1 (KJV) God standeth in the congregation of the mighty; he judgeth among the gods.
1 (B21) Žalm Asafův. Ve shromáždění mocných stanul Bůh, uprostřed "bohů" soud vynesl:
2 (KJV) How long will ye judge unjustly, and accept the persons of the wicked? Selah.
2 (B21) "Jak dlouho budete soudit převráceně, jak dlouho budete na straně ničemů? séla
3 (KJV) Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.
3 (B21) Chudých a sirotků se zastávejte, nuzným a ubohým právo zjednejte!
4 (KJV) Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
4 (B21) Chudého ubožáka vysvobozujte, dejte mu uniknout z ruky ničemů!
5 (KJV) They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
5 (B21) Oni však nechápou, vůbec nerozumí, v temnotách stále tápají, bortí se všechny zemské základy!
6 (KJV) I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
6 (B21) Ano, řekl jsem: Vy jste bohové, všichni jste Nejvyššího synové.
7 (KJV) But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
7 (B21) Jakožto lidé ale zemřete, tak jako každý vůdce padnete!"
8 (KJV) Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
8 (B21) Povstaň už, Bože, abys soudil zemi - vždyť tobě patří všechny národy!

Arise, O God, judge the earth: for thou shalt inherit all nations.
Ž 2:8 - Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Heb 1:2 - Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Verš 4
Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked.
Prís 24:11 - If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
Z 82,1 - Žalmista básnickou vravou opisuje Boha, ktorý ide súdiť "sudcov" - bohov. V SZ sa sudcovia často uvádzajú pod menom: "bené(y) 'elohím" alebo len "'elohím", "synovia Boží" alebo "bohovia" (Ex 21,6; 22,8.9; Dt 1,17; 19,17), lebo zastupovali Boha, jeho moc, a v Božom mene prisluhovali spravodlivosť na zemi (Ž 58,2).
Z 82,8 - Posledný verš sa vzťahuje na mesiášske časy. Mesiáš bude Kráľom celej zeme, jemu sa poddajú všetky národy a len on jediný bude súdiť celý svet (Ž 2,8.9).
