Žalmy

1 (KJV) Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands:
1 (B21) Zpívaný žalm pro předního zpěváka. Ať volá radostně k Bohu celý svět,

2 (KJV) Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.
2 (B21) o jeho slavném jménu zpívejte, jeho chválu slavně hlásejte!

3 (KJV) Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee.
3 (B21) Řekněte Bohu: Jak ohromné jsou skutky tvé! Tváří v tvář tvé mohutné síle tvoji nepřátelé krčí se.

4 (KJV) All the earth shall worship thee, and shall sing unto thee; they shall sing to thy name. Selah.
4 (B21) Celý svět se ti bude klanět, zpívat ti bude, zpívat o jménu tvém! séla

5 (KJV) Come and see the works of God: he is terrible in his doing toward the children of men.
5 (B21) Pojďte, na Boží skutky hleďte, jak ohromný je v tom, jak k lidem chová se!

6 (KJV) He turned the sea into dry land: they went through the flood on foot: there did we rejoice in him.
6 (B21) V pevninu kdysi obrátil moře a pěšky přešli přes řeku - pojďte, radujme se v něm!

7 (KJV) He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
7 (B21) Navěky vládne ve své síle, jeho oči bdí nad národy - neprosadí se vzbouřenci! séla

8 (KJV) O bless our God, ye people, and make the voice of his praise to be heard:
8 (B21) Našemu Bohu, národy, dobrořečte, hlas jeho chvály nechte znít.

9 (KJV) Which holdeth our soul in life, and suffereth not our feet to be moved.
9 (B21) Vždyť naši duši zachoval při životě, našim nohám nedal klopýtnout!

10 (KJV) For thou, O God, hast proved us: thou hast tried us, as silver is tried.
10 (B21) Ano, prověřil jsi nás, Bože, tříbil jsi nás jak stříbro nejčistší.

11 (KJV) Thou broughtest us into the net; thou laidst affliction upon our loins.
11 (B21) Zavedl jsi nás do lovcovy sítě, na naše bedra jsi vložil trápení.

12 (KJV) Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.
12 (B21) Člověku nastavil jsi naše hlavy, ohněm i vodou prošli jsme, než jsi nás vyvedl ke svobodě.

13 (KJV) I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows,
13 (B21) Do tvého domu vejdu s oběťmi zápalnými, sliby, jež dal jsem, splním ti,

14 (KJV) Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble.
14 (B21) sliby, jež pronesl jsem svými rty, sliby mých úst uprostřed soužení.

15 (KJV) I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
15 (B21) Zápaly přinesu ti ze zvířat vykrmených, berany pro tebe v dým proměním, býky i kozly ti jako oběť připravím! séla

16 (KJV) Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.
16 (B21) Pojďte a slyšte, ctitelé Boží, budu vám vyprávět, co pro mě udělal.

17 (KJV) I cried unto him with my mouth, and he was extolled with my tongue.
17 (B21) Volal jsem k němu z plna hrdla a chválil ho svým jazykem.

18 (KJV) If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
18 (B21) Hanebnost kdybych si v srdci choval, můj Pán by mě jistě neslyšel.

19 (KJV) But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
19 (B21) Bůh mě však vyslyšel a popřál sluch mé modlitbě!

20 (KJV) Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
20 (B21) Bůh ať je požehnán - mou prosbu neodmítl, svou lásku mi neodňal!
