1 (KJV) Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

2 (KJV) Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.
2 (B21) Zpívejte Bohu, naší síle, k Bohu Jákobovu radostně volejte!

3 (KJV) Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.
3 (B21) Ať zazní hudba, zvučí tamburína, líbezná loutna i citera!

4 (KJV) For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.
4 (B21) Zatrubte na roh při novoluní, při úplňku, v den naší slavnosti!

5 (KJV) This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.
5 (B21) Tak zní ustanovení dané Izraeli, tak to rozhodl Bůh Jákobův.

6 (KJV) I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.
6 (B21) Na svědectví to uložil Josefovi, když vystoupil proti Egyptu. Slyším hlas mně dosud neznámý:

7 (KJV) Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.
7 (B21) "Já jsem tvá záda zbavil břemene a tvé ruce košů zednických.

8 (KJV) Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;
8 (B21) Volal jsi v soužení a zachránil jsem tě, vyslyšel jsem tě z mraků hromových, vyzkoušel jsem tě při vodách Meriby. séla

9 (KJV) There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
9 (B21) Slyš, lide můj, zapřísahám tě, kéž bys mě, Izraeli, poslouchal!

10 (KJV) I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.
10 (B21) Nesmíš mít žádného jiného boha, cizímu bohu se neklaněj.

11 (KJV) But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.
11 (B21) Já jsem Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, který tě vyvedl ze země egyptské - naplním tvá ústa, jen co je otevřeš!

12 (KJV) So I gave them up unto their own hearts' lust: and they walked in their own counsels.
12 (B21) Můj lid mě ale neposlouchal, Izrael se mi nepoddal.

13 (KJV) Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!
13 (B21) Vydal jsem je tedy jejich zarputilosti, aby se řídili tím, co si vymyslí.

14 (KJV) I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.
14 (B21) Kéž by mě můj lid raději poslouchal, kéž by byl Izrael mé cesty sledoval!

15 (KJV) The haters of the LORD should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.
15 (B21) Rychle bych býval jejich soupeře srazil, na jejich nepřátele bych ruku obrátil.

16 (KJV) He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.
16 (B21) Odpůrci Hospodina by se museli krčit, jejich osud by se navěky zpečetil.
