1 (KJV) And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.
1 (KAT) Potom na Pánov rozkaz tiahla celá izraelská pospolitosť po svojich stanoviskách z púšte Sin a utáborila sa v Rafidim, kde nebolo vody na pitie pre ľud.
1 (ROH) Potom sa rušala celá obec synov Izraelových z púšte Sín po svojich stanoviskách na rozkaz Hospodinov, a rozložili sa táborom v Refidíme, kde nebolo vody na pitie pre ľud.
2 (KJV) Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
2 (KAT) A ľud doliehal na Mojžiša a vravel: „Daj nám vodu na pitie!“ Ale Mojžiš im odvetil: „Prečo sa vadíte so mnou a prečo pokúšate Pána?“
2 (ROH) Preto sa vadil ľud s Mojžišom, a vraveli: Dajte nám vody, aby sme pili! A Mojžiš im povedal: Prečo sa vadíte so mnou? Prečo pokúšate Hospodina?
3 (KJV) And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst?
3 (KAT) Ale ľud, ktorý tam dychtil po vode, reptal proti Mojžišovi a vravel: „Načo si nás len vyviedol z Egypta?! Vari na to, aby si mňa, moje deti a môj dobytok umoril smädom?“
3 (ROH) A ľud tam bol smädný a žiadal si vody, reptal proti Mojžišovi a vravel: Prečo si nás vyviedol sem hore z Egypta, aby si umoril mňa i mojich synov i moje stáda dobytka smädom?
4 (KJV) And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.
4 (KAT) Tu Mojžiš volal k Pánovi: „Čo si počnem s týmto ľudom?! Len trošku a ukameňovali by ma!“
4 (ROH) Vtedy kričal Mojžiš k Hospodinovi a vravel: Čo mám urobiť tomuto ľudu? Ešte niečo málo, a ukameňujú ma.
5 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
5 (KAT) Pán odpovedal Mojžišovi: „Predstúp pred ľud, zober si niektorých starších z Izraela, do ruky si vezmi svoju palicu, ktorou si udieral Níl, a choď!
5 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol Mojžišovi: Idi pred ľudom a pojmi so sebou niektorých zo starších Izraelových i svoju palicu, ktorou si uderil rieku, vezmi do svojej ruky a pojdeš.
6 (KJV) Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
6 (KAT) Hľa, ja tam budem stáť pred tebou na skale, na Horebe! Udri potom na skalu, vytečie z nej voda a ľud bude môcť piť.“ A Mojžiš urobil tak pred staršími Izraela.
6 (ROH) Hľa, ja tam budem stáť pred tebou na skale na Hórebe. A uderíš na skalu, a vyjdú z nej vody, a ľud bude piť. A Mojžiš urobil tak pred očami starších Izraelových.
7 (KJV) And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?
7 (KAT) Potom nazval to miesto Massa a Meríba, lebo Izraeliti sa tam vadili a pokúšali Pána, keď vraveli: „Je teda Pán medzi nami, alebo nie?“
7 (ROH) A nazval meno toho miesta Massa a Meríba , preto, že sa vadili synovia Izraelovi a preto, že pokúšali Hospodina tým, že vraveli: Či je Hospodin medzi nami, či nie je?
8 (KJV) Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
8 (KAT) Tu prišiel Amalek a pri Rafidim napadol Izrael.
8 (ROH) A prišiel Amalech a bojoval s Izraelom v Refidíme.
9 (KJV) And Moses said unto Joshua, Choose us out men, and go out, fight with Amalek: to morrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the rod of God in mine hand.
9 (KAT) Vtedy Mojžiš povedal Jozuemu: „Vyber nám mužov a choď bojovať s Amalekom! Ja budem stáť na končiari vrchu s Božou palicou v ruke.“
9 (ROH) Vtedy povedal Mojžiš Jozuovi: Vyber nám mužov a vyjdi, bojuj proti Amalechovi. Ja budem zajtra stáť hore na brehu, a palica Božia bude v mojej ruke.
10 (KJV) So Joshua did as Moses had said to him, and fought with Amalek: and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.
10 (KAT) A Jozue urobil, ako mu uložil Mojžiš, a dal sa do boja s Amalekom. Mojžiš, Áron a Hur vystúpili na končiar vrchu.
10 (ROH) A Jozua urobil tak, ako mu povedal Mojžiš, bojoval proti Amalechovi. A Mojžiš, Áron a Húr vyšli na vrch toho brehu.
11 (KJV) And it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed.
11 (KAT) A kým mal Mojžiš zdvihnuté ruky, víťazil Izrael, len čo ruky spustil, víťazil Amalek.
11 (ROH) A bolo, dokiaľ držal Mojžiš svoju ruku zdvihnutú, premáhal Izrael; ale keď spustil svoju ruku, premáhal Amalech.
12 (KJV) But Moses' hands were heavy; and they took a stone, and put it under him, and he sat thereon; and Aaron and Hur stayed up his hands, the one on the one side, and the other on the other side; and his hands were steady until the going down of the sun.
12 (KAT) Ale Mojžišovi ruky oťaželi. Tu vzali kameň a podložili mu ho, a on si naň sadol. Áron a Hur mu ruky podopierali jeden z jednej a druhý z druhej strany, a tak zostali jeho ruky v rovnakej polohe až do západu slnka.
12 (ROH) A keďže boly ruky Mojžišove ťažké, vzali kameň a položili pod neho, a sadol naň, a Áron a Húr podopierali jeho ruky, jeden z jednej a druhý z druhej strany, a tak stály jeho ruky pevne až do západu slnca.
13 (KJV) And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
13 (KAT) A Jozue porazil Amaleka a jeho ľud ostrím meča.
13 (ROH) Tak porazil Jozua Amalecha i jeho ľud ostrím meča.
14 (KJV) And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
14 (KAT) Pán potom prikázal Mojžišovi: „Zapíš to na pamiatku do knihy a vštep Jozuemu do uší, že (aj) pamiatku na Amaleka úplne vytriem spod neba.“
14 (ROH) A Hospodin riekol Mojžišovi: Napíš to na pamiatku do knihy a vlož do uší Jozuu, že docela vyhladím pamiatku Amalechovu zpod nebies.
15 (KJV) And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:
15 (KAT) Nato Mojžiš postavil oltár a nazval ho Pán je moja zástava.
15 (ROH) A Mojžiš vystavil oltár a nazval jeho meno: Hospodin môj prápor.
16 (KJV) For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
16 (KAT) Povedal: „Ruky hore k Pánovmu trónu! Pán je v boji proti Amalekovi z pokolenia na pokolenie.“
16 (ROH) A povedal: Preto, že sa odvážil pozdvihnúť ruku proti stolici Hospodinovej, boj bude Hospodinovi proti Amalechovi z pokolenia na pokolenie.

Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?
Nm 20:3 - And the people chode with Moses, and spake, saying, Would God that we had died when our brethren died before the LORD!

And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.
Ex 7:20 - And Moses and Aaron did so, as the LORD commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood.

Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
Nm 20:9 - And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.
Ž 78:15 - He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths.
Ž 114:8 - Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
1Kor 10:4 - And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim.
Dt 25:17 - Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
Verš 14
And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
Nm 24:20 - And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
Dt 25:17 - Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt;
1Sam 15:2 - Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.

For he said, Because the LORD hath sworn that the LORD will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.

Ex 17,1 - Rafidim sa považuje za totožné s údolím Feiranským, kde je veľká oáza. Iní však dávajú prednosť rovine Er-Raha, ktorá sa stelie pred severozápadným výbežkom stredného chrbáta Sinajského horstva, na úpätí Džebel Músa (Mojžišova Hora).
Ex 17,7 - Massáh ,pokúšanie', Meríbáh ,vadenie'.
Ex 17,8 - O Amalekitoch pozri Gn 14,7; pozn. Nm 24,20. Amalekiti obývali severnú časť Sinajského polostrova a južný kraj Kanaánu. Skutočnosť, že sa teraz nachodia na juhu Sinajského polostrova, dá sa vari vysvetliť tým, že hľadali pastvu na vyššie položených stráňach Sinajských vrchov. Možné je aj to, že nejaký kmeň sa osadil hodne južnejšie od ostatných.
Ex 17,10 - Hur bol Kalebovým synom, teda potomkom Júdovým (1 Krn 2,18–20).
Ex 17,14 - Porov. Dt 25,19; 1 Sam 15,3; 27,8 atď.
