1 (CPDV) A Psalm of David himself. To you, Lord, I will cry out. My God, do not be silent toward me. For if you remain silent toward me, I will become like those who descend into the pit.
1 (ROH) Žalm Dávidov. Hospodin je mojím svetlom a mojím spasením - koho sa budem báť?! Hospodin je pevnosťou môjho života - koho sa budem strachovať?!
2 (CPDV) Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, when I pray to you, when I lift up my hands toward your holy temple.
2 (ROH) Keď urobili zlostníci útok na mňa, aby žrali moje telo, moji protivníci a moji nepriatelia, oni klesli a padli.
3 (CPDV) Do not draw me away together with sinners; and let me not perish with those who work iniquity, who speak peacefully to their neighbor, yet evils are in their hearts.
3 (ROH) Keby sa vojsko táborom rozložilo proti mne, nebude sa báť moje srdce; keby povstala proti mne vojna, i v tom sa ja nadejem.
4 (CPDV) Give to them according to their works and according to the wickedness of their inventions. Assign to them according to the works of their hands. Repay them with their own retribution.
4 (ROH) Jedno si žiadam od Hospodina, iba to budem hľadať: aby som mohol bývať v dome Hospodinovom po všetky dni svojho života, aby som hľadel na krásu Hospodinovu a zpytoval v jeho chráme;
5 (CPDV) Since they have not understood the works of the Lord and the works of his hands, you will destroy them, and you will not build them up.
5 (ROH) lebo ma ukryje vo svojom stánku v zlý deň; skryje ma v skrýši svojho stánu; vyzdvihne ma na skalu.
6 (CPDV) Blessed is the Lord, for he has heard the voice of my supplication.
6 (ROH) A tak teraz sa povýši moja hlava nad mojich nepriateľov okolo mňa, a budem, áno, budem obetovať v jeho stáne obeti radostného pokrikovania, budem spievať, a spievať budem Hospodinovi žalmy.
7 (CPDV) The Lord is my helper and my protector. In him, my heart has hoped and I have been helped. And my flesh has flourished again. And from my will, I shall confess to him.
7 (ROH) Počuj, Hospodine, môj hlas, volám; zmiluj sa nado mnou a ozvi sa mi!
8 (CPDV) The Lord is the strength of his people and the protector of the salvation of his Christ.
8 (ROH) Za teba hovorí moje srdce: Hľadajte moju tvár! Hľadám tedy, Hospodine, tvoju tvár.
9 (CPDV) O Lord, save your people and bless your inheritance, and reign over them and exalt them, even unto eternity.
9 (ROH) Neskrývaj svojej tvári predo mnou; nezapuď v hneve svojho služobníka, veď si bol mojou pomocou; neodmietni ma ani ma neopusti, Bože môjho spasenia!

10 (ROH) Lebo môj otec i moja matka ma opustili, ale Hospodin ma privinie k sebe.
11 ----
11 (ROH) Vyuč ma, Hospodine, svojej ceste a veď ma po priamej stezke pre tých, ktorí striehnu na mňa.
12 ----
12 (ROH) Nevydaj ma do ľubovôle mojich protivníkov; lebo povstali falošní svedkovia proti mne i ten, kto srší ukrutnosťou.
13 ----
13 (ROH) Keby som nebol veril, že budem zrieť dobré Hospodinovo v zemi živých, už by som bol dávno zahynul.
14 ----
14 (ROH) Očakávaj na Hospodina, buď silný, a nech je mocné tvoje srdce, a očakávaj na Hospodina!

Verš 1

Z 27,7 - V LXX a Vg namiesto "zaplesalo moje srdce" je takáto lekcia "a moje telo zasa rozkvitlo".
Z 27,8 - "Hľadať Pánovu tvár" - hľadať jeho priazeň a lásku.
Z 27,13 - "Krajina žijúcich" je tento svet, ako "krajina mŕtvych, šeól", je označením života po smrti.
