1 (KJV) Give unto the LORD, O ye mighty, give unto the LORD glory and strength.
1 (B21) Žalm Davidův. Vzdejte Hospodinu, synové Boží, vzdejte Hospodinu slávu a moc.
2 (KJV) Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.
2 (B21) Vzdejte Hospodinu slávu, jež mu náleží, klaňte se Hospodinu v kráse svatosti!
3 (KJV) The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
3 (B21) Hlas Hospodinův se nese nad vodami, Bůh slávy sám hromem burácí - Hospodin nad vodními spoustami!
4 (KJV) The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.
4 (B21) Hlas Hospodinův přichází v moci, hlas Hospodinův je nádherný!
5 (KJV) The voice of the LORD breaketh the cedars; yea, the LORD breaketh the cedars of Lebanon.
5 (B21) Hlas Hospodinův láme cedry, libanonské cedry Hospodin poráží.
6 (KJV) He maketh them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn.
6 (B21) Jako telátko nechá skákat Libanon, Sirion skáče jak mládě buvolí!
7 (KJV) The voice of the LORD divideth the flames of fire.
7 (B21) Hlas Hospodinův srší ohněm,
8 (KJV) The voice of the LORD shaketh the wilderness; the LORD shaketh the wilderness of Kadesh.
8 (B21) hlas Hospodinův pouští otřásá - kádešskou pouští třese Hospodin!
9 (KJV) The voice of the LORD maketh the hinds to calve, and discovereth the forests: and in his temple doth every one speak of his glory.
9 (B21) Hlas Hospodinův vyvrací duby a obnažuje lesy, v jeho chrámě všichni "Sláva!" volají.
10 (KJV) The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
10 (B21) Hospodin trůnil nad potopou, Hospodin bude jako král trůnit navěky.
11 (KJV) The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.
11 (B21) Hospodin dává svému lidu sílu, Hospodin svému lidu žehná pokojem.

The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.
Ž 10:16 - The LORD is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters.
Ex 9:23 - And Moses stretched forth his rod toward heaven: and the LORD sent thunder and hail, and the fire ran along upon the ground; and the LORD rained hail upon the land of Egypt.
Z 29 - Tento žalm je jednou z najkrajších čiastok lyriky Starého zákona. Vedúcim tónom žalmu je "Hlas Pánov", ktorý zaznieva v rozličných podobách a žalmista ho zachytáva smelými obrazmi. V Palestíne nie sú búrky také časté ako u nás. Preto tamojší ľudia prežívajú priebeh búrky omnoho živšie než my. V búrke a v jej sprievodných javoch vidia prejav Božej moci, pre nich je búrka "Hlas Pánov".
Z 29,1 - Kto sú "synovia Boží", je sporné. Môžu to byť anjeli, ktorí si pre svoju blízkosť a spojenie s Bohom zasluhujú meno "synov Božích" ako v Jób 1,6; 38,7; Ž 89,7, ale môžu to byť aj nábožní ľudia (Jób 2,11; Múd 2,13-16; 18; Gn 6,2), Pánovi ctitelia alebo niektorí význační členovia Izraela ako kňazi, sudcovia atď. Prikláňame sa k mienke, že sú to "anjeli", inak by sa 9. verš "a v jeho chráme všetci volajú: Sláva" musel vysvetľovať veľmi naturalisticky.
Z 29,6 - Sarion - fenické pomenovanie Hermonu, najvyššieho končiara v Libanonskom pohorí.
