Ž 97, 1-12

1 (KJV) The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

2 (KJV) Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

3 (KJV) A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

4 (KJV) His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

5 (KJV) The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

6 (KJV) The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

7 (KJV) Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.

8 (KJV) Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

9 (KJV) For thou, LORD, art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

10 (KJV) Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

11 (KJV) Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

12 (KJV) Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

Verš 1
The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.
Ž 93:1 - The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved.
Ž 96:10 - Say among the heathen that the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he shall judge the people righteously.

Verš 10
Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
Am 5:15 - Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Rim 12:9 - Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
Zjv 4:5 - And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God.
Ž 77:16 - The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.

Verš 6
The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
Ž 19:1 - The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Ž 50:6 - And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Z 97 - Autor Listu Hebrejom 7. verš tohto žalmu cituje podľa gréckej osnovy a dokazuje nim božstvo Ježiša Krista (Hebr 1,6). Žalm je tiež prorocký a opisuje príchod Božieho kráľovstva.

Z 97,1 - Pohnútkou k tejto všeobecnej radosti je príchod Pána v mesiášskych časoch, príchod Kráľa a Sudcu všetkých národov a všetkých končín sveta (Iz 42,10; 51,5).

Z 97,8 - "Dcéry Júdove" je hebraizmus a označuje všetky mestá a dediny júdskeho kráľovstva. A keďže Sion je stredobodom univerzálneho mesiášskeho kráľovstva, znázorňujú svetovú všeobecnosť.
