Žalmy

1 (KJV) Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation.
1 (B21) Pro předního zpěváka, na flétny. Žalm Davidův.

2 (KJV) Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
2 (B21) Vyslyš má slova, Hospodine, všimni si mého úpění!

3 (KJV) My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
3 (B21) Vnímej mé volání, můj Králi a Bože - k tobě se modlím!

4 (KJV) For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
4 (B21) Ráno, Hospodine, kéž můj hlas uslyšíš, ráno ti s nadějí své prosby předložím.

5 (KJV) The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity.
5 (B21) Ty přece, Bože, nemáš rád podlost, nikdo zlý u tebe nesmí být.

6 (KJV) Thou shalt destroy them that speak leasing: the LORD will abhor the bloody and deceitful man.
6 (B21) Před tvýma očima neobstojí zpupní, v nenávisti máš všechny zlosyny.

7 (KJV) But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.
7 (B21) Vniveč obracíš všechny lháře - vrahy a podvodníky si Hospodin oškliví!

8 (KJV) Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.
8 (B21) Já ale díky tvé veliké lásce do tvého domu vejít smím, abych se klaněl v posvátné úctě před tebou ve tvém svatém chrámě.

9 (KJV) For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.
9 (B21) Kvůli mým nepřátelům, Hospodine, ve své spravedlnosti mě veď, svou cestu přede mnou prosím urovnej!

10 (KJV) Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.
10 (B21) Vždyť v jejich ústech není upřímnosti, jejich nitro je plné záhuby, zející hrob je hrdlo jejich, nástroje klamu jejich jazyky.

11 (KJV) But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.
11 (B21) Odsuď je, Bože, na svoje plány ať doplatí! Zavrhni je, že mají tolik vin - vždyť proti tobě povstali!

12 (KJV) For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.
12 (B21) Doufající v tebe však budou šťastní, ti všichni budou jásat navěky. Ty, kdo milují tvé jméno, prosím přikryj, ať se před tebou mohou veselit!

13 (B21) Ty přece, Hospodine, žehnáš spravedlivému, svou přízní jej obklopuješ jako pancířem.
