Žalmy

1 (KJV) Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

2 (KJV) The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
2 (B21) Blaze tomu, kdo myslí na ubohé, ve zlý den mu Hospodin pomůže!

3 (KJV) The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.
3 (B21) Hospodin ho uchrání, naživu udrží jej, šťastným na zemi ho učiní, nevydá ho zvůli nepřátel.

4 (KJV) I said, LORD, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
4 (B21) Hospodin jej posílí na lůžku nemocných - z jeho nemoci jej zcela uzdravíš!

5 (KJV) Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?
5 (B21) Řekl jsem: "Hospodine, smiluj se nade mnou, zhřešil jsem proti tobě, uzdrav duši mou!"

6 (KJV) And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
6 (B21) Mí nepřátelé o mně mluví ve zlosti: "Umře už brzo? Už jeho jméno vymizí?"

7 (KJV) All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.
7 (B21) Kdykoli mě navštíví, mluví lži, podlost si v srdci hromadí, jdou ven a klevetí.

8 (KJV) An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
8 (B21) Všichni mí nepřátelé si o mně šeptají, přičítají mi pouze neštěstí:

9 (KJV) Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.
9 (B21) "Zachvátila ho hrozná věc, ze svého lůžka nevstane!"

10 (KJV) But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
10 (B21) Dokonce i můj přítel, jemuž jsem důvěřoval, ten, který se mnou jídal chléb, pozvedl patu proti mně.

11 (KJV) By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
11 (B21) Ty se však, Hospodine, smiluj nade mnou, dej, abych vstal a dal jim odplatu!

12 (KJV) And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
12 (B21) Takto poznávám, že máš mě rád, když můj protivník nade mnou nejásá.

13 (KJV) Blessed be the LORD God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.
13 (B21) Ty mě podpíráš, neboť jsem nevinný, do své přítomnosti mě stavíš navěky.

14 (B21) Ať je požehnán Hospodin, Bůh izraelský, od věků až navěky! Amen! Amen!
