Žalmy

1 (KJV) Keep not thou silence, O God: hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.

2 (KJV) For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult: and they that hate thee have lifted up the head.
2 (B21) Bože, nezůstávej tiše, přeruš své mlčení, Bože, ze svého klidu probuď se!

3 (KJV) They have taken crafty counsel against thy people, and consulted against thy hidden ones.
3 (B21) Pohleď, jak se tví nepřátelé bouří, ti, kdo tě nenávidí, hlavy zvedají.

4 (KJV) They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
4 (B21) Proti tvému lidu spřádají tajné plány, radí se proti tvým nejdražším:

5 (KJV) For they have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:
5 (B21) Pojďte, říkají, ten národ vyhladíme, aby se zapomnělo na jméno Izrael!

6 (KJV) The tabernacles of Edom, and the Ishmaelites; of Moab, and the Hagarenes;
6 (B21) Jednomyslně se spolu uradili, do smlouvy proti tobě vstoupili:

7 (KJV) Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
7 (B21) tábor Edomců spolu s Izmaelity, Hagrité spolu s Moábci,

8 (KJV) Assur also is joined with them: they have holpen the children of Lot. Selah.
8 (B21) Gebal i Amon spolu s Amalekovci, Filištíni spolu s Týrskými,

9 (KJV) Do unto them as unto the Midianites; as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the brook of Kison:
9 (B21) dokonce Asyřané spolčili se s nimi - stali se posilou pro syny Lotovy!séla

10 (KJV) Which perished at Endor: they became as dung for the earth.
10 (B21) Proveď jim to, co provedls Midiánu, Siserovi a Jabínovi u potoka Kíšonu.

11 (KJV) Make their nobles like Oreb, and like Zeeb: yea, all their princes as Zebah, and as Zalmunna:
11 (B21) Rozprášeni byli tenkrát u En-doru, na zemi leželi jako hnůj!

12 (KJV) Who said, Let us take to ourselves the houses of God in possession.
12 (B21) Jejich velmoži ať jsou jak Oreb a Zeeb, všechna jejich knížata jak Zebach a Calmuna,

13 (KJV) O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind.
13 (B21) kteří si mysleli: "Budeme pány nad Božími příbytky!"

14 (KJV) As the fire burneth a wood, and as the flame setteth the mountains on fire;
14 (B21) Bože můj, dej, ať jsou jako chmýří, ať jsou jak stéblo větrem zmítané.

15 (KJV) So persecute them with thy tempest, and make them afraid with thy storm.
15 (B21) Jako když oheň vypaluje lesy, jako když plamen hory sežehne,

16 (KJV) Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD.
16 (B21) takto je stíhej svojí bouří, ať je vyděsí tvá vichřice!

17 (KJV) Let them be confounded and troubled for ever; yea, let them be put to shame, and perish:
17 (B21) Jejich tvář naplň zahanbením, tvé jméno, Hospodine, aby hledali.

18 (KJV) That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.
18 (B21) Na věčné časy ať se stydí a děsí, samou hanbou ať zmírají.

19 (B21) Tak aby poznali, že ty jediný, který máš jméno Hospodin, jsi nade vší zemí Nejvyšší!
