1 Ž 144, 1 The Praise of David himself. I will extol you, O God, my king. And I will bless your name, in this time and forever and ever. 2 Ž 144, 2 Throughout every single day, I will bless you. And I will praise your name, in this time and forever and ever. 3 Ž 144, 3 The Lord is great and exceedingly praiseworthy. And there is no end to his greatness. 4 Ž 144, 4 Generation after generation will praise your works, and they will declare your power. 5 Ž 144, 5 They will tell of the magnificent glory of your sanctity. And they will discourse of your wonders. 6 Ž 144, 6 And they will talk about the virtue of your terrible acts. And they will describe your greatness. 7 Ž 144, 7 They will shout about the memory of your abundant sweetness. And they will exult in your justice. 8 Ž 144, 8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful, patient and full of mercy. 9 Ž 144, 9 The Lord is sweet to all things, and his compassion is upon all his works. 10 Ž 144, 10 O Lord, may all your works confess to you, and let your holy ones bless you. 11 Ž 144, 11 They will speak of the glory of your kingdom, and they will declare your power, 12 Ž 144, 12 so as to make known to the sons of men your power and the glory of your magnificent kingdom. 13 Ž 144, 13 Your kingdom is a kingdom for all ages, and your dominion is with all, from generation to generation. The Lord is faithful in all his words and holy in all his works. 14 Ž 144, 14 The Lord lifts up all who have fallen down, and he sets upright all who have been thrown down. 15 Ž 144, 15 O Lord, all eyes hope in you, and you provide their food in due time. 16 Ž 144, 16 You open your hand, and you fill every kind of animal with a blessing. 17 Ž 144, 17 The Lord is just in all his ways and holy in all his works. 18 Ž 144, 18 The Lord is near to all who call upon him, to all who call upon him in truth. 19 Ž 144, 19 He will do the will of those who fear him, and he will heed their supplication and accomplish their salvation. 20 Ž 144, 20 The Lord watches over all who love him. And he will destroy all sinners. 21 Ž 144, 21 My mouth will speak the praise of the Lord, and may all flesh bless his holy name, in this time and forever and ever.

Generation after generation will praise your works, and they will declare your power.
Ž 39:5 - Blessed is the man whose hope is in the name of the Lord, and who has no respect for vanities and absurd falsehoods.
Ž 62:9 - My soul has clung close to you. Your right hand has supported me.
Jób 8:9 - (of course, we are but of yesterday and are ignorant that our days on earth are like a shadow,)

They will tell of the magnificent glory of your sanctity. And they will discourse of your wonders.
Ž 18:9 - The justice of the Lord is right, rejoicing hearts. The precepts of the Lord are brilliant, enlightening the eyes.
Ž 18:7 - his departure is from the summit of heaven. And his course reaches all the way to its summit. Neither is there anyone who can hide himself from his heat.
Ž 104:32 - He gave them a shower of hail and a burning fire, in the same land.

And they will talk about the virtue of your terrible acts. And they will describe your greatness.
2Sam 22:8 - The earth was shaken, and it quaked. The foundations of the mountains were struck together and violently shaken, because he was angry with them.

Z 144 - Prvá časť žalmu (1-11) je poskladaná z iných žalmov, najmä z 8, 18, 33, 104.
Z 144,1-2 - Kráľ Dávid je pred bojom. Vie však, že ak Pán nebude pomáhať a ak on nezlomí nepriateľa, všetko úsilie by bolo daromné.
Z 144,5-6 - Dúfa, že Pán mimoriadnym spôsobom zasiahne na ochranu svojho ľudu. Má sa to stať za pomoci búrky, v ktorej Pán prejavoval svoju moc a hrôzu.
Z 144,7 - Prívaly, veľké vody sú vo Svätom písme symbolom veľkého nebezpečenstva (Ž 18,17).
Z 144,8 - "Krivoprísažná pravica", pars pro toto, označuje tých, čo falošne a skrivodlivo prisahali. Pri prísahe zdvíhali pravú ruku (Ž 137,5).
Z 144,12-15 - Žalmista prosí o požehnanie, pokoj a blahobyt pre svoj národ.
