1 (HEM) משכיל לאסף למה אלהים זנחת לנצח יעשן אפך בצאן מרעיתך׃
1 (UKJV) O God, why have you cast us off for ever? why does your anger smoke against the sheep of your pasture?

2 (HEM) זכר עדתך קנית קדם גאלת שבט נחלתך הר ציון זה שכנת בו׃
2 (UKJV) "Remember your congregation, which you have purchased of old; the rod of your inheritance, which you have redeemed; this mount Zion, wherein you have dwelt. "

3 (HEM) הרימה פעמיך למשאות נצח כל הרע אויב בקדש׃
3 (UKJV) "Lift up your feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary. "

4 (HEM) שאגו צרריך בקרב מועדך שמו אותתם אתות׃
4 (UKJV) "your enemies roar in the midst of your congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. "

5 (HEM) יודע כמביא למעלה בסבך עץ קרדמות׃
5 (UKJV) A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.

6 (HEM) ועת פתוחיה יחד בכשיל וכילפת יהלמון׃
6 (UKJV) But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers.

7 (HEM) שלחו באש מקדשך לארץ חללו משכן שמך׃
7 (UKJV) They have cast fire into your sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of your name to the ground.

8 (HEM) אמרו בלבם נינם יחד שרפו כל מועדי אל בארץ׃
8 (UKJV) They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.

9 (HEM) אותתינו לא ראינו אין עוד נביא ולא אתנו ידע עד מה׃
9 (UKJV) We see not our signs: there is no more any prophet: neither is there among us any that knows how long.

10 (HEM) עד מתי אלהים יחרף צר ינאץ אויב שמך לנצח׃
10 (UKJV) O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme your name for ever?

11 (HEM) למה תשיב ידך וימינך מקרב חוקך כלה׃
11 (UKJV) Why withdraw you your hand, even your right hand? pluck it out of your bosom.

12 (HEM) ואלהים מלכי מקדם פעל ישועות בקרב הארץ׃
12 (UKJV) For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.

13 (HEM) אתה פוררת בעזך ים שברת ראשי תנינים על המים׃
13 (UKJV) You did divide the sea by your strength: you brake the heads of the dragons in the waters.

14 (HEM) אתה רצצת ראשי לויתן תתננו מאכל לעם לציים׃
14 (UKJV) You brake the heads of leviathan (p. sea serpent) in pieces, and gave him to be food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.

15 (HEM) אתה בקעת מעין ונחל אתה הובשת נהרות איתן׃
15 (UKJV) You did cleave the fountain and the flood: you dried up mighty rivers.

16 (HEM) לך יום אף לך לילה אתה הכינות מאור ושמש׃
16 (UKJV) The day is yours, the night also is yours: you have prepared the light and the sun.

17 (HEM) אתה הצבת כל גבולות ארץ קיץ וחרף אתה יצרתם׃
17 (UKJV) You have set all the borders of the earth: you have made summer and winter.

18 (HEM) זכר זאת אויב חרף יהוה ועם נבל נאצו שמך׃
18 (UKJV) Remember this, that the enemy has reproached, O LORD, and that the foolish people have blasphemed your name.

19 (HEM) אל תתן לחית נפש תורך חית ענייך אל תשכח לנצח׃
19 (UKJV) O deliver not the soul of your turtledove unto the multitude of the wicked: forget not the congregation of your poor for ever.

20 (HEM) הבט לברית כי מלאו מחשכי ארץ נאות חמס׃
20 (UKJV) Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.

21 (HEM) אל ישב דך נכלם עני ואביון יהללו שמך׃
21 (UKJV) O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise your name.

22 (HEM) קומה אלהים ריבה ריבך זכר חרפתך מני נבל כל היום׃
22 (UKJV) Arise, O God, plead your own cause: remember how the foolish man reproaches you daily.

23 (HEM) אל תשכח קול צרריך שאון קמיך עלה תמיד׃
23 (UKJV) Forget not the voice of your enemies: the tumult of those that rise up against you increases continually.
