1 (UKJV) And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
1 (LS) Toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël partit du désert de Sin, selon les marches que l'Eternel leur avait ordonnées; et ils campèrent à Rephidim, où le peuple ne trouva point d'eau à boire.
2 (UKJV) Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide all of you with me? wherefore do all of you tempt the LORD?
2 (LS) Alors le peuple chercha querelle à Moïse. Ils dirent: Donnez-nous de l'eau à boire. Moïse leur répondit: Pourquoi me cherchez-vous querelle? Pourquoi tentez-vous l'Eternel?
3 (UKJV) "And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that you have brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? "
3 (LS) Le peuple était là, pressé par la soif, et murmurait contre Moïse. Il disait: Pourquoi nous as-tu fait monter hors d'Egypte, pour me faire mourir de soif avec mes enfants et mes troupeaux?
4 (UKJV) And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
4 (LS) Moïse cria à l'Eternel, en disant: Que ferai-je à ce peuple? Encore un peu, et ils me lapideront.
5 (UKJV) "And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with you of the elders of Israel; and your rod, wherewith you smote the river, take in your hand, and go. "
5 (LS) L'Eternel dit à Moïse: Passe devant le peuple, et prends avec toi des anciens d'Israël; prends aussi dans ta main ta verge avec laquelle tu as frappé le fleuve, et marche!
6 (UKJV) "Behold, I will stand before you there upon the rock in Horeb; and you shall strike the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. "
6 (LS) Voici, je me tiendrai devant toi sur le rocher d'Horeb; tu frapperas le rocher, et il en sortira de l'eau, et le peuple boira. Et Moïse fit ainsi, aux yeux des anciens d'Israël.
7 (UKJV) And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
7 (LS) Il donna à ce lieu le nom de Massa et Meriba, parce que les enfants d'Israël avaient contesté, et parce qu'ils avaient tenté l'Eternel, en disant: L'Eternel est-il au milieu de nous, ou n'y est-il pas?
8 (UKJV) Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
8 (LS) Amalek vint combattre Israël à Rephidim.
9 (UKJV) And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
9 (LS) Alors Moïse dit à Josué: Choisis-nous des hommes, sors, et combats Amalek; demain je me tiendrai sur le sommet de la colline, la verge de Dieu dans ma main.
10 (UKJV) So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
10 (LS) Josué fit ce que lui avait dit Moïse, pour combattre Amalek. Et Moïse, Aaron et Hur montèrent au sommet de la colline.
11 (UKJV) And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
11 (LS) Lorsque Moïse élevait sa main, Israël était le plus fort; et lorsqu'il baissait sa main, Amalek était le plus fort.
12 (UKJV) "But Moses hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. "
12 (LS) Les mains de Moïse étant fatiguées, ils prirent une pierre qu'ils placèrent sous lui, et il s'assit dessus. Aaron et Hur soutenaient ses mains, l'un d'un côté, l'autre de l'autre; et ses mains restèrent fermes jusqu'au coucher du soleil.
13 (UKJV) And Joshua humiliated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
13 (LS) Et Josué vainquit Amalek et son peuple, au tranchant de l'épée.
14 (UKJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
14 (LS) L'Eternel dit à Moïse: Ecris cela dans le livre, pour que le souvenir s'en conserve, et déclare à Josué que j'effacerai la mémoire d'Amalek de dessous les cieux.
15 (UKJV) And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovahnissi:
15 (LS) Moïse bâtit un autel, et lui donna pour nom: l'Eternel ma bannière.
16 (UKJV) For he said, Because the LORD has sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
16 (LS) Il dit: Parce que la main a été levée sur le trône de l'Eternel, il y aura guerre de l'Eternel contre Amalek, de génération en génération.

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide all of you with me? wherefore do all of you tempt the LORD?
Nm 20:3 - And the people find fault with Moses, and spoke, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with you of the elders of Israel; and your rod, wherewith you smote the river, take in your hand, and go. "
Ex 7:20 - "And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and stroke the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. "

Nm 20:9 - And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
Ž 78:15 - He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
Ž 114:8 - Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
1Kor 10:4 - And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
Dt 25:17 - "Remember what Amalek did unto you by the way, when all of you were come forth out of Egypt; "
Verš 14
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Nm 24:20 - "And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever. "
Dt 25:17 - "Remember what Amalek did unto you by the way, when all of you were come forth out of Egypt; "
1Sam 15:2 - Thus says the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

For he said, Because the LORD has sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Ex 17,1 - Rafidim sa považuje za totožné s údolím Feiranským, kde je veľká oáza. Iní však dávajú prednosť rovine Er-Raha, ktorá sa stelie pred severozápadným výbežkom stredného chrbáta Sinajského horstva, na úpätí Džebel Músa (Mojžišova Hora).
Ex 17,7 - Massáh ,pokúšanie', Meríbáh ,vadenie'.
Ex 17,8 - O Amalekitoch pozri Gn 14,7; pozn. Nm 24,20. Amalekiti obývali severnú časť Sinajského polostrova a južný kraj Kanaánu. Skutočnosť, že sa teraz nachodia na juhu Sinajského polostrova, dá sa vari vysvetliť tým, že hľadali pastvu na vyššie položených stráňach Sinajských vrchov. Možné je aj to, že nejaký kmeň sa osadil hodne južnejšie od ostatných.
Ex 17,10 - Hur bol Kalebovým synom, teda potomkom Júdovým (1 Krn 2,18–20).
Ex 17,14 - Porov. Dt 25,19; 1 Sam 15,3; 27,8 atď.
