Žalmy

1 (UKJV) "Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world: "
1 (ROH) Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru. Synov Kórachových. Žalm.

2 (UKJV) Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
2 (ROH) Počujte to, všetky národy; pozorujte ušima, všetci obyvatelia sveta,

3 (UKJV) "My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. "
3 (ROH) jako vysokého, tak i nízkeho rodu synovia, všetci dovedna, bohatý aj chudobný!

4 (UKJV) I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
4 (ROH) Moje ústa budú hovoriť múdrosť, a to, o čom rozmýšľa moje srdce, je rozumnosť.

5 (UKJV) Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
5 (ROH) Nakloním svoje ucho k prísloviu; pri harfe započnem svoju hlbokú, umnú reč:

6 (UKJV) "They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; "
6 (ROH) Prečo by som sa mal báť vo dňoch zlého? Len keby ma obkľúčila neprávosť mojich pätí.-

7 (UKJV) None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
7 (ROH) A nože tí, ktorí sa nadejú na svoju moc a chvália sa svojím veľkým bohatstvom, nech počujú!

8 (UKJV) (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases for ever:)
8 (ROH) Nikto nijakým činom nevykúpi brata, nedá Bohu za neho smierneho

9 (UKJV) That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
9 (ROH) (Lebo by predrahé bolo výkupné ich duše, a nechal by to na veky!),

10 (UKJV) For he sees that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
10 (ROH) aby žil ďalej na večnosť a nevidel porušenia!

11 (UKJV) "Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. "
11 (ROH) Lebo vidieť, že i múdri zomierajú, spolu hynú blázon a nesmyselný a svoj majetok zanechávajú iným.

12 (UKJV) Nevertheless man being in honour abides not: he is like the beasts that perish.
12 (ROH) Myslia si, že ich domy budú trvať na veky, ich príbytky z pokolenia na pokolenie; nazývajú zeme po svojich menách.

13 (UKJV) This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
13 (ROH) Ale človek netrvá vo svojej sláve; je podobný hovädám, ktoré hynú.

14 (UKJV) "Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling. "
14 (ROH) Tá ich cesta je ich bláznovstvom, a ľudia po nich si ľubujú v ich rečiach. Sélah.

15 (UKJV) But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
15 (ROH) Ako ovce budú složení v hrobe; smrť ich spasie, a ráno budú priami panovať nad nimi. A ich obraz? Je na to, aby sa rozpadol v hrobe jako vetché rúcho preč zo svojho vznešeného obydlia.

16 (UKJV) "Be not you afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; "
16 (ROH) Ale Bôh vykúpi moju dušu z ruky pekla, lebo si ma vezme. Sélah.

17 (UKJV) For when he dies he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
17 (ROH) Neboj sa, keď niekto bohatne, keď sa množí sláva jeho domu!

18 (UKJV) Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise you, when you do well to yourself.
18 (ROH) Lebo pri svojej smrti nevezme ničoho z toho; nesostúpi za ním jeho sláva.

19 (UKJV) "He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. "
19 (ROH) Lebo žehná svojej duši vo svojom živote. A budú ťa chváliť, keď si budeš hovieť.-

20 (UKJV) Man that is in honour, and understands not, is like the beasts that perish.
20 (ROH) Ale keď prijdeš až k pokoleniu jeho otcov, uzrieš, že neuvidia svetla až na večnosť.

21 (ROH) Človek v sláve, ak tomu nerozumie, podobný je hovädám, ktoré hynú.
