Žalmy

1 (KJV) Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king's son.
1 (B21) Pro Šalomouna. Obdař, Bože, krále svým soudem, svou spravedlnost dej synu královu!

2 (KJV) He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
2 (B21) Ať soudí tvůj lid spravedlivě, všechny tvé chudé po právu.

3 (KJV) The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
3 (B21) Ať hory přinesou lidu blahobyt, pahorky ať spravedlnost skýtají.

4 (KJV) He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
4 (B21) Ať chudé v tvém lidu král obhájí, děti ubožáka ať ochrání a jejich utlačovatele rozdrtí!

5 (KJV) They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
5 (B21) Ať žije dál po všechna pokolení, dokud slunce a měsíc trvají.

6 (KJV) He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.
6 (B21) Ať je jak déšť, co na louku se snáší, a jako liják, jenž zemi napájí.

7 (KJV) In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
7 (B21) Ať v jeho dnech vzkvétá spravedlivý a rozhojní se blahobyt, až dokud měsíc nezmizí.

8 (KJV) He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
8 (B21) Ať panuje od moře až k moři, od řeky Eufrat po světa kraj.

9 (KJV) They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
9 (B21) Ať se mu klaní obyvatelé pouští, jeho nepřátelé ať lížou prach!

10 (KJV) The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
10 (B21) Ať mu králové z ostrovů i moří složí pocty, králové Sáby i Šeby ať mu dary přinesou.

11 (KJV) Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
11 (B21) Ať se mu všichni králové klaní, všechny národy ať slouží mu!

12 (KJV) For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that hath no helper.
12 (B21) Chudáka v jeho křiku jistě vysvobodí a také ubožáka, jenž nemá pomoci.

13 (KJV) He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
13 (B21) S nebohým chudákem bude mít soucit, život chudákům zachrání.

14 (KJV) He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
14 (B21) Vysvobodí je od křivdy a vydírání, jejich krev totiž draze cení si!

15 (KJV) And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
15 (B21) Ať žije král, zlato ze Sáby ať mu dávají! Ať se za něho stále modlí, celý den ať mu žehnají!

16 (KJV) There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
16 (B21) Ať hojnost obilí je vždy v zemi, dokonce na horských vrcholcích! Ať jeho klasy jak Libanon se vlní, jeho města ať kvetou jak tráva na poli!

17 (KJV) His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
17 (B21) Ať jeho jméno trvá navěky, dlouho jak slunce ať jeho věhlas vydrží! Ať jsou v něm požehnány všechny národy, za blaženého ať jej prohlásí!

18 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
18 (B21) Ať je požehnán Hospodin Bůh, Bůh izraelský, ten, který jediný divy působí!

19 (KJV) And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.
19 (B21) Jeho slavné jméno ať je požehnané navěky, jeho slávy ať je plná celá zem! Amen! Amen!
