1 (KJV) O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:
1 (B21) Píseň nářků, kterou David zpíval Hospodinu kvůli slovům Kúše z pokolení Benjamín.
2 (KJV) Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
2 (B21) Hospodine, Bože můj, na tebe spoléhám, zachraň mě, všech pronásledovatelů zbav!
3 (KJV) O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands;
3 (B21) Jinak mě jako lev rozervou na kusy, rozsápají mě, nebude mi pomoci!
4 (KJV) If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:)
4 (B21) Hospodine, Bože můj, jestliže jsem se provinil, jestli mi na rukách lpí bezpráví,
5 (KJV) Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah.
5 (B21) jestli jsem příteli oplatil něčím zlým (i svého nepřítele jsem však ušetřil!),
6 (KJV) Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded.
6 (B21) pak ať mě honí a chytí protivník, ať pošlape můj život na zemi, mou čest ať v prachu vyválí! séla
7 (KJV) So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high.
7 (B21) Povstaň, Hospodine, v hněvu svém, postav se zuřivosti mých nepřátel, probuď se, Bože, nastol pořádek!
8 (KJV) The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.
8 (B21) Shromáždění národů ať tě obklopí, znovu usedni na trůn nad nimi -
9 (KJV) Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
9 (B21) Hospodin bude soudit národy! Obhaj mě, Hospodine, vždyť jsem nevinný, jsem bez úhony, můj Nejvyšší!
10 (KJV) My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.
10 (B21) Ukonči podlost ničemných, spravedlivého však posilni, spravedlivý Bože, ty zkoumáš srdce i svědomí!
11 (KJV) God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
11 (B21) Nejvyšší Bůh je můj štít - on je zachráncem upřímných!
12 (KJV) If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready.
12 (B21) Bůh je spravedlivý soudce, Bůh plane hněvem každý den.
13 (KJV) He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors.
13 (B21) Pokud se člověk neobrátí, meč svůj naostří, napne svůj luk a zamíří,
14 (KJV) Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
14 (B21) smrtelné zbraně na něj připraví, ohnivé šípy zhotoví.
15 (KJV) He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
15 (B21) Na toho, jenž plodí proradnost, jenž těhotný trápením zrodí lež!
16 (KJV) His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate.
16 (B21) Ten jámu kopal, až ji vyhloubil, spadl do pasti, kterou nastražil.
17 (KJV) I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.
17 (B21) Jeho proradnost se k němu navrátí, na hlavu padne mu jeho násilí!
18 ----
18 (B21) Hospodina budu za jeho spravedlnost chválit, Hospodinovu jménu zahraji - on je Nejvyšší!

Verš 9
Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins.
1Krn 28:9 - And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Jer 11:20 - But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause.
Jer 17:10 - I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jer 20:12 - But, O LORD of hosts, that triest the righteous, and seest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I opened my cause.
Zjv 2:23 - And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
Verš 14
Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood.
Jób 15:35 - They conceive mischief, and bring forth vanity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
Iz 59:4 - None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
Jób 4:8 - Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same.
Ž 9:15 - The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
Ž 10:2 - The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
Prís 5:22 - His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.
Prís 26:27 - Whoso diggeth a pit shall fall therein: and he that rolleth a stone, it will return upon him.
Kaz 10:8 - He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
Z 7,1 - Kto je Kúša? Pravdepodobne bol to jeden zo Šaulových dvoranov alebo vodcov, ktorí nenávideli Dávida a za každú cenu sa snažili zbaviť sa ho.
Z 7,7 - "Vystúp na súde, ktorý si ty nariadil", značí skutočnosť, že Boh dobrých ochraňuje a zlých tresce, ale tu môže byť aj náznakom všeobecného súdu, ktorý proroci volajú "dňom Pánovým", tým viac, že v nasledujúcom verši prechádza myšlienka od súdu nad jednotlivcami na súd všeobecný.
Z 7,9 - "Súď ma, Pane, podľa mojej spravodlivosti". Žalmista prichádza pred trón Sudcu a dôverujúc v svoju nevinnosť, žiada o rozsudok. Hovorí nielen za seba, ale za všetkých spravodlivých. Tu treba vidieť aj centrálnu ideu celého žalmu.
