1 (CPDV) Unto the end. A Psalm of David. O Lord, you have examined me, and you have known me.
1 (KAT) Od Dávida. Chcem ťa, Pane, oslavovať celým srdcom, že si vypočul slová mojich úst. Budem ti hrať pred tvárou anjelov,
2 (CPDV) You have known my sitting down and my rising up again.
2 (KAT) vrhnem sa na tvár pred tvojím svätým chrámom. Tvoje meno budem oslavovať, pretože si milosrdný a verný a nadovšetko si zvelebil svoje meno a svoje prisľúbenia.
3 (CPDV) You have understood my thoughts from afar. My path and my fate, you have investigated.
3 (KAT) Vždy si ma vyslyšal, keď som ťa vzýval, a rozmnožil si vo mne odvahu.
4 (CPDV) And you have foreseen all my ways. For there is no word in my tongue.
4 (KAT) Oslavovať ťa budú, Pane, všetci králi zeme, lebo počuli slová tvojich úst.
5 (CPDV) Behold, O Lord, you have known all things: the newest and the very old. You have formed me, and you have placed your hand over me.
5 (KAT) Budú ospevovať Pánove cesty, lebo veľká je Pánova sláva;
6 (CPDV) Your knowledge has become a wonder to me. It has been reinforced, and I am not able to prevail against it.
6 (KAT) vznešený je Pán, a predsa zhliada na pokorného, pyšného však zďaleka pozná.
7 (CPDV) Where will I go from your Spirit? And where will I flee from your face?
7 (KAT) Aj keby som mal prejsť súžením, ty ma pri živote zachováš a svoju ruku vystrieš proti hnevu mojich nepriateľov; zachráni ma tvoja pravica.
8 (CPDV) If I ascend into heaven, you are there. If I descend into Hell, you are near.
8 (KAT) Pán za mňa dielo dokončí. Pane, tvoje milosrdenstvo je večné; neopusť dielo svojich rúk.
9 (CPDV) If I assume my feathers in early morning, and dwell in the utmost parts of the sea,
9 ----
10 (CPDV) even there, your hand will lead me forth, and your right hand will hold me.
10 ----
11 (CPDV) And I said: Perhaps darkness will overwhelm me, and the night will be my illumination, to my delight.
11 ----
12 (CPDV) But darkness will not be impenetrable to you, and night will illuminate like the day: for just as its darkness is, so also is its light.
12 ----
13 (CPDV) For you have possessed my temperament. You have supported me from the womb of my mother.
13 ----
14 (CPDV) I will confess to you, for you have been magnified terribly. Your works are miraculous, as my soul knows exceedingly well.
14 ----
15 (CPDV) My bone, which you have made in secret, has not been hidden from you, and my substance is in accord with the lower parts of the earth.
15 ----
16 (CPDV) Your eyes saw my imperfection, and all this shall be written in your book. Days will be formed, and no one shall be in them.
16 ----
17 (CPDV) But to me, O God, your friends have been greatly honored. Their first ruler has been exceedingly strengthened.
17 ----
18 (CPDV) I will number them, and they will be more numerous than the sand. I rose up, and I am still with you.
18 ----
19 (CPDV) O God, if only you would cut down sinners. You men of blood: depart from me.
19 ----
20 (CPDV) For you say in thought: They will accept your cities in vain.
20 ----
21 (CPDV) Have I not hated those who hated you, Lord, and wasted away because of your enemies?
21 ----
22 (CPDV) I have hated them with a perfect hatred, and they have become enemies to me.
22 ----
23 (CPDV) Examine me, O God, and know my heart. Question me, and know my paths.
23 ----
24 (CPDV) And see if there might be in me the way of iniquity, and lead me in the way of eternity.
24 ----

Verš 6
Your knowledge has become a wonder to me. It has been reinforced, and I am not able to prevail against it.
Ž 113:6 - What happened to you, O mountains, so that you exulted like rams, and to you, O hills, so that you exulted like lambs among the sheep?
Z 138,8 - Dávid prosí, aby Pán "neopustil dielo svojich rúk", aby bedlil nad svojím národom, nad jeho kráľmi, kým nepríde prisľúbený Mesiáš (porov. 2 Sam 7,28.29).
