Ž 39, 1-14

1 (UKJV) I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep my mouth with a bridle, while the wicked is before me.
1 (ROH) Náčelníkovi speváckeho sboru, Jedutúnovi. Žalm Dávidov.

2 (UKJV) "I was dumb with silence, I held my peace, even from good; and my sorrow was stirred. "
2 (ROH) Povedal som: Budem pozorovať na svoje cesty, aby som nezhrešil svojím jazykom; budem strážiť svoje ústa, aby maly úzdu, dokiaľ bude predo mnou bezbožný.

3 (UKJV) My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned: then spoke I with my tongue,
3 (ROH) A tak som nevydal hlasu jako nemý a mlčal som viac, než bolo dobre. Ale moja bolesť sa búrila.

4 (UKJV) LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is: that I may know how frail I am.
4 (ROH) Moje srdce sa rozpálilo v mojom vnútri, a keď som rozmýšľal, zanietil sa vo mne oheň; vravel som svojím jazykom

5 (UKJV) "Behold, you have made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before you: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. "
5 (ROH) a riekol som: Daj mi znať, ó, Hospodine, môj koniec, a jaký je výmer mojich dní, aby som vedel, ako rýchle sa pominiem.

6 (UKJV) Surely every man walks in a vain show: surely they are disquieted in vain: he heaps up riches, and knows not who shall gather them.
6 (ROH) A hľa, dal si mi dní na šír niekoľko dlaní, a môj vek je pred tebou jako nič. Áno, všetko je márnosť, i každý človek, čo i jako pevne stojí. Sélah.

7 (UKJV) And now, Lord, what wait I for? my hope is in you.
7 (ROH) Áno, človek ide ta jako tôňa; púha márnosť je, za čo sa nepokojí; hromadí, a nevie, kto to všetko poberie.

8 (UKJV) Deliver me from all my transgressions: make me not the reproach of the foolish.
8 (ROH) A tak teraz na čože by som očakával, ó, Pane? Ten, na koho sa nadejem, si ty.

9 (UKJV) "I was dumb, I opened not my mouth; because you did it. "
9 (ROH) Vytrhni ma zo všetkých mojich prestúpení! Nevystav ma na potupu bláznovi!

10 (UKJV) Remove your stroke away from me: I am consumed by the blow of your hand.
10 (ROH) Zanemel som; neotvorím svojich úst, lebo si to ty učinil.

11 (UKJV) When you with rebukes do correct man for iniquity, you make his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.
11 (ROH) Odvráť svoj úder odo mňa, lebo ja hyniem od švihania tvojej ruky.

12 (UKJV) "Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not your peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with you, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were. "
12 (ROH) Keď kárajúc pre neprávosť tresceš človeka, rozpadáva sa jeho pôvab ako moľovina. Áno, vskutku je márnosťou každý človek. Sélah.

13 (UKJV) O spare me, that I may recover strength, before I go behind, and be no more.
13 (ROH) Počuj moju modlitbu, Hospodine; nakloň ucho k môjmu volaniu o pomoc! Nemlč na moje slzy! Lebo som cudzincom u teba; som pohostínom, ako boli aj všetci moji otcovia.

14 ----
14 (ROH) Odvráť svoj pozor odo mňa, aby som sa potešil, prv než pojdem, a nebude ma.
