Žalmy

1 (KJV) I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
1 (B21) Žalm Davidův. Z celého srdce chválím tě, žalmy ti zpívám před mocnými.

2 (KJV) I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
2 (B21) Před tvým svatým chrámem klaním se a tvému jménu děkuji, že miluješ a že věrný jsi, žes i svou pověst převýšil tím, co jsi zaslíbil.

3 (KJV) In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.
3 (B21) Vyslyšel jsi mě, když k tobě volal jsem - dodals mi odvahy!

4 (KJV) All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O LORD, when they hear the words of thy mouth.
4 (B21) Ať tě, Hospodine, všichni králové slaví, až uslyší, co jsi zaslíbil.

5 (KJV) Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the LORD: for great is the glory of the LORD.
5 (B21) Ať opěvují cesty Hospodinovy: "Hospodinova sláva je největší!"

6 (KJV) Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
6 (B21) Ač je Hospodin tolik vyvýšený, ponížených přece všímá si a zdálky ví o nadutcích.

7 (KJV) Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.
7 (B21) I když procházím soužením, život mi daruješ; napřáhneš ruku k mým sokům zuřivým, tvou pravicí budu zachráněn.

8 (KJV) The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
8 (B21) Hospodin dokoná se mnou své záměry; tvá láska, Hospodine, trvá navěky - neopouštěj prosím dílo rukou svých!
