1 Ž 97, 1 A Psalm of David himself. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has performed wonders. His right hand has accomplished salvation for him, with his holy arm. 2 Ž 97, 2 The Lord has made known his salvation. He has revealed his justice in the sight of the nations. 3 Ž 97, 3 He has remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. 4 Ž 97, 4 Sing joyfully to God, all the earth. Sing and exult, and sing psalms. 5 Ž 97, 5 Sing psalms to the Lord with stringed instruments, with strings and the voice of a psalmist, 6 Ž 97, 6 with subtle wind instruments and the voice of woodwinds. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king. 7 Ž 97, 7 Let the sea be moved and all its fullness, the whole world and all who dwell in it. 8 Ž 97, 8 The rivers will clap their hands, the mountains will exult together, 9 Ž 97, 9 before the presence of the Lord. For he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with justice, and the peoples with fairness.

A Psalm of David himself. Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has performed wonders. His right hand has accomplished salvation for him, with his holy arm.
Ž 93:1 - A Psalm of David himself. The Fourth Sabbath. The Lord is the God of retribution. The God of retribution acts in order to deliver.
Ž 96:10 - You who love the Lord: hate evil. The Lord watches over the souls of his holy ones. He will free them from the hand of the sinner.

Z 97 - Autor Listu Hebrejom 7. verš tohto žalmu cituje podľa gréckej osnovy a dokazuje nim božstvo Ježiša Krista (Hebr 1,6). Žalm je tiež prorocký a opisuje príchod Božieho kráľovstva.
Z 97,1 - Pohnútkou k tejto všeobecnej radosti je príchod Pána v mesiášskych časoch, príchod Kráľa a Sudcu všetkých národov a všetkých končín sveta (Iz 42,10; 51,5).
Z 97,8 - "Dcéry Júdove" je hebraizmus a označuje všetky mestá a dediny júdskeho kráľovstva. A keďže Sion je stredobodom univerzálneho mesiášskeho kráľovstva, znázorňujú svetovú všeobecnosť.
