1 (KJV) Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
1 (KAT) Zbormajstrovi. Na nápev „Nezahub“. Dávidov žalm. Miktam. Keď Šaul vyslal mužov, aby strážili dom a zavraždili Dávida.

2 (KJV) Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
2 (KAT) Vytrhni ma, Bože, z moci mojich nepriateľov, chráň ma pred tými, čo povstávajú proti mne.

3 (KJV) For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD.
3 (KAT) Vytrhni ma z rúk zločincov a zachráň pred krvilačníkmi.

4 (KJV) They run and prepare themselves without my fault: awake to help me, and behold.

5 (KJV) Thou therefore, O LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen: be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.

6 (KJV) They return at evening: they make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
6 (KAT) Ty, Pane, Bože mocností, Boh Izraela, precitni a potrestaj všetkých pohanov, nemaj zľutovanie nad tými, čo vierolomne konajú.

7 (KJV) Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?

8 (KJV) But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

9 (KJV) Because of his strength will I wait upon thee: for God is my defence.

10 (KJV) The God of my mercy shall prevent me: God shall let me see my desire upon mine enemies.

11 (KJV) Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.
11 (KAT) So mnou je Boh, jeho láska ma predchádza. Boh dá, že svojimi nepriateľmi budem môcť pohrdnúť.

12 (KJV) For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips let them even be taken in their pride: and for cursing and lying which they speak.
12 (KAT) Nepobi ich, aby môj ľud nezabudol; rozožeň ich svojou mocou a zraz ich k zemi, Pane, môj ochranca.

13 (KJV) Consume them in wrath, consume them, that they may not be: and let them know that God ruleth in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
13 (KAT) Pre hriech ich úst, pre reč ich perí nech sa chytia do svojej pýchy; pre kliatbu a lož, ktorú vyriekli.

14 (KJV) And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.

15 (KJV) Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they be not satisfied.

16 (KJV) But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 (KJV) Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy.

18 ----
18 (KAT) Tebe, záštita moja, chcem spievať, lebo ty, Bože, si môj ochranca, môj Boh, moje milosrdenstvo.

Ž 59, 1-18

Verš 8
But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.
Ž 2:4 - He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Verš 1
Deliver me from mine enemies, O my God: defend me from them that rise up against me.
1Sam 19:11 - Saul also sent messengers unto David's house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David's wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.

Verš 7
Behold, they belch out with their mouth: swords are in their lips: for who, say they, doth hear?
Ž 55:21 - The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Ž 57:4 - My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Ž 10:11 - He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.
Ž 94:7 - Yet they say, The LORD shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob regard it.

Z 59,1 - Porov. 1 Sam 19,11-18.
