1 (HEM) תפלה למשה איש האלהים אדני מעון אתה היית לנו בדר ודר׃
1 (UKJV) Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 (HEM) בטרם הרים ילדו ותחולל ארץ ותבל ומעולם עד עולם אתה אל׃
2 (UKJV) Before the mountains were brought forth, before even you had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, you are God.
3 (HEM) תשב אנוש עד דכא ותאמר שובו בני אדם׃
3 (UKJV) "You turn man to destruction; and say, Return, all of you children of men. "
4 (HEM) כי אלף שנים בעיניך כיום אתמול כי יעבר ואשמורה בלילה׃
4 (UKJV) For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
5 (HEM) זרמתם שנה יהיו בבקר כחציר יחלף׃
5 (UKJV) "You carry them away as with a flood; they are as a sleep: in the morning they are like grass which grows up. "
6 (HEM) בבקר יציץ וחלף לערב ימולל ויבש׃
6 (UKJV) "In the morning it flourishes, and grows up; in the evening it is cut down, and withers. "
7 (HEM) כי כלינו באפך ובחמתך נבהלנו׃
7 (UKJV) For we are consumed by your anger, and by your wrath are we troubled.
8 (HEM) שת עונתינו לנגדך עלמנו למאור פניך׃
8 (UKJV) You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your countenance.
9 (HEM) כי כל ימינו פנו בעברתך כלינו שנינו כמו הגה׃
9 (UKJV) For all our days are passed away in your wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told.
10 (HEM) ימי שנותינו בהם שבעים שנה ואם בגבורת שמונים שנה ורהבם עמל ואון כי גז חיש ונעפה׃
10 (UKJV) "The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. "
11 (HEM) מי יודע עז אפך וכיראתך עברתך׃
11 (UKJV) Who knows the power of your anger? even according to your fear, so is your wrath.
12 (HEM) למנות ימינו כן הודע ונבא לבב חכמה׃
12 (UKJV) So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
13 (HEM) שובה יהוה עד מתי והנחם על עבדיך׃
13 (UKJV) Return, O LORD, how long? and let it repent you concerning your servants.
14 (HEM) שבענו בבקר חסדך ונרננה ונשמחה בכל ימינו׃
14 (UKJV) "O satisfy us early with your mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days. "
15 (HEM) שמחנו כימות עניתנו שנות ראינו רעה׃
15 (UKJV) Make us glad according to the days wherein you have afflicted us, and the years wherein we have seen evil.
16 (HEM) יראה אל עבדיך פעלך והדרך על בניהם׃
16 (UKJV) Let your work appear unto your servants, and your glory unto their children.
17 (HEM) ויהי נעם אדני אלהינו עלינו ומעשה ידינו כוננה עלינו ומעשה ידינו כוננהו׃
17 (UKJV) "And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us: and establish you the work of our hands upon us; yea, the work of our hands establish you it. "

Z 90 - Nadpis označuje za autora žalmu Mojžiša. Ani z obsahu nemožno nič uviesť, čo by protirečilo tomuto tvrdeniu.
Z 90,2 - Pre večného Boha je vznik sveta iba ako narodenie človeka.
Z 90,3 - Jediným slovom stvoril človeka a takisto jediným prejavom svojej vôle ukončieva ľudský život.
Z 90,4 - "Ako jedna nočná stráž." (Židia rozdeľovali noc na tri čiastky, na tri stráže po štyroch hodinách: 6-10, 10-2 a 2-6; meno "šámrách" je pravdepodobne z toho, že po štyroch hodinách sa vymieňali stráže či už v chráme alebo na poli atď.), čas veľmi krátky, ktorý ani pre človeka neznamená nič (Sdc 7,19; Ž 63,7).
Z 90,7 - Príčinou ľudskej pominuteľnosti sú hriechy (Gn 3,17-20).
Z 90,16 - Žiadané milosrdenstvo, radosť, prejavy Božieho "diela" (dielo pomoci, spásy a vykúpenia), Božia "nádhera" (moc a všetky Božie skutky, ktorými sa preslavuje v očiach ľudí), dobrotivosť a láska sú všetko dobrá a výsady mesiášskych časov, ktorými sa zmení a zjasní náš pozemský život a ktorými Boh sprevádza naše činy, aby sme žili podľa Božej vôle.
