Žalmy

1 (KJV) The king shall joy in thy strength, O LORD; and in thy salvation how greatly shall he rejoice!
1 (KAT) Zbormajstrovi. Dávidov žalm.

2 (KJV) Thou hast given him his heart's desire, and hast not withholden the request of his lips. Selah.
2 (KAT) Pane, z tvojej sily sa kráľ raduje a veľmi sa teší z tvojej spásy.

3 (KJV) For thou preventest him with the blessings of goodness: thou settest a crown of pure gold on his head.
3 (KAT) Vyplnil si túžbu jeho srdca a prosbu jeho perí si neodmietol.

4 (KJV) He asked life of thee, and thou gavest it him, even length of days for ever and ever.
4 (KAT) Vyšiel si mu v ústrety s požehnaním, na jeho hlavu si vložil korunu z rýdzeho zlata.

5 (KJV) His glory is great in thy salvation: honour and majesty hast thou laid upon him.
5 (KAT) Prosil si od teba život a ty si mu ho daroval, život dlhý, navždy, naveky.

6 (KJV) For thou hast made him most blessed for ever: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.
6 (KAT) Veľká je jeho sláva, lebo mu pomáhaš, ozdobuješ ho velebou a nádherou.

7 (KJV) For the king trusteth in the LORD, and through the mercy of the most High he shall not be moved.
7 (KAT) Robíš z neho požehnanie pre všetky veky, blažíš ho radosťou pred svojou tvárou.

8 (KJV) Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
8 (KAT) Na Pána sa kráľ spolieha; neskláti sa, veď pomoc Najvyššieho je pri ňom.

9 (KJV) Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the LORD shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
9 (KAT) Tvoja ruka zastihne všetkých tvojich nepriateľov, tvoja pravica nájde tých, čo ťa nenávidia.

10 (KJV) Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
10 (KAT) Urobíš ich ohnivou pecou, keď sa zjaví tvoja tvár; Pán ich pohltí vo svojom hneve a strávi ich oheň.

11 (KJV) For they intended evil against thee: they imagined a mischievous device, which they are not able to perform.
11 (KAT) Vyhubíš ich rod zo zeme a ich potomstvo spomedzi ľudí.

12 (KJV) Therefore shalt thou make them turn their back, when thou shalt make ready thine arrows upon thy strings against the face of them.
12 (KAT) Lebo proti tebe snuli zlo a vymýšľali úklady, ale nič nezmôžu.

13 (KJV) Be thou exalted, LORD, in thine own strength: so will we sing and praise thy power.
13 (KAT) Lebo ich obrátiš na útek, svoj luk namieriš na ich tvár.
