1 (KJV) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
1 (KAT) Dávidov žalm. Pán je môj pastier, nič mi nechýba:
2 (KJV) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
2 (KAT) pasie ma na zelených pašienkach. Vodí ma k tichým vodám,
3 (KJV) He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
3 (KAT) dušu mi osviežuje. Vodí ma po správnych chodníkoch, verný svojmu menu.
4 (KJV) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
4 (KAT) I keby som mal ísť tmavou dolinou, nebudem sa báť zlého, lebo ty si so mnou. Tvoj prút a tvoja palica, tie sú mi útechou.
5 (KJV) Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
5 (KAT) Prestieraš mi stôl pred očami mojich protivníkov. Leješ mi olej na hlavu a kalich mi napĺňaš až po okraj.
6 (KJV) Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
6 (KAT) Dobrota a milosť budú ma sprevádzať po všetky dni môjho života. A budem bývať v dome Pánovom mnoho a mnoho dní.

Verš 1
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Iz 40:11 - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
Jer 23:4 - And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD.
Ez 34:23 - And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd.
Jn 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
1Pt 2:25 - For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
Zjv 7:17 - For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Verš 4
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Ž 3:5 - I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
Ž 118:6 - The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?
Z 23,5 - Podľa zvyku orientálnej pohostinnosti (92,11; 133,2; Kaz 9,8; Am 6,6; Lk 7,46). V Novom zákone obrazy ustupujú skutočnosti, veď "prestretý stôl" nemôže byť nič iné ako sviatosť Eucharistie, v ktorej veriaca duša nájde osvieženie, silu a istotu pred nepriateľom na ďalšej ceste; "olej" je obrazom siedmich darov Ducha Svätého, ktorými je každý kresťan označený za Kristovho bojovníka.
