Žalmy

1 (KJV) Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul.
1 (B21) Pro předního zpěváka, na nápěv "Lilie". Žalm Davidův.

2 (KJV) I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me.
2 (B21) Bože, pomoz mi, voda až po krk sahá mi!

3 (KJV) I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.
3 (B21) Hluboko klesám do bahna beze dna, kolem mě vodní hlubina - ta záplava mě přemáhá!

4 (KJV) They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
4 (B21) Křikem jsem vyčerpán, hrdlo mě pálí, vysychá, vyhlížím Boha, ztrácím zrak!

5 (KJV) O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.
5 (B21) Těch, kdo mě bez důvodu nenávidí, je více, než mám vlasů na hlavě! Spousta je těch, kteří mě chtějí zničit, obviňují mě falešně - to, co jsem neukradl, musím navracet!

6 (KJV) Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.
6 (B21) Ty, Bože, znáš moje bláznovství, mé viny před tebou se nikam neskryjí.

7 (KJV) Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face.
7 (B21) Ať se kvůli mně, Hospodine, stydět nemusí ti, kteří v tebe, Pane zástupů, doufají. Ať kvůli mně nejsou zahanbeni ti, kteří tě, Bože Izraele, hledají!

8 (KJV) I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children.
8 (B21) Kvůli tobě přece snáším ponížení, to kvůli tobě mi hanba halí tvář.

9 (KJV) For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
9 (B21) Pro vlastní bratry jsem jako cizí, pro děti své matky jsem cizincem.

10 (KJV) When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach.
10 (B21) Horlivost tvého domu mě totiž stravuje, padají na mě urážky tobě určené!

11 (KJV) I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them.
11 (B21) V slzách když jsem se trápil postem, měli pro mě jen posměšky.

12 (KJV) They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards.
12 (B21) Místo šatů když oblékal jsem pytel, skládali o mně říkanky.

13 (KJV) But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation.
13 (B21) Pomlouvali mě, kdo sedají v bráně, opilci si o mně zpívali!

14 (KJV) Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
14 (B21) Já se však budu modlit k tobě, vždyť je, Hospodine, čas tvé milosti. Vyslyš mě, Bože, ve své veliké lásce, zachraň mě ve své věrnosti!

15 (KJV) Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.
15 (B21) Z bahna mě vytáhni, nenech mě utonout, před těmi, kdo mě nenávidí, dej mi uniknout jako před vodní hlubinou!

16 (KJV) Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies.
16 (B21) Ať mě nepřemůže vodní záplava, ať mě nepohltí její hlubina, kdyby se nade mnou propast zavřela!

17 (KJV) And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.
17 (B21) Vyslyš mě, Hospodine, pro dobrotu své lásky, v hojném svém soucitu na mě pohlédni.

18 (KJV) Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies.
18 (B21) Před svým služebníkem svou tvář neskrývej, je mi tak úzko - pospěš, vyslyš mě!

19 (KJV) Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee.
19 (B21) Přibliž se ke mně, vyprosti mě, vykup mě z moci nepřátel!

20 (KJV) Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.
20 (B21) Ty přece víš o mém ponížení, o všech těch urážkách a posměšcích - všechny mé nepřátele máš přece na očích!

21 (KJV) They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
21 (B21) Srdce mám hanbou zdrcené, je mi zle, toužil jsem po soucitu, zbytečně, hledal jsem utěšitele, ale nenašel.

22 (KJV) Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
22 (B21) K jídlu mi dali okusit žluče, ocet mi dali pít, když žíznil jsem!

23 (KJV) Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
23 (B21) Jejich stůl ať se jim stane léčkou, jejich pastí a odplatou.

24 (KJV) Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
24 (B21) Ať se jim v očích zatmí, tak aby neviděli, jejich bedra sehni navždycky!

25 (KJV) Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
25 (B21) Vylij na ně své rozhněvání, plamen tvé prchlivosti ať je zachvátí.

26 (KJV) For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
26 (B21) Jejich příbytek ať zůstane pustý, v jejich stanech ať nikdo nebydlí!

27 (KJV) Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
27 (B21) Koho jsi sám ztrestal, toho pronásledují, baví se o bolesti tebou zraněných.

28 (KJV) Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.
28 (B21) Jejich viny jim proto všechny sečti, do tvé spravedlnosti ať nevstoupí.

29 (KJV) But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high.
29 (B21) Z knihy života ať jsou vymazáni, mezi spravedlivé ať nejsou počteni!

30 (KJV) I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.
30 (B21) Já sám jsem ubohý, trpím bolestí, tvá spása však, Bože, dá mi bezpečí!

31 (KJV) This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs.
31 (B21) Boží jméno pak písní oslavím, vyvyšovat je budu s vděčností.

32 (KJV) The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God.
32 (B21) Ta oběť Hospodina potěší víc než býk, více než dobytek s rohy a kopyty!

33 (KJV) For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners.
33 (B21) Ponížení se rozveselí, až to uvidí - vám, kdo hledáte Boha, ať srdce ožijí!

34 (KJV) Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.
34 (B21) Vždyť přece Hospodin slyší ubožáky, nepohrdá svým lidem v zajetí.

35 (KJV) For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.
35 (B21) Nebesa i země ať jej oslavují, též moře i všechna havěť v nich!

36 (KJV) The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
36 (B21) Bůh totiž Sionu daruje spásu a města Judy znovu vystaví, tak aby bydleli ve svém dědictví.

37 ----
37 (B21) Potomci jeho služebníků tu zemi obdrží a zůstanou v ní, kdo jeho jméno milují!
