy for you; you are not able to perform it yourself alone. "

19 (HEM) עתה שמע בקלי איעצך ויהי אלהים עמך היה אתה לעם מול האלהים והבאת אתה את הדברים אל האלהים׃
19 (KAT) Počúvni teraz môj hlas, dám ti radu a Pán bude s tebou: Ty buď zástupcom ľudu pred Bohom a ty prednášaj jeho záležitosti Bohu!
19 (UKJV) Hearken now unto my voice, I will give you counsel, and God shall be with you: Be you for the people toward God, that you may bring the causes unto God:

20 (HEM) והזהרתה אתהם את החקים ואת התורת והודעת להם את הדרך ילכו בה ואת המעשה אשר יעשון׃
20 (KAT) Poučuj ich o ustanoveniach a zákonoch a uč ich ceste, po ktorej majú kráčať, a činom, ktoré majú konať.
20 (UKJV) And you shall teach them ordinances and laws, and shall show them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.

21 (HEM) ואתה תחזה מכל העם אנשי חיל יראי אלהים אנשי אמת שנאי בצע ושמת עלהם שרי אלפים שרי מאות שרי חמשים ושרי עשרת׃
21 (KAT) Vyhliadni si však spomedzi všetkého ľudu schopných, bohabojných mužov, mužov dôveryhodných a nezištných, a ustanov ich za tisícnikov, stotníkov, päťdesiatnikov a desiatnikov.
21 (UKJV) "Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens: "

22 (HEM) ושפטו את העם בכל עת והיה כל הדבר הגדל יביאו אליך וכל הדבר הקטן ישפטו הם והקל מעליך ונשאו אתך׃
22 (KAT) Oni nech súdia ľud v každý čas a to tak, že vážnejšie prípady prednesú tebe a všetky menšie veci rozsúdia sami. Uľahči si a oni nech ponesú zodpovednosť s tebou.
22 (UKJV) And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto you, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for yourself, and they shall bear the burden with you.

23 (HEM) אם את הדבר הזה תעשה וצוך אלהים ויכלת עמד וגם כל העם הזה על מקמו יבא בשלום׃
23 (KAT) Ak to urobíš takto a ak ti to Boh dovolí, tak obstojíš; a všetok tento ľud bude sa vracať domov spokojný.“
23 (UKJV) If you shall do this thing, and God command you so, then you shall be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.

24 (HEM) וישמע משה לקול חתנו ויעש כל אשר אמר׃
24 (KAT) Mojžiš počúvol slová svojho tesťa a urobil všetko, čo mu poradil.
24 (UKJV) So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.

25 (HEM) ויבחר משה אנשי חיל מכל ישראל ויתן אתם ראשים על העם שרי אלפים שרי מאות שרי חמשים ושרי עשרת׃
25 (KAT) Mojžiš teda vyvolil z celého Izraela schopných mužov a ustanovil ich za predákov nad ľudom, za tisícnikov, stotníkov, päťdesiatnikov a desiatnikov.
25 (UKJV) And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

26 (HEM) ושפטו את העם בכל עת את הדבר הקשה יביאון אל משה וכל הדבר הקטן ישפוטו הם׃
26 (KAT) A oni súdili ľud v každom čase, len ťažšie prípady prednášali Mojžišovi, o všetkých menších rozhodovali však sami.
26 (UKJV) And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

27 (HEM) וישלח משה את חתנו וילך לו אל ארצו׃
27 (KAT) Potom Mojžiš vyprevadil svojho tesťa a on odišiel do svojho kraja.
27 (UKJV) "And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land. "
